Nigerian like getting busy..... So it's no longer #EndSars it's now #Closegtbank account.... All of a sudden nairalanders now claiming to own millions in gtbank and are being charged double d amount they have in d bank. Even inoson havent and perhaps won't close his account with the bank as d dispute will surely be resolved outside d whole media noise and all. So close your gtbank account today and take it to which ever bank you feel offer u the best services but dnt come ND be disturbing us here with ur imaginary account balance....... After all, by Friday max, this news is off d media and another will keep Nigerians busy again.

Lol.

People just think readers are fools.

When the business is a 4 x 4 container, and sales are on cash only, it is easy to change bank. Especially as the real bank is usually a hole in the floor.

GTBank would lose thousands of customers directly and indirectly. People on Nairaland are talking nonsense, how many of them here could afford over 400k as bank charge every month but many guys I know are doing it.

I need to show you evidence.

A loan is a loan weda bad or good one... An equity investment is an equity investment.

If GTbank (like you).. wanted to own the company they know what to do... they buy up their stock.

it's no brainer. even my little niece knows this fact.

GTFOH dude. Until NestOil pays back the loan facility to GTbank in full the bank will have a claim over that property, that's a no-brainer. Now get the fvck off my mention. I can't stand retards.

Igbos are relatively few in GT Bank. Less than 10% of the workforce. And lawsuits can follow there. Beware of slippery slopes. This is a corporation and not a person. The approach to deal with issues should never take on a personal vendetta. The corporation will lose once all is said and done.

ProWalker:

Igbos are the most clannish people on the surface of this world.
If I were Gtbank, for every account closed by an Igbo, an Igbo will get the boot out of the bank.

Nor should it take a tribal coloration like Ibos are painting it.
Igbos are relatively few but are in thousands with other hundred of thousands depending on them, are they ready to be the collateral damage?

Closing such accounts will never come from a FB call from one facebooker.

@POLITICSNGR

A man identified as Chukwudi Iwuchukwu has allegedly shut down his bank account with Guaranty trust bank following the recent issue the bank has with Innoson motors boss, Chief Innocent Chukwuma.

It will be recalled that Chukwuma was arrested by the Economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC, in Enugu on Tuesday morning. He accused GTB of being behind his ordeal because of a debt the bank owed him.

Iwuchukwu took to Facebook to announce his decision;

This morning, I walked into the nearest GTB branch and requested for a form to close our company account with them.

The gorgeous lady who attended to me wanted to know why I was closing the account and moving the funds to Zenith bank.

I told her is very simple! I’m taking this action as a form of protest to the bank for the way they handled the Innoson saga and most importantly, for victimizing the man simply because of business transaction that went wrong.

Not only this, I have been on the phone since morning talking to 2 of my friends who are billionaires and who have billions of their company’s fund with the bank to move it as well.

Thank God they have done that, one authorized his accountant to move the funds from GTB to first bank, the other one from GTB to Zenith bank

The lady was dazed and I think it is very important the management of GTB get this memo.

I’m not a tribalist, I avoid tribal sentiments
but you see there is a limit to what you see and observe happening to your people without taking action to protest.

What Innoson is going through in the hands of GTB is corporate wickedness and witchcraft.

I call on young And older entrepreneurs who have their business funds in that bank should move it today, not tomorrow but today in solidarity with our brother, jewel and one of our brightest son who slept in EFCC custody last night because of GTB.

We need to boycott GTB for being a useless bank and boycott them for good.

They are not the only bank in Nigeria.

Nonsense!

of course I was about opening our new company account with GTBank yesterday before this news broke out and as it stands, we won't continue, I think Fidelity bank will be the next home.

GTBank will lose more viable and promising billionaires and business investments because of this unscrupulous act. I said it earlier but some fools here were quoting me saying nonsense....this is just the beginning.

Senate have wade into the situation. They plainly criticize GTbank action.

2nd... Most Igbo people are shareholders IN GTbank, most bank with GTbank.

it's not a tribe thing.

My concern is why use EFCC to attack your customer. It's madness.

I don't care of whose tribe person is involved.

dont doubt this news. A friend who resides abroad and have investment worth millions plus fixed debosit + Dom account worth nothing less than $200,000 was asking me about this Innoson GTbank saga and after we finished talking on phone, he told me that as soon as he returns back to Nigeria next 2 days, that he's heading to GTBank to withdraw all his investment with them. He was so pissed.

Don't think this won't have negative effect on GTBank business image....when 100 people with investments worth say $200,000 each pulls out of GTBank, then they will feel the impact.

Also some middle class customers will pull out from GTBank because this Xmas, this will be top issue to be discussed in community gathering and friends meetup which will make it travel far.

Until GTBank starts to retrench or start to owe that's when you will understand the effect of this nonsense action they took.

Why involve efcc in this issue

Seriously, if Buhari wins come 2019, it shows Nigerians are all fools!!!

The country is totally messed beyond repair
