Nairalanders i need your help, i got baptised in my former church ''Exceeding Faith Mission'' in Yenagoa LGA of Bayelsa state. but due to relocation i moved to Aba, Abia state. Where i started attending ''The Redeemed Christian Church Of God(RCCG) there i am committed and devoted in services.
One of the pastors asked me if am baptised, i said Yes but that was in my former church. Though i have no certificate to prove it but i know i was baptised on that date. The pastor said for me to become a full member and get trained i need to get baptised under their mansion. But i asked the pastor do we baptise second time? He said not at all but i just need to get baptised to become their full bouyant member and get trained. Please am confuse. Should i go for the baptism or leave...... Please help

Church prostitution is your problem here. Baptism is once. Unless they are using customized bible. Church as the body of Christ should be one. Baptism is in the name of the father and son and holy spirit. Ask your pastor if his own Jesus is different from the Jesus Christ in River state. Shalom.

I don't know how church membership is executed in Nigerian churches, but in American churches, if a person begins attending a new church of the same faith or of a different denomination, then he or she can do a membership transfer...or statement of "faith" where he or she doesn't physically get baptized...but agrees to the biblical beliefs of the newly attended church or denomination.
In regards to the concept of re-baptism, there are instances where a person may have made choices or lived in direct contrast to what he/she knows Christ requires in terms of holiness.
So if a person decides to re-commit his/her life to Christ, then a re-baptism would be appropriate.
So that would be a personal choice...but it would not be wrong.
If that church has a specific way of doing things, then you need to be prayerful about either deciding "yes" or "no".

If your aim is to become a devoted member of the church,get trained by the church, get the approval of men etc then you can get baptized even 1million times if you want.

But once your aim becomes being approved by God, seeking His truth and wisdom,denying your self of worldly pleasures, taking up your cross and following Christ daily irrespective of what men might think or say then all you'll need and desire is the baptism of the Holy Spirit...

What is wrong with some churches gan self....it could be they are after your money sha......and what is your problem going from one church to another...after now you go carry problem wey u no go fit solve....since you are baptised once don't think it neccsary to be baptised again....and if they insist then you bid the church farewell and relocate to another church since you sabi waka from church to church...

Are you a prostitute? Why should u be transferred from God to another God , god is one omniscient, probably u were serving juju before or a Muslim previously, as a Christian you should know your basics, you are only baptised once, no follow any other than what is prescribed in the book of life, if other than that pls return back to the Catholic Church and go to Jerusalem and spend 3 months reading texts , you will laugh at most pastors wen they whined u with funny stories like this, kai pastor don see blind sheep oooo.
