I will really feel bad if Aina should miss the world cup party.

Why if I may ask please? Mind u, even Nura is pushing for recognition and if he starts playing for Roma next month, he would be in contention. Roma fans are already clamoring for him as Perez and Florenzi haven't really been great and Karlsdop has spent more time on the treatment table than on the training pitch. Aina should sit up because that right back position has the most competition in the Eagles presently. No sentiments bro. Rohr no dey pity any man oo.

securing a move to France does not mean Sokari will come good for us.

Securing the move will give him an opportunity to stake a place, it will not give him a place

Yea dats true but I meant coming good after securing a move. Coming good after being assessed from a close range.

Lol isi okpukpu, I ga-alotakwa ekeresimesi? Hahaha I dey go Arochukwu and Ohafia this Xmas oo grin

March is a long time away, isn't it?

It's only but less than 90 days away
But tbh I think organising 2 friendlies in March would be cool.
Though Amaju hinted at 4 friendlies, we know of Poland and England (March and June respectively).
I just hope we have 2 friendlies in March even if it's with a team that didn't make the WC.

Yes he is, that's the position begging for personnel(s) in that midfield. If Sokari comes good (secures a move to France), then, we would have a better sub in him for John Mikel. The few times Ndubuisi Agu subbed Mikel, our midfield crumbled and it lead to calls for Joel Obi, Azubuike Okechukwu et al.

Come March, I would wanna say thank goodness for the emergence of Sokari.

Off topic; From an insider, Rohr is making progress with his pursuit of the German trio. I heard they were sent a template to study the plans of the coach and how they will fit in. Rohr is seriously considering the 3-5-2 formation and OLA Aina might miss the World Cup. It's a straight battle between Aina and Shehu whoever does better in the scrimmages gets the nod to join Ebuehi who has booked his ticket with his impeccable performance against Argentina. Aina is better going forward when we play four at the back but Shehu defends better, it's a pussle (Rohr's headache).

Fingers crossed ; if Rohr succeeds in luring these boys before March, then expect this rearguard against Poland ;

I feel bad for this young man. What's happening to him.

He was dropped from the 2014 WC squad, and I wondered what Keshi was thinking. Had a fair outing at the Olympics. I pray his career takes a leap out of the doldrums.

Super Eagles forward terminated his contract with Konyaspor

Dec 22, 2017 6:52 AM

Super Eagles forward, Imoh Ezekiel, has officially terminated his contract with his Turkish outfit, Konyaspor over breach of agreement according to reports.

The 24-year-old Ezekiel who has one cap for Nigeria has failed to rediscover his goalscoring form he has during his spell in Belgium where he scored 35 goals from 140 appearances in Jupiler but Konyaspor is not treating striker very well in the last six months according to his agent, Haji Liammed Gafaar.

“Imoh has terminated his contract and he is a free player now,” Gafaar told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“All what he was promised by Konyaspor when he signed, none of them were fulfilled, and in those conditions it’s difficult for a young player like Imoh to thrive. He is a young player with a lot of potentials.”

Ezekiel signed a three year deal with Konyaspor worth £3.75m last summer from Qatari side, Al Arabi where gone to made 9 appearances and no single goals before he terminated his deal with the club.

Torunarigha – My father told me to shun Nigeria for Germany

EMMANUEL OKOGBA
21 MAY 2017

Highly rated German-Nigerian defender Jordan Torunarigha has confirmed his father Ojokojo Torunarigha told him playing for Germany is best for his career than representing Nigeria.

•Torunarigha
As reported, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) approached the 19 year old Hertha Berlin left back to switch allegiance to Nigeria from Germany where he has played at four different youth levels.

However his father Ojokojo who played 12 games for Nigeria in the 80’s revealed he told Nigeria that his son is not interested. A claim which Jordan has now confirmed.

Jordan is yet to team up with the Germany U-20 team at the World Youth Championship in South Korea due to the club duties, and he reckons progressing through the ranks at Germany is his aim.

“ I was told of the interest from Nigeria by my father but as someone who has played for Nigeria in the past, he advised me to focus on progressing through the ranks with Germany instead of considering a switch to Nigeria “, he said.

My Oga is insider saying Felix Uduokhai, Kevin Akpoguma, Jordon Torunarigha are sure bet to WC?If that's the case then am seeing repeated performance of 2014 meaning some players who sacrificed for the team during qualifier likely to be dropped for FB.

Initially what we thought here was a keeper, a midfielder and an attacker to beef up the team but now defenders. But with your info now likely for us to have new set of players.

Sir with your comment it seem Rohr has settled for 3-5-2 formation and is looking for players to prosecute it which paved way for the likes of Uduokhai, Akpoguma, Toru.

I hope it works out cos am sensing danger cos we had a system that made us qualified for WC but it seems 45 minutes performance against Argentina is changing things now and Rohr should remember we have Argentina to contend with who are a great performance at WC no matter what,Croatia is there which w not be an easy match cos it would determine our stand in the group, also Iceland very unpredictable match.

This is great news. I really hope we get them. Would be sad if one of Shehu or Aina gets dropped. I like them both and hope it's possible to take all 3 but we have Idowu to consider and from the looks of it, Echejile is guaranteed a spot on the team.

The only way Shehu and Aina makes it to the WC is if Shehu takes the place of a midfielder, which is unlikely.

very somehow.

I don't even think we should add more than one person to the lost of the defenders.

In case manybhave forgotten, we still have just five midfielders and the defenders are up to ten currently, we will now add three to make it thirteen competing for 7-8 spots?

The Nigeria Football Federation is left disappointed as coach rejects women's job

By Oluwashina Okeleji

Randy Waldrum previously managed Trinidad and Tobago's national women's team.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has expressed its disappointment that Randy Waldrum has rejected the chance to become coach of the women's national team.

Waldrum and the NFF failed to agree terms for the American to succeed Florence Omagbemi in the role, despite an announcement from the federation in October.

Earlier this week the 61-year-old opted to accept a new role as the head coach of the University of Pittsburgh women's team.

"I'm quite disappointed that Randy Waldrum was appointed and he decided not to come," top NFF official Chris Green told BBC Sport on Thursday.

"I'm actually disappointed in the fact that I thought we had a good coach in him."

Green explained why Waldrum had changed his mind and admitted some of the blame must lie with the NFF.

"He said in his letter [to us] that from when the [NFF] president gave him the job, they did not do anything or contact him any further," Green added.

It doesn't speak well of Nigerian football that after the Paul Le Guen saga this one is happening again, it doesn't tell well, but what can we do? We just have to learn and move on.

NFF official Chris Green
"There are other things that are required like signing the contract itself, working conditions and all the basics that parties have to agree to - nothing was done.

"He was left in limbo and said he has to feed his family, but (we're) extremely disappointed that we've lost out on another coach."

It is the second time in 18 months that a foreign manager has rejected a coaching offer from the NFF, after Frenchman Paul Le Guen rebuffed the chance to handle the Super Eagles in July 2016.

This latest setback comes as a big blow to the Super Falcons, Africa's reigning champions ,who have not played or trained since lifting the Women's Africa Cup of Nations a year ago.

But Green apologised and admitted shortcomings by the federation as they have failed their women's team - Africa's most successful national side - once again.

"Nigeria is a great country with abundant talent for anyone to want to coach, but on our own part [as administrators] there are many things we should have done that are left undone," he admitted.

"Administratively, that is not how to get things to work out for an organisation like the NFF or in football generally because things are changing in football with new dynamics.

"It doesn't speak well of Nigerian football that after the Paul Le Guen saga, this one is happening again - it doesn't tell well, but what can we do? We just have to learn and move on."

Green's comments about the women's game in Nigeria come just a few weeks after NFF president Amaju Pinnick told BBC Sport the federation's focus would now switch to the women's team.

Nigeria are the only African team to have played in all of the Women's World Cup tournaments since 1991.

But they have failed to translate their continental dominance on the world stage, as their best performance came in the USA in 1999 when they reached the quarter-finals.

To me, I'm satisfied with Idowu at LB. Not many are. Jordan Torunarigha is a left footed natural LB plays at CB at times and if Echiejile isn't going to the WB I'd take him.

We need another holding AM in place of Mikel. Joel Obi/ Aluko would do. But they are not really Rorh's spec, he likes his midfielders defence-minded.

I don't really like the Onazi-Ndidi combo, one has to drop for another, they are both high-octane performers as Mujtahida once suggested. So someone who is a bit more calm, covers those loopholes would be great, Ogu is there. Sokari and Sanusi can be added.

We need another CF that can also play at the flanks as well.

At CB, Rorh might drop both Omuero and Agbo. Omuero can only make a case for himself when he performs better. Agbo to me is a DMF, I'd never be comfortable seeing him play at CB.

Mario Gomez returns to former club Stuttgart from Wolfsburg

Mario Gomez has rejoined former club Stuttgart from Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg.
Gomez, 32, played his youth football at Stuttgart from the age of 16 and went on to win the Bundesliga in 2007 with the club -- the year he also picked up the German Footballer of the Year award.

"I'm very happy to be back where it all started for me," Gomez told Stuttgart's official website. "I have sensed especially in the last few days how much I wanted to return to Stuttgart -- to the club where I learnt my trade.

"I probably enjoyed my craziest time here winning the Bundesliga in 2007 -- it is the club that made me what a player I am. I am looking forward to playing for the club again, the city, the people, the staff and my family. I cannot wait to get going."

Gomez has played 71 times for Germany, scoring 31 goals, and finished top scorer at Euro 2012.

He says he has not given up hope of making Joachim Low's squad for the World Cup next year.

"I'll give everything from now on to play well during the second half of the season in order to stave off relegation and, in addition, achieve my aim of playing in the World Cup," he said. "I said when I played here for Germany against Norway in September that it is always special for me to play in this
stadium."

Stuttgart languish in 14th in the Bundesliga, just two points away from the relegation zone after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich on Saturday, missing a penalty with the last kick of the game.

"I know expectations are big and a challenging situation awaits me," Gomez added.

Michael Reschke, former technical director at Bayern and now sporting executive at Stuttgart, said: "By signing Mario not only have we added a great person and a figure that the fans can identify with, but he's a world-class goal scorer too -- that is the key factor."

Gomez became Bayern's record signing at €30 million when he joined in 2009, winning two Bundesliga titles and scoring 75 goals in 115 appearances. He was the Bundesliga's top scorer with 28 goals in 32 games in 2010-11 under Louis van Gaal.

He also featured in three Champions League finals -- the losses to Inter Milan in 2010 and Chelsea in 2012, before entering as a late substitute in the victory against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley in Bayern's 2013 Treble-winning season under Jupp Heynckes.

Overall, Gomez has scored 151 Bundesliga goals in 281 appearances for Stuttgart, Bayern and Wolfsburg, also enjoying spells in Serie A with Fiorentina and on loan at Turkish side Besiktas.

I feel bad for this young man. What's happening to him.

He was dropped from the 2014 WC squad, and I wondered what Keshi was thinking. Had a fair outing at the Olympics. I pray his career takes a leap out of the doldrums.

I have always known this nigga is average , at best. Let him go back to Belgium abi na Holand and continue where he stopped. Next is Moses Simon, he can only hide for so long. Result ga akpo!

Pls let the German trio reach camp first then we know how far.

I watched the trio closely this season and with my critical look,I rate Uduokhai but still normal defender.I bet it with you Akpoguma and Torunagbia Jordon are not better than Awaziem, may be Rohr need them for his 3-5-2 formation

My comment about Aina is of the reason that we can't take Ebuehi, Shehu and Aina to the WC, one of them must be dropped and it has no relation to the German boys.

Jordan is a predominant LB, so his inclusion might make sense. And I can't see any reason why Rorh would like to drop Awaziem for either Uduokhai or Akpoguma.

Omeruo, based on current form, is the best Nigerian CB.
