Going by the video clip and from what the preacher implied, he said "there is no place in the Bible were it mentioned that tithe and offerings are compulsory but it takes personal conviction and maturity to pay your tithe above 10%. In essence, tithing,offering, giving to the needy among others is based on personal conviction and not compulsion. But it doesn't change the fact that there is open heaven since it is a condition when you pay your tithe. Had it being those anti tithers had argued from this direction, it would have being better. They based their argument based on the fraudulent practices by most preachers.

It is good to have records but it shouldn't be used against members like some churches do. That is one of the reasons some persons prefer envelopes than church card when paying offerings and tithe

Just as salvation is a personal decision, so also is the principle of tithe... people with the genuine love of God in their heart give to God bountifully without regret.
