AgentOfAllah:The bolded is Perhaps the question that should be asked first. As far I am aware, it's to promote discipline within its members. With certain professions, certain level of discipline is required and as such there are cultures put in place to promote that level of discipline. A soldier would not stand on a parade with beret bent sideways and claim bending his beret does not interfere with him performing his duties. The link might not explain how wearing an hijab stops her from performing her duties but it states clearly that her actions are wrong. If she wishes to change the status quo then she has to get in first. Now my reasons might be inadequate that is why personally I am waiting to hear from the NBA themselves. 2 Likes |

Limitednow:Your coment is not a reasonable contribution to this thread, all she is demanding is the freedom of practice of her religion. Her dress code is not in anyway out of place, I believe there are reasonable people working on rectifying the error. |

Dindondin: Stop abusing everyone!! Everyone with his or her opinion! I can see that you are more pained than those that stops her calling to Bar. You use your brain yet u cannot reason her wearing hijab (very moderate) doesn't stop anything!! Moreover, everyone has been claiming she violated rules of NBA but have not showed us where the law says wearing of hijab is prohibited. 1 Like 1 Share |

God, the only God I know, the Father of Jesus Christ, Creator of Heaven and Earth is MORE INTERESTED in our hearts. I heard she insulted the people who approached her. If this is true, which is more of A SIN? Not wearing hijab or abusing people or breaking the agreement you reached that you will abide by rules of the institution when you were admitted as a student. Is it God you're trying NOT TO offend by insisting on wearing hijab to a place where you signed in agreement to comply by the rules yet you are now reneging and throwing tantrums? I doubt it. God is Spirit, my sister. It is not the wearing of hijab that will make him throw you out of heaven. It's not as if you're dancing naked or guilty of indecent exposure. May God help you o. My advice to you in to give your life to Christ and come out of darkness. I have a feeling you're on Nairaland reading the stuff posted here. God bless. 1 Like |

erico2k2:but the man is always under the influence of a religion either divine, conventional or materialism and as you rightly said that law are made by man but the rules of religion are divine especially Islam. this rule of divine supersede any other man made Law. |

smoy:This is why religion is personal, it cant be enforced hence it cant govern a society as not everyone would agree, let those who agree converge to worship as they so please.when you enforce it on others it becomes extreem! 1 Like |

Antina:I v not even abused you or anyone. I only called your attention to the use of your intellect. I v used my own brain to decipher that if she chose to dress moderate with ijab, it's fine. But for her to deliberately challenge the Nigerian Bar Association dress code by violating their law, she deserves to be rejected. And instead of MURIC to condemn her statement that she wore ijab deliberately, they are running around crying Islamophobia. Una better dey appoint sane people to MURIC. 2 Likes |

Limitednow:What has wearing hijab got to do with boko haram.Either you like it or not Islamic policies must be respected. Nobody will force you to be a Muslim but you can't be against someone religion.so, focus on what you believe in. Either idol worship or Christianity .you have right and freedom of worship .Pls stop criticising her. |
Re: Amasa Firdaus: Why I Wore The Hijab Intentionally To Bar Ceremony by AgentOfAllah: 3:49pm On Dec 17, 2017 |
Geist: Please tell me how wearing the hijab inhibits discipline in the legal profession? Did you even read the link you provided? The argument in that link has nothing to do with this case at all. That link presents a judgement that argues against adjudicatory roles for courts in disputes regarding the rules of voluntary associations. The Nigerian law school is an institution established by the Legal Education Act of Nigeria. It is stated in the link that "The Council of Legal Education runs the Nigeria Law School and all persons who have obtained a University degree in law and want to practice as lawyers in Nigeria, must attend the Nigerian Law School" To the best of my knowledge, the language conveys anything but voluntarism. Thus, the Nigerian law school is not a voluntary association, thus, is subject to the regulations and oversight of the Nigerian legal system. |
