People that answer Inibehe and protest are like five-and-six. The quality of essay you wrote up there can fetch you Postgraduate scholarship from Chevening etc. Always carry out research about a school before you enrol for a programme because you might change little to nothing no matter how agrieved you are. I feel your pain all the same but like Immanuel Kant will say, we have no excuse for actions we take because all actions are by themselves optional. You chose PG in UNIUYO even when you had all the options in this life. 3 Likes |

I graduated from this school. I can relate with what the OP is experiencing. I swore not to have anything good or bad to do with UNIUYO. The lecturers feel if you graduate on time or graduate with good grades, that you will snatch their jobs from them. So the work towards frustrating that fear. But, my prayer is that they will receive divine wisdom to do right. Their mindset is major problem. They school should start by compulsorily retiring 80% of their academic staffs, 100% of their non academic staffs. Selah...... 1 Like |

@op; The same reason I swore never to have my Master programme in Nigeria. In fact, that was the best decision I have ever made in my life. Studying in the western world would avail you the opportunity to explore issues that are relevant in our world today... not some rigid and antiquated curriculum that is prevalent in the Nigerian educational system. 2 Likes |

It would have been better if the op did not mention his name to avoid further delays. Anyways as my people would say a one eyed person is the king in a village inhabited by the blind. UI is the best in Nigeria for post graduate studies. 3 Likes |

Dasherz:I've been following your conversations with kimbraa. I don't know where she is getting her information from. I did my B.Eng - Chemical Engineering in UNIUYO. Accuse them of anything but tribalism and native language. It never happened. 1 Like 1 Share |

I'm a victim of UNIUYO delay. A school I graduated from, which gave me my final result for my NYSC frustrated me out of the system when I went back for post-graduate programme. I was given a provisional admission, only for me to receive the shock of my life after my course work. I was told that my provisional admission had elapsed because the same school I graduated from and which gave me my final result could not find my transcript. It's that bad. 2 Likes |

Lastborn0074: At my alma mater, DELSU, PG applicants that graduated from the school do not even need to submit transcripts. Why should you get a transcript from your own alma mater in order to study at the PG level? This is bad. |

kimbraa:...if you were to school in the west you have no other choice because Yoruba is the language of choice official or otherwise ...i know the typical ibibio man will speak English doesn't have a problem with that and definitely will not discriminate base on language difference ...my passing thought is focus on your studies and you will get what you laboured for that's what UNIUYO is known for |

bobokunlexzy: When I see people especially youths post this kind of pessimistic comment on social media, it breaks my heart. This might not be the best place for him to complain, but what exactly do you mean, all lizards crawl so he should just condone the mess and try to come out with exactly? kimbraa: Really? Lol I thought it was schools in states with major languages (yoruba, hausa and igbo) that do that. Somehow it feels good to know a state in the South does it. I have seen lecturers speak a whole chunk of yoruba language in class, in a federal university in the West. It wasn't funny. |

hrykanu231: I have also heard of the issues plaguing UNICAL. I have colleagues there and their plight is even worse, in addition to the extortion that happens there. Let us hope that Nigerians, especially Southerners, begin to learn how to embrace modernity and change. Some of these archaic mentality and mindsets have to go. |
