Those of you watching Barca v Depo can see why Cristiano Ronaldo would never be able to clean Messi's booths. Messi just burned the Depo defenceline and instead of tapping the ball into the net, he switched it over to Luis Suarez to tap in .... because he knew that Suarez needed that goal more than him.

FACT: This is something Cristiano Ronaldo would not do to save his life.

Have a like.

That there is even a debate on who is better between Messi and Ronaldo is testament to the great work of the media and the outstanding marketing abilities of Real Madrid and FIFA. Keeps things interesting. Messi winning ballon dor 10 times in a row would definitely bore the shiiitss outta everyone. So, yeah, let's give it to Ronaldo every now and then.

True. I totally agree. But I am sure it won't come to that, both sides would've qualified before that game. That final game would only determine the group winners between us and the Argies. This Argentine team would be ready and unstoppable by next summer. Mark my words!

To be quite honest with you, I will probably support Messi. The world owns Messi a World Cup. It would be absurd for the Greatest Player of All Time to retire without winning the biggest silverware of them all.

I may probably cry and refuse to eat the day (if) Argentina gets knocked out in Russia next year. It would mirror the way I felt when Denmark broke Nigeria's hearts in France 1998. I can still remember that day very well - Slava, my Russian gf at that time thought that I was going into a deep depression. I didn't I refused to eat for 2 days or so.

this your Messi obsession is as bad as GoodJoe's Pep obsession. I'm praying for you.

Meanwhile, the world owes him nothing. Make FIFA kukuma tell other countries not to come to World Cup and dash Messi the trophy since the world owes him something undecided

Form can either be short lived or long lived. It’s not feasible that we invite only based on form at every given point in time. If I were the coach, I will monitor a new player for at least 6 months and if he is pretty consistent RELATIVELY, he gets my invite
Kog45:
That's my point 'PREFERENCE'cos if we want to base it on form i don't think they deserves it,meaning if Ideye is in good list of Rohr's preference players he would definitely make the team irrespective of his form or what do you think

The only positive I can draw from this Chan Eagles is that it's a team with reasonable amount of youngsters and they (the youngsters) are doing pretty good.

Just look at Falaye and then Nura. When I saw Faleye's pic, I said to myself "yea that's what it should be". He is a kid and he looks it through and through.

I just hope Ajiboye is getting a reasonable amount of game time also.

Really sad what Alampasu is going through at lowly Feirense. Currently, he doesn't make the bench for the first team neither does he play for the youth team. I just pray his growth doesn't stagnate.

It took a Messi last minute magic for them to qualify, they will probably need another last minute magic, but it will not be enough this time.

There is no cohesion to the team, no team work, just a bunch of great individual players

You won't be making this naïve statement if you actually understand how the whole selection process goes. Can you recall what happened in 2013? And how Blatter later confessed that he extended the voting period to improve Cristiano Ronaldo's chances of winning and even went as far as encouraging people to change their votes.

I hope you're not too young to remember. That's the year I stopped taking Ballon d'Or and any associated individual awards serious.

My sister it happens in almost every world cup in modern times.. a big name goes down at the early stage.. And I have a feeling it will be Argentina this time.
I heard Messi was talking down on our defense. It would just be a formality match for us when we meet again. And I expect our boys to play their hearts out one more time against them.. When we settle this matter finally, it will be the end of WC draw madness, always pitching us against Argentina.

Nne, I think football owes Messi the big one. To the purists like us, Messi was the man who saved football after the retirement of Ronaldihno.

And btw, I rooted against Brazil in South Africa 2010 just because Dunga decided to leave Ronaldihno out of the squad.

lol, because Messi no win am?

So, in 2010, when Messi got the award over Sneijder despite doing nothing to merit it, you did not question the award, then the year Messi did not win, you suddenly realised it's shady?

This Messi obsession is just making you look ridiculous undecided

Maybe he will find a new home soon, and continue his development.

The chances of Messi winning the world cup with Argentina is less than Emmanuel Emenike making our WC team.

if we don't win Argentina, FIFA will keep grouping us with them. We must defeat them to escape the Curse of the Argies grin

By the time they crash out in group stage, Messi will retire from international football for good because he's sensitive like that smiley
