It's one thing to say a league is better than the other competitively. Yet it's another to say one is supreme and the other is trash.
All I have said is these so called back water league aren't as bad as many of us want to make it seem.
These days I've started paying attention to other leagues and I must say the level has been quite high.

komekn:

A indicative way of looking at things to measuring the superiority of the league.

Look at the top 10 rated FIFA national teams and ascertain what % of these players play in the EPL comparative to other leagues.

Belguim as a national team the bulk of thier quality players do not play in Belgium.

ANS said he's the next Iniesta. Someone who can't string 1 or 2 correct passes yet alone a defence splitting pass

I said same thing about Aaron Moses's rumors, you needed to see how surprised I was when it was confirmed.

From then, I no longer doubt such news.

Sir, the context is development.
EPL being very competitive is just one issue. Also consider that over half of the teams there have a very poor playing philosophy, and I don't care how much gra gra they bring to their matches.
Most of our players are better of developing elsewhere. And of course they can come to the EPL much later, and hopefully sign for bigger teams with superior tactics.

komekn:

If you can't stand the heat do not go into the kitchen.

Competition does not reduce quality it increase it, by implication you are implying he is not good enough. He needs bto understand the speed, intensity and physicality of the EPL is unlike any other league in the World. That's why it is the most competitive.

The reality is that KC has been unable to cut it and if he can't cut it at Leicester then he will not be moving to Arsenal or Tottenham. Bit he will not be the first or last. This is why the EPL is not for everyone.

Leicester City: Nigerian strikers must move before World Cup

by Joel Slagle

Leicester City boss Claude Puel is reportedly looking to offload Kelechi Iheanachowhen the transfer window opens. Iheanacho is not the only Nigerian striker at Leicester that would benefit from a move this January. Ahmed Musa should also look elsewhere for regular playing time ahead of the World Cup.

Few would have thought Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy would remain at the club after its incredible title-winning season. The Foxes had already signed flying forward Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow for a club record fee to prepare for life after Vardy.

The former non-league striker, however, rejected a move to Arsenal in favor of staying and competing in the Champions League with Leicester. Musa has been surplus to requirements ever since. A year later, Iheanacho was brought in to provide the Foxes additional firepower up front.

Puel has a wealth of striking options available to him. Iheanacho, Musa, Vardy, and Okazaki have already been mentioned. He can also call upon Leonardo Ulloa and the club’s record signing, Islam Slimani.

Vardy is a lock, and that leaves five strikers competing to be his strike partner.

Injuries have hampered Iheanacho’s season so far, and Shinji Okazaki continues to show how crucial he is to Leicester City’s game plans. While Iheanacho is the better goal scorer, Okazaki’s work rate and harrying provided a useful platform for Vardy.

Musa has proved more effective out wide than through the middle in the past, but he remains second choice there too. Puel has spoken of his admiration for Marc Albrighton and rates Demarai Gray highly as well. Also out wide is 2015/16’s Player of the Year, Riyad Mahrez.

Playing time has been difficult to come by for the Nigerian duo. This is a worrying sign for the Super Eagles ahead of the 2018 World Cup. Gernot Rohr’s men face a difficult challenge to make it to the knockout rounds. Every player will need to be firing on all cylinders. Another six months of little action for Iheanacho and Musa does not help the cause.

Leicester City simply has too many forwards and not enough places in the team. While Iheanacho might still prove a good signing long-term, it would be in his best interest to seek a loan move to ensure regular playing time ahead of the World cup. Musa should follow.

World Cup Rivals Croatia Also Fined By Fifa,To Pay Five Times More Than Nigeria

Nigeria's World Cup rivals Croatia have also been fined by the governing body of association football, Fifa, for the inappropriate behavior of their fans during the World Cup qualifier between Croatia and Greece on November 9, 2017.

Fifa penalized the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) for violating Articles 58, 65 and 67 of FIFA's security rules.

The Croatian Federation were fined 30,000 Swiss francs (approximately N11 million) for the incident that occurred at Stadion Maksimir (Zagreb), but the outcome of the game will remain valid.

Croatia thrashed Greece 4-1 in the first leg of their World Cup playoffs, courtesy of goals from Modrić, Kalinić, Perišić and Kramarić, and qualified for the World Cup three days later in Piraeus after holding their hosts to a goalless draw.

The Nigeria Federation received a fine of CHF 6,000 and forfeited the match against Algeria for fielding an ineligible player Abdullahi Shehu.

Nigeria will face Croatia in their World Cup opener at the Kaliningrad Stadium (Kaliningrad), starting from 2000 hours on June 16, 2018.

Nigeria: 'Super-Six Tournament Will Help Home-Based Eagles Ahead of CHAN'

Salisu Yusuf, the Super Eagles Assistant Coach, has said the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super 6 Tournament was an avenue to test and improve the home-based Eagles team.

Yusuf told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja yesterday that the event would also help in the discovery of new and talented players for the team.

"It will help improve the form of the home-based Eagles, as well as the players' performance and quality," he said.

Yusuf, who is the home-based Super Eagles' Chief Coach, has been preparing the team for the 2018 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) billed for January in Morocco.

The coach pointed out that Nigerian clubs were blessed with talented and young football players who were yet to be given opportunities to show their worth at the national team.

"The Super 6 tournament will help us to see some young players from these clubs here in Nigeria and it will also help us build a better team," he said.

Yusuf expressed optimism in the capability of his payers to be better shaped by the tournament for greater results.

The six teams at the tournament are the home-based Super Eagles, Enyimba FC of Aba, Plateau United of Jos, MFM FC of Lagos, Akwa United of Uyo and hosts Kano Pillars.

Nigerian Striker On The Mark As Leicester City Held By Legia Warsaw In PLIC

Promising Nigerian striker Layton Ndukwu was on the mark as Leicester City U23s were held to a 2-2 draw by Polish club Legia Warsaw in the Premier League International Cup at Holmes Park on Thursday night.

The visitors took the lead in the tenth minute through Piotr Cichocki who fired the ball past goalkeeper Bramley.

The Foxes were back on level terms on 21 minutes when Ndukwu scored one of the simplest goals of his career to date, tapping in from close range after Gordon threaded a delightful pass into his path.

Josh Knight made it 2-1 Leicester after he was fed by the lively Layton Ndukwu in the 32nd minute.

But they failed to protect their one-goal advantage as Mateusz Bondarenko restored parity for Legia Warsaw midway through the second half.

Steve Beaglehole's team came close to grabbing a winner when Ndukwu was denied by Konrad Jałocha in the closing minutes.

Leicester City U23s have four points from their first two matches in Group B of the Premier League International Cup, and will tackle Joshua Maja's Sunderland in their next fixture on January 23.

If Algeria that has nothing at stake can, then why won't we punish the culprit

Algerian Federation Vow To Punish Staff Who Failed To Spot Nigeria's Error

Algerian Football Federation Vice President, Bachir Ould Zmirli, says it came as a surprise that the Desert Foxes were awarded a 3-0 win and three points after Fifa took the decison to sanction Nigeria for fielding an ineligible player on the final day of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Just like his Nigerian counterpart Amaju Pinnick, Zmirli has admitted that he was unaware Nigeria committed an offense until Fifa's announcement and vowed to punish the erring Federation officials.

''I have just learned that FIFA has awarded us the points of the match in Nigeria, without any reservations,'' Zmirli, who is thechairman of the National Teams Committee, was quoted as saying by Le Buteur.

''That means that we have not been aware of the offense and that is serious, even if there is no issue since we are eliminated. It's simply mismanagement.

''It is very serious that there is this kind of error. We must punish the perpetrators of this fault and take the necessary measures''.

Even with three points awarded to the Algerian team, they still finished last in Group B of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers (CAF Third Round) with four points, nine less than the Super Eagles.

Nigerian Striker Obafemi Nets 18-Minute Hat-Trick As Southampton March On In FAYC

Talented Nigerian striker Michael Obafemi scored a hat-trick in Southampton's 4-1 rout of Wolverhampton Wanderers at St Mary's Stadium in the third round of the FA Youth Cup on Thursday.

Obafemi started in attack for the young Saints along with Jonathan Afolabi, while United States Soccer Federation target Owen Otasowie entered into the fray in the 83rd minute for the visitors.

Against the run of play Carr gave Wolves the lead on 23 minutes, but Southampton were back on level terms at the interval courtesy of Hamblin's goal.

Obafemi made it 2-1 in the 72nd minute, increased the lead four minutes later before scoring from the penalty spot to complete his hat-trick in the 90th minute.

Reflecting on the hat-trick, Obafemi told Southampton's official webpage:''It’s a very special night. It’s my first hat-trick for the club, so it’s onwards and upwards from here.

''We’ve not had the best results from youth level through to the first team, so it’s a big boost for the club.''

Obafemi, who has caps for Republic of Ireland U19 team, has netted 11 goals in all competitions for Southampton U18s so far this season.

Babangida: NFF Must Learn From FIFA Sanction, Avoid Repeat

By Bamidele Boluwaji:

Former Super Eagles winger Tijani Babangida has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to learn from the recent FIFA sanction of deducting a World Cup qualifying point from Nigeria and fining the NFF 6,000 Swiss francs, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The final African qualifying Group B fixture for the Russia 2018 World Cup ended in a 1-1 draw, but FIFA on Tuesday awarded all three points to Algeria following Nigeria’s use of ineligible defender Abdullahi Shehu in the encounter.

“It was a big mistake, but in my usual way, I try to learn from every situation I find myself and that is exactly what I want the NFF to do because we are just lucky that the point deducted did not affect our World Cup ticket,” the ex-international told Comple tesportsnigeria.com.

“Aside from the fine which I believe the NFF will pay, I want them to also learn that they need to be serious in everything they do, if we had not won some games in the early stage of the World Cup qualifiers, it would have been difficult now.

“I am also happy that NFF has set up a committee to look into the matter while the NFF President has also apologized to Nigerians. I think we should just learn from that, simple.”

Babangida however called on the football house to ensure they prepare well for the World Cup in Russia.

“The only thing I can say is for the NFF to prepare well for the World Cup so that they will not disappoint Nigerians.”

Nigeria will face Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in the first round of the World Cup next year.

Home Eagles Star Adeleye Out For Two Weeks, Eyes CHAN Squad

By Adeboye Amosu in Kano:

Home-based Super Eagles defender Olamilekan Adeleye is hopeful he will be fit enough to play for the team at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) after picking up a knee injury in the side’s Nigeria Professional Football League Invitational tournament fixture against Plateau United on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

Adeleye picked up the injury early in the game and was replaced by Kalu Orji.

“I was afraid it was a serious injury after I was stretchered off but tests have confirmed it is not something serious,” the central defender informed Comple tesportsnigeria.com here in Kano.

“I will be out for around two weeks which gives me the chance to stiil be part of the team for the CHAN.”

CHAN is scheduled for Morocco from January 13 to February 4, 2018.

Salisu Yusuf’s charges will face Enyimba in their next game at the NPFL invitational on Friday.
The team is expected to leave for Morocco early in January to begin full preparation for CHAN.

They are drawn in Group C along with Rwanda, Libya and Equatorial Guinea.
