I think NFF should intensify moves to approach some of these players now.

Tosin Adarabioyo - Manchester City

Dominic Solanke - Liverpool

Lookman Ademola - Everton

Kehinde Tosin - Manchester United

I think we have to forget the past and still approach Tammy Abraham. After all, Zaha also shuned Ghana before he latter turned out for them.

Awards are what they are. Hardly you can have an individual award which satisfies all parties. Yaya Toure even felt aggrieved PEA won APOTY ahead of him.

Grammies, Oscars, BET and the likes have witnessed some controversies in the past, more still to come in future. It is very human to feel hard done, when things dont go your way.
However, going out of your way to present unsubstantiated, cooked up and frivolous claims as evidence of prejudice in a court of public opinion, of well read people can never stand. I'm sorry
no pattern, no criteria.

I don't know who is presenting frivolous data....every comparison is in a bid to understand the angle of qualification.

And so far, nothing has been established. So, is it not fact that there is no definite criteria for winning CAF awards?

PS: I stopped taking the white people Oscars and the Grammy seriously a long time ago...at this point, award shows have no meaning to me because they are all shady and lack proper merit

Approaching Tammy Abraham again would be a disgrace, an insult to a country like Nigeria.

My question is... Why was Eto given the award in 2003? Are you saying this was based on his past achievements?
he cannot say why Etoo was given because he cannot tell the criteria used for these things

The argument is just going zigzag because NOBODY on this thread knows how CAF selects the APOTY.

This then means that they can give it to anybody they deem fit.

Forget. Tammy Abraham is a very good striker and don't forget he is just 19.

I hope we approach him now that his stock has gone down.

Don't you think the WC could tempt them now?

Honestly, these boys are really good.

I agree with the @bolded. Anyhow, we need Tammy Abraham in our SE.

Iwobi didn't reject Nigeria, same with Victor Moses.

Tammy Abraham's case is a serious one, he rejected and made it clear that Nigeria was never in his plan.

If we should accept him now , then his likes can go on and try their lucks in their country of birth and come back when they lose form.

that's what you get...when this lad are begged to come play for us..

let us carry ourselves wit pride alittle and let this lad long for us also....we are not dearth of talents in this country though we been having management problems......

This isn't what I hoped for when I decided to join this thread. There's always unnecessary banter between folks here over either half baked arguments or weird arguments that lead to ish.. Didn't expect all this.

Only Kehinde has expressed some form of interest(think his coach said he'd pick us). Tosin has rejected us twice already.
Solanke is a no go and a total waste of time. That guy doesn't give a shit about naija
Lookman is probably 50/50. Still think he will wait till he's a bit older before he commits.
NFF will not go after Tammy again. That one na closed case.

Are you sure about the above? There are a lot of players out there begging to be called up and u want us to continue chasing the Queen's boys, from Ryan sanusi to Cyril desser even the one in NEC forgotten his name are begging for attention.
I will advise we leave the Queen's boys let them show interest first, don't want that Tammy embarrassment again.

FIFA is FIFA, CAF is CAF.

Ok, let me agree you thought Eto won AFCON in 2004 hence your wrong submissions. grin

Let me also agree Eto was the best in 2004/2005 season but can you pls explain what he did to win the award for the 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 season?

Oh! I remember he played for middle table Mallorca then. grin
14 in 30 league games 02/03
17 in 32 league games 03/04
Very good numbers for a mid table striker and we all know that was earned him his move to barca the next season. Let's not forget he was considered among the top 3 strikers in LA liga that period.
