Yes it's in the bible but any Christian foolish enough to cover her hair under the legal wig is unfit to be called to the Nigerian bar

Must you shove your religion in other people's face all the time

You people will not focus on your religion and leave ours. Did anybody tell you that is the actual image of Mary the mother of Jesus?

And even if Mary did cover her hair then So? Christians women are ONLY told to cover their hair during prayer so gave your religion.
Hertheywarlay:
I know it's pains you. Have you ever seen Mother of Jesus without covering her head in all the pictures you are used to seeing her? Even you were asked to do so in your Bible check 1corinthian11;3-16. Even Turban(head gear) also in Bible leviticous 8:9. but you people refuse to do so.

Still two things for you.
1. You don't quote the Bible out of context. 2 Peter 1:20
2. Ask those who quote. I don't quote from an inconsequential book. There is only one Holy Book - The Bible. No apologies

I respect your opinion, everybody has one.

I cant criticize her actions even though I'm one of the People who make compromises in their religion .............

Here is a lady who stands for what she believes in. That rule is not set in stone and has no bearing on being called to the bar.

A rule that allows a hornets' nest (or is it a viper's nest self) to be placed on a lawyer's head but will not allow you to use your everyday head covering?

Lady visionaries have started using their hijab in sports and this has not hindered their success.

Their hijab is a way of life and does not hinder their accomplishments. People seem to have more right going naked than dressing up. (all in the name of its their body)

Do you think the lab coat makes a better doctor, or the suit makes a better executive

well done thanks.

It is not, i hate to cover my hair it annoys me.My dear i am not a bigot nor am i a religious person i do not criticise people's faith because religion is a personal thing so who am i to judge.whether the bible supports it or not me i nor dey wear i am not a Jew neither am i a Corinthian.Nigeria is a secular country so no need to force the law of one religion on people's throat.Law as a profession has it's standard and must be obeyed if hijab wearing should be allowed fine none of my business.I even want them to scrap the dresscode for lawyers. The British no longer require the dresscode for their lawyers.I can't believe i would be wearing that, wearing black and white is even enough the council of legal education should scrap the dresscode for lawyers so that our Muslim sisters can wear the hijab in peace, other countries don't wear these let us all be even.

It's always a lie when the Bible is quoted but it's never one when it's the Quran.

So by your logic, worship has to done only in the church? Do you know the acutal and real meaning of a church? Can you worship your Lord while on the move? Can't you worship your Lord anywhere?

It's very compulsory. It's obvious the time you guys take in criticising other people's faith and their way of life should be invested in understanding your Bible and Christianity

Igbos and Muslims share similar attitudes. Their quick resort to playing the victims card is legendary and a study in absurdity.

Did you know that it's mandated for Christian women to cover their hair? It's very compulsory and it's in the Bible

1 Corinthians 11:6

For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

You criticise and attack Muslim women for covering their hair according to what their faith mandated for them but ignore it despite been written boldly in your own book

Isn't that hypocrisy and bigotry at it's peak??

People like that don't quote the full thing piss me off una go choose wetin please you and drop it an argument without saying the full story

4Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head-it is the same as having her head shaved. 6For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

You guys know nothing about your faith. Lemme enlighten you and others reading this piece a bit.

Your body is the church. Your body is where prayers are prayed. If the Bible says when you are praying, it simply means all the time because you are expected to pray at any freaking time at any freaking place. The kky way that can be done is when your hair is covered. It literally means, your hair MUST ALWAYS BE COVERED as a woman

Interesting, as if you've seen me quoting your Qur'an. When she applied to study law in the university she knew their dress code if she didn't like it she could as well have studied Islamic Studies but hell no, she has a jaundiced entitlement mentality. Arabs will migrate on their own from their Islamic countries to Secular Western countries and ask for sharia implementation. If sharia was your priority why not remain where you were or better still migrate to another Islamic Countries.
You can't change the world that has been existing before the existence of your religion into your religious moulds, the world isn't yours to recreate, though am from a Muslim family i still think Muslims need to realise that their right stops where others begin, if this is done the world will become a safer place

just read what u wrote up there and see how u contradicted yourself. it is written in the bible that women should cover their hair yes but if it is mandatory that the women should not cover their for them to be called to bar Christian women will obey and leave their hair open. Do you have problems with comprehension? My comment doesn't and isn't about the topic of discourse. Go back and re read what the first guy wrote. He switched completely to something else and i quoted him.

Why respond to my own comment alone and leave his? Is it because it suits you and mine doesn't?

Finally, a lady covered her hair and all you guys can do is attack his faith. Was she the only Muslim at the venue? Why use a single person attitude to make a judgment but this logic shouldnt be used if she was a Christian and had done what shouldnt be

According to the bible the head covering is the hair, only when praying and prophesy should a woman cover her hair as that is the context in which it was written(apply commonsense) .Apostle Paul was speaking about a tradition which is no longer applicable today.1 cor 11:2-16 to me is no longer applicable today I do not like to cover my head i hate it,it is a choice and besides i am not a Jew or a corinthian, am not a religious person religion is a personal thing.Read got questions or bible.org or any other thing online and you would see the argument of different scholars. It is almost similar to how not all Muslim scholars believe hijab is compulsory or why some prefer the burqa or the niqab. Not all Christian churches demand that a woman must have her hair covered in church.Queen rania al abdullah of Jordan is a Muslim and does not cover her head as she believes Islam does not support veil, she is a queen in middleastern Jordan Google her out it is her belief and she identifies as a morderate Muslim.

It's a shame no other Muslims stood by her. It's her right to wear the hijab the laws of the land allows. Just cause other Muslim judges or students that has passed through the ceremony in the past compromised shouldn't mean she should. I don't know why people feel threatened by a strong Islamic woman that stands her ground based on her religious beliefs. I stand with you Miss Firdaus. At the end of the day Allah is greater than them all.

Whilst on my National service I'd seen Muslim corpers wear their 7/7 over their head gear on duty and wear the hijab off of it.
