OR PAUSE ADMISSION MIGHT NOT WORK FOR YOU WEN IT COMES O.. AM TALKING FROM EXPERIENCE... SO BETTER GO FOR ONE AND STOP BEATING AROUND D BUSH.......

GET IT DIRECT FROM A UNIVERSITY TEACHER:
You've bn admitted to study Pharmacy. You're currently running JUPEB. You love both courses but seemingly prefers Med/Surgery. Now, go see the Registrar/Assistant Registrar of the school that gave u Pharmacy, tell him/her that you want to defer your admission for a year based on financial reasons. Do not tell him/her you're elsewhere doing JUPEB. Why you must see Registrar or Assistant is because different schools have different rules. Hear it from the ''horse's mouth''! If you stay far to assume a rule you may be caught up when you return to enforce your rights. Congratulations in advance.
thank u very much, but its still in ANSU that am doing my jupeb...

Hey guy, i did jupeb but let me tell you this, you might think the exam is simple or Jupeb is simple (Just chill coz this is first semester so they have to entice you with soft works) . going for med and surg. you need to have the whole 15 point + the 1 mark making 16 or else u might find urself in agric dept. Guy, just continue with pharmacy and dont waste your money, but if you think you can really smash Jupeb, lemme ask you, are you the best in the class? If more than 15 people are better than you the forget med surg, but if you really believe in your competency then go for med/surg. I wish you luck but if you were my lil bro, i would edify you to go for pharmacy. Best regards..Shola

im currently a medical student in Ansu and if you ask me,just go for the pharmacy..getting medicine is really hard now plus the high fees..
pharmacy is a lot better and safe..so you dont end up wasting your time.start with the pharmacy then if by God's grace you get medicine, then you switch.
Deferment is really hard here..

My own advice for you is to go for pharmacy. But if your heart is really for medicine then take Jamb again next year and see how it goes. Getting admission in this country is really tough. This jupeb is too expensive and a big risk when you consider the money.

Please guys i have been admitted to pharmacy in ANSU but i am already doing med/sug through JUPEB, as it stands i don't want to leave either of them. My plan is to combine the two of them cause from my understanding Jupeb has same course outline with year one (i may be wrong though), i know it could be very stressfull. I dont know the degree [of stress] honestly this could be very costly paying both jupeb and pharmacy school fees. I also heard that i can pay acceptance fee then write to the VC to delay my admission to 2018 towards the end of my jupeb program, i don't really know what to do i want to complete this jupeb program and also i can't let pharmacy go just like that.

Please i need experience advice. thank u guys!

Better do Pharmacy.... I did Jupeb @ unizik this year.... The exam wasn't funny but God helped me.... JUPEB ain't easy the fees the time everything and you are still no guaranteed of admission to the course you put.
Meanwhile, I hope on seeing you in class... I put pharmacy in ansu but I'm yet to get admission..... Let's chat on whatsapp +2348129550466

[quote author=sirxris post=63314886]I advise that you defer the pharmacy admission for one year. Then focus on the JUPEB during the one year. Then at the end of the year, if you couldn't measure with the direct entry requirement via JUPEB, you then go back to your earlier pharmacy admission.

this advice is so because med/surg is better than pharmacy if your head and purse can carry it. But then, if you can't get it, at least you can get the second best to it - pharmacy.

But one caveat is to never try to do both at same time. you may likely lose out on both ends if you do so because your C GPA would likely suffer.[/quote

JUPEB doesn't make use of CGPA.. It makes use of point....
A is 5
B is 4
C is 3
D is 2
E is 1
F is 0....She's going for medicine she'll write Physics /Chemistry/Biology......the cutoff for medicine is 13 points.... You're still not guaranteed of the admission oh.... Cause some that had lower points will work it or the people that got higher points are much so they'll pick the best..... In the end it's not worth it... Go for pharmacy.... Jupeb made me know how sweet it is for someone to be doing botany...

Point of correction you have only one admission which is pharmacy, Jupeb is just a program to give you admission and you are not through with it yet.

I'm very sure you are doing that your jupeb in Unizik, ask anybody that has done either jupeb, prescience or diploma in unizik,he or she will tell you how frustrating its to do stuff like that in unizik, they don't care about your admission but the money they will make from you. I did prescience in unizik,i know what am saying, i also have two 2017 jupeb results i collected for my friends sister n brother. You will be shocked if you see what they scored.

My advice, if you can pause that pharmacy and see the end of you jupeb fine, but if it won't work stick to your pharmacy
am doing the jupeb in ANSU not unizik.

Pay your school fees and defer your admission. Continue your JUPEB program. By the end of the session, you'll know where you stand. Assuming you don't make 5.0 (God forbid), you'll have your pharmacy to fall back on. you make your 5.0, MBBS tó sure.
thanks

Do you really mean you want to combine mbbs and pharmacy? This is suicidal! I'm a pharmacy student and I must say pharmacy alone will drain you if you are not strong enough. MBBS is another tough course on its own! You've already gotten admission for pharmacy while MBBS is still a hopeful stuff. Please, go for pharmacy. You may not get another chance.
what courses did u do in your year one?

Hello dear. I had to log in to give you advice on what to do. I am a medical Doctor with many years of experience. I will advise you never to rush in for any course out of desperation because one day you will be left to live with your choice. I will ask you a few question;
1) Do ye see yourself as a Pharmacist later in life?
2) Why exactly do you want to become a Med. Doctor? Is it because of fame or fortune? The answer to that will decide my next advise.
3) If no to question 2, then stick to your decision to study medicine but for safety just defer your admission to study Pharmacy after payment of acceptance fee.
4) Pray about it.
Note I entered in through the basi...
this is my fourth time, already forgone 2 admissions just to accomplish the only thing i feel my life depends on my emotions are very clear i do not see myself as a pharmacist. am now considering pharmacy b/c i think i've held on long enough still a good part of me wants 2 continue pushing

Okay... Seems you're eager to study med... like some already pointed out, I'd advice you defer your pharm admission for one yr while you pursue med through jupeb. Goodluck!

Pharmacy is far better dn MBBS. Mbbs is a profession u CNT enjoy till 12yrs frm ur graduation(since u gt b a consultant as no G.P is employed stable). Go and ask between pharmacy and MBBS which is better. Dnt ask frm diz small children in nairaland. Ask frm doctors or lecturers u would get my view. No offence BT u guys no ntin abt pharmacy. So stop d noice

Your ignorance is legendary! Pharmacists who work as medical reps earn nothing less than 150k salary per month (PCN fixed minimum salary for pharmacists). That aside. As a medical rep, his company sees him as a businessman, so he is given products at costs that will be favourable for him to make profits for himself. Meeting his targets also attracts commission which could run into millions. Did i mention that he is also given a brand new car for his movements. Working as a medical rep(for a good company) is one sure way a pharmacist who knows his onion can make fast money.

Bro, i will advise that you learn to keep your mouth shut on any subject you have no knowledge of lest you make yourself a laughing stock among those who are informed on the subject matter.

Shut up Monkey boy!!!

Tell me where I criticised a sales rep's job.
Why are you thinking with your Anus?
Read my post again and tell me where I said a sales rep's job is bad.
Who is more informed?
I was a medical sales rep for a foremost pharmaceutical giant in Nigeria for 4 years.

Again i say, Shut up Monkey boy!!

Id1otic imbeciile! Your post was very clear to me. You implied that the poster shouldn't study pharmacy because she will end up as a sales rep.

I know you type of 'medical rep'. All those B.Sc biochemistry/microbiology with zero knowledge of drugs who are employed by 'dagbo' companies, and because they can't detail products effectively to doctors and pharmacists to generate sales, they are kicked out to the bin as they don't meet target. That's your type!
The truth is that you are not qualified for the job but because some companies want to cut cost, they employ your type only to find out that you can't perform and kick your asxz out. Many companies are now realizing that the best people to do that job are Pharmacists, hence they pay them well to get the job done.

Why am i even wasting my precious time on a classless f00l like you

Get off my mention imbeciile!!!
I won't respond to you again.

Well, i am a biochemistry graduate myself now in the pharmacy profession. I had a bad experience with many biochem/microbiology graduates working in the pharm. industry where i did my IT. Those guys live in anger and beef pharmacists instead of talking to the management about whatever issues they have. It is bad!

Even that guy i quoted made his comment to mock the pharmacists, hence my reaction.

I respect those who respect themselves.

Thanks for your advice though.
