Now my question is....is going to higher institutions a Scam,Cause the more we see now@days.....80% of graduate don't work nor ball in their field of studies,,,Why the need of Going to School??

Alot out there are making it without going to school,And those that went keep on striving to survive....

Don't you think that in the situation of things,SCHOOL IS LIKELY A SCAM

Don't mind my Errors

An educated person cannot be an illiterate what you mean is the person got a quack education.

A school certificate isn't proof of education mind you.

In Nigeria school doesnt matter. Have you ever heard a first class graduate in the US looking for Job? Its mathematically impossible. But in Nigeria ....you know the rest.

Fxcking shiithole.

Going thru University is jst to make that person not feel inferior amongst his or her colleagues, aside that nothing more.

Education is not same as academic qualification, u can have all necessary academic qualification and stil not be educated. To succeed in life u have to be educated in any field of endeavour

No.

Students are the scam. If you go they to copy and paste it's a scam. If you go there to learn it isn't.

Expect I g a cushy job immediately after school then you haven't learnt anything.

I always found this hard to believe that lecturers would blatantly fail.anybody who doesn't pay up to them. It's not true.

Copy and paste was used figuratively. What I meant is cram and pour without understanding the principles.

Ps many students today take school as some form of grooving exercise to receive a certificate after 4 years.

Many aren't mentally suited for the courses they are studying but do so against all odds.

Many factors made me say they are scam. People still wiggle out thier way.

As for education ( not lecturers) it's not a scam.

Those ones are called functional illiterates 'cause they're educated to an extent. Inorder to answer your question, if education is a scam 'cause some educated people aren't gainfully employed, try illiteracy.
Re: Is School A Scam?? by smulti(m): 7:55pm On Dec 19, 2017
Every thing boils down to bad leadership and corruption in the country over the past years

Government create enable environment for businesses that absorbs the labour force to thrive, but in Nigeria reverse is the case

check out the millions of bread winners that lost their jobs in this present administration alone

starting your own business comes with a huge cost in an environment with no constant power supply

What do you mean by "refine people" because I know their are lot of people today who never saw the four walls of university doing well in their businesses .. growing and expanding and even speaks and write good English than most of the so called graduates we have in the country today ..

Guy let me leave it at this.

It's a matter of choice. If you want to go to school go don't let anyone convince you otherwise. If you don't want to go to school don't go and don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

Don't need anyone to prove to you if school is a scam or not. You should be able to decipher that for yourself. If you cannot then there's no need to go to school.

Well, education in the broad sense of the word is not a scam. In Nigeria, people erroneously confine the definition of education to the walls of schools whether primary, secondary or tertiary. However, education encompasses vocational training (e.g. electrical works, tailoring, hairdressing etc) and even business apprenticeship (popularly called igba-bonyi in Igboland).

In the final analysis, especially within the Nigerian context, I think tertiary education (in universities, polytechnics and colleges of education) is a scam. I think so because I've observed that in this 21st century, you can educate yourself both online and offline by reading relevant books and watching YouTube videos. If you're determined enough in your self-education, people will even assume you're a graduate when they see your handiwork and hear you speak using the appropriate terminology/jargons. Better still, companies will choose your expertise/experience over a graduate's certificate. Best of all is that in the long run you'll employ the first-class graduates to work for you. I think men like Innoson clearly exemplify what I'm trying to say here.

This my opinion doesn't apply to professional courses like medicine and engineering o! Lol.

What's the ratio of well-doing people who could read and write without a degree to those who do?. It's an insignificant fraction. Not being able to speak good English doesn't make anyone unrefined. There's difference between being educated and speaking wrong English 'cause last I checked, Chinese don't speak English and they're considered to be the smartest in the world. English isn't our first language so that's understandable but the question is, what kind of a graduate in an English speaking country can't speak good English?. Having said that, certificates comes in handy at moments people least expect it, if tomorrow a good opportunity presents itself to be gainfully employed with a good pay, what would you do?. You see why I think your dropping out of school may not be the best decision or you should endeavour to go back later. On a second thought, who am I to tell you that?.
