kunmi5: 1. Hopefully today and is likely to be the last for the year 2. No one knows for a certainty. However conclusions drawn from trend analysis show that draws happen fortnightly on Wednesdays. There have been deviations from this in the past though |

Good morning good people, please I'm based in Ilorin, how do I go about remarking my IELTS before the deadline given to remark expires. Candid response will be much appreciated. Thank you. |

I've searched the questions regarding pension being used as POF but my question is slightly different. Am still employed and we have a staff provident fund in which i currently have more than enough money for my POF. This money will be available to me in full as soon as i resign which i only want to do after receiving my PPR. Am wondering if this will be accepted as POF if i can attach all necessary statements and write ups. Not sure if it has been answered before but i've searched the pages before and only seen answers on pension yet mine is not. Deebay: 1 Like |

solomonsny: I think I've read that this is even better than the pension fund. I'm almost sure this is what the Indians use. Try and read CanadaVisa forum and see if it's the same thing. I would get the fine print though that backs up your claim should you decide to use it. Goodluck! 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by 4Barr: 8:30am On Dec 20, 2017 |
solomonsny: The Staff provident fund or gratuity fund as in other companies is even better than Pension funds as you are entitled to it upon disengagement from employment and you dont have to wait for 4months as in the case of pension funds. However, since it is not frequently used, your reference letter from the trustees of the fund must clearly state that you will have access to the funds IMMEDIATELY YOU RESIGN and state CLEARLY how much you will be entitled to. It may also help if you can get them to state that you are not currently indebted to the company in anyway that cause them to place a lien on the balance. 8 Likes |

Guitarlife: You question here is ambiguous. 1. If the question is whether or not your pension can constitute more than 25% of your Proof of Funds - Yes it can 2. If the question is whether or not you can collect more than 25% of your pension - No you can't. even AVC has been changed effective December 1st 2017 as you can only access 50% of AVC remittance within the last two years of contribution and the remaining balance is locked until retirement. 1 Like |

kunmi5: Mcstan18 already answered your questions. 1) We expect that there will be a draw today. It is is usually between 9am and 2pm Canadian time. This will likely be the last for the year 2) Mostly done on Wednesdays fortnightly but there have been deviations. Some have been within one week of each other, some three weeks with the longest being about a month this year 2 Likes |

Let's look at it this way, they need N7.5M, they have N5m already. They can resign when they are ready to leave and go with the N5m and then get the N2.5m 4months later...they will still have access to their Nigerian accounts. So, for POF, if pension fund is just to supplement an existing sum, not the bulk of it, it should be fine. This has been discussed exhaustively on this thread. Threemg: 5 Likes |

I am not sure if this is related but I would really like some concrete information and advice on what I am about to type. My husband came back last night and told me that it may be possible for us to be able to get a work permit if we enroll our son into a private school in Canada. Our son is 3 years old. Can a 3 year old be given a student visa? If yes, I being his mum and guardian would be given what? Does anyone living in Canada or Nigeria know anything about this? If yes, what Province should I start looking for schools for him? Thanks guys |

kunmi5: CRS cut off has been as low as 413 (May 31) and there has been 433 as recent as September 20. Check here to view the history of the CRS scores. cc @muslimity Reading cannot be over emphasised. [quote author=nairacrusader post=63446122]I am not sure if this is related but I would really like some concrete information and advice on what I am about to type. I know nothing about this route, but I don’t think there would be such as study visa for a 3 years old as they are expected to still be in nursery. You and yours can try reading up on the EE application, it’s a more straight forward way to migrate to Canada. Read up on page 0 of this thread and later ask questions of things you’re not clear about. |

teelawwy: You think anyone was going to sugarcoat responses to give you false hopes before? We're honest but humane in our communications here. To your question, it depends on where you sat your test. If Ibadan, Lagos or Abeokuta, I believe the controlling office for the south-west region is Lagos. So you may have to take a trip to Ikoyi with the TRF, passport and bank draft of 15k in favor of British council. The rest would be sorted out there. |

Raconteur14: Chai. If there is a draw today that could have favored my score, it will be very disappointing. I'm not yet in the pool as I haven't received my TRF yet. How long will it take for BC to send it to me? I wrote in PH but I don't live there. Or should I just travel down there, would they give it to me? |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Newmum0615: 9:14am On Dec 20, 2017 |
Good morning. Saw a post saying that you only need to present a letter showing 6 months pension funds balance and then highlighting 25% of that as POF. How true is this? My thought were that the 25% applies to the total amount you have so far as pension funds. So say you have 5M as total pension funds, wouldnt the 25% be on the 5M or it will it be on a 6 months balance of say 850k? The thing is confusing. 4Barr: |

cochtrane: It is actually a little less than 6 months and I was told the passport my be returned to me. Anyway I have started processing a new passport and should still meet the deadline. I guess I have to explain that I have a new passport with a different number, do I write a letter explaining this to the same email above? Thanks in advance |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by 4Barr: 9:21am On Dec 20, 2017 |
Newmum0615: Its quite straightforward actually. The 25% of the total Retirement Savings Account balance is available to you. You are only attaching your six month RSA statement just as in the case of a bank account. That you only attached a six months bank statements doesn't erase the fact that you have access to the entire sum. Monthly remittance into your pension account is usually the same except you were promoted and at which the required percentage may change so there is nothing to worry about really. Get a letter from your PFA stating that you can have access to your RSA within four months of disengagement in line with the PRA 2014 then attach your six months RSA statement (this will show monthly remittance in the last six months, the total contribution till date, income earned till date and total balance) You don't need to worry about a statement on indebtedness as Pension funds are not subject to lien for repayment of debt not even to your employer. Is it less confusing now? 3 Likes |

Saintp: Oga put on your swimsuit and dive into that pool already. Who told you that TRF is a sine qua non to entering the pool? A few pages back, someone detailed how to generate the TRF number and that works perfectly cos I went ahead to verify with a friend's. If not for the silly 7.5 in the Listening test of December 2, I'd have been swimming in lane 430. I actually created my profile long before the results came out knowing very well that I can always edit the scores so long as the revamp doesn't take me below the ITA score for that round. Brother, you have only a few hours to do this. Make hay while the sun is still up and don't forget to come back for your testimony and tithe 2 Likes |

nairacrusader: The bolded is ludicrous in my opinion. For starters, children don't start school till they turn 4 ( some provinces allow it if they turn 4 by the end of that year) My advise is to read up on the FSW/ FST/ PNP and see which route you and your hubby can pursue to immigrate to Canada. Start from page 0 of this thread. Goodluck. 2 Likes |

Newmum0615, the lady we were referring to already has N5m out of N7.5m needed for family of 4, I then asked if the 25% of their pension fund will be up to N2.5m, Let me rephrase my question 'is their joint pension fund up to N10m? 25% of N10m will give N2.5M needed. Newmum0615: |

Hello everyone, I actually wrote the Dec 2 exam, and truth is I have been sad since then. The result: LRSW: 7.5, 7.5, 8, 7.5 I sincerely believed I did better than what I got for L and R, because I cannot imagine dropping over 6 questions for both of them. While statistics for upgrade of L and R is not particularly favourable, there are a few exceptions and I am seriously considering this route. Please, I would like to find out if anyone has collected their TRF, as I would need it to apply for remarking. The only challenge I have is with the time frame, of which if there is no upgrade, before I will be able to write another exam may not be earlier than April. By my initial projection, I would have been entering the pool today, even though my projected score is far from current realities at 425. mcstan18: |
