On DHL shipping, enough has been said on it on this thread. Prepare to pay the "duty" once you use it. Few cases will be lucky to escape it tho. When I told one of their workers that I've received items without paying the "duties" before, she said and I quote "that must have been among the 1 in every 100 that escapes it". wink

Could it be that i'm lucky not to have paid a duty fee on three phones shipped via dhl? each on a separate package?

I can say it depends on the shipper/seller who has to declare lower amount for the item.

I haven't tried that virtual address thing o... grin

Oh really?
Well, I have a virtual address with MyUS.com and I have used it to ship stuff to Nigeria from the US before. But that was 2 years ago. The shipping cost na die sha. They use FedEx more often.

Anyway, what I am trying to do is to order from eBay directly to Naija without using MyUS.com.

I read somewhere that the trick is to order from Asian sellers on eBay as Americans will most likely not ship to Naija thanks to our yahoo boys.

This is not about Xiaomi but I felt like sharing with you guys.

For those who love reading books, you can order used and new books from this site:

http://Betterworldbooks.com

I decided to try them out recently and the book I bought was delivered to Nigeria in 8 days using Bpost.

The books on the site are generally cheap especially the used ones with prices starting from $4.98 or less.
I got a used book but you won't really notice any wear or tear on the book. The book was worth $6.6 with free shipping.

The payment process is just like paying for stuffs on aliexpress, PayPal not necessary.

So if you have been looking for books on any subject for long, check the site out as they have millions of books available.

Do they have books written by Nigerians?

My next experiment is to order something from eBay and have it delivered directly without using my MyUS.com virtual address.

Or has anybody done that already? Abeg tell us how.
So that I will know if I should pick another experiment, like maybe trying to order something from North Koreagrin

Yes, the 3 occasions were luck.
I shipped even more without having to pay any "duty". And the last straw that broke he camel's back was even declared cheaper than the free ones. So, what will you say to this? And I've several guys with similar experiences. 1% of daily DHL shipment is mammoth fa. I just hope you can be bold enough to come here and feed us back when the calabash breaks.
Have you ever wondered why full time importers rejects DHL shipping even when suppliers offer it for free? Even for samples. Thanks kiss
