Civil engineers have lauded the performance of Governor Rauf Aregbesola especially in the realm of ground breaking infrastructural facilities across the state.

This is coming as the engineers declared that the administration of Aregbesola has exceeded global standard for GDP-to-infrastructure ratio with the several completed and ongoing infrastructural projects that dot the state.

At a dinner of the association in Osogbo, a former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof Olugbenga Aribisala, who spoke on the theme “Infrastructural Development: An Index For National Development” encouraged government to spend 6% of its GDP on infrastructure.

At the event, the engineers acknowledged the uncommon record of the governor in giving Osun the needed infrastructural facelift for economic growth.

Aribisala said: “The Osun State government has shown a very great example of government funding for infrastructural projects. I want to state here unequivocally that Osun State has exceeded the figure recommended for infrastructure development.”

According to him, diversification of the economy will remain impossible without infrastructure.

Also, the National Chairman, Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Andem Ekpo-Bassey, commended the level of infrastructure development in the state.

“From what I saw today, it is very impressive to me. There are some projects that are recreational projects, there are some projects which are political projects but there are some projects that are human driven projects. These are the kinds of projects that your governor has really done.

“As an institution revolving in policy and recommendations, we can rightly confirm that seven years of his government in the state have seen numerous big civil engineering projects across the state.”

Governor Rauf Aregbesola was at the event presented with an Award of Grand Achiever of Infrastructural Development

When it comes to infrastructure this man is fantastic,.. But what concerns a hungry worker wit infrastructure. If only he pays salaries of his workers in addition to those infrastructural development den he would deserve all d accolades he gets.

of what use is infrastructure when d pple you claim to be building it for are dying of hunger...
that's what I'd call misplacement of priority.

A sane person would at least try to strike a balance between d two

Good infrastructure and availability of jobs are directly related. A leader thinks more of the future than the present and sacrifice is the price that should be paid. This is why some people are in mass exodus from one barren potor land in search of greener pastures in the sw with good infrastructure because the leaders of those potor lands use their state monies to invest elsewhere.

Kudos to the governor, long live Osun state, long live the people of Osun state.

I have said it times without numbers

Aregbesola is a good manager

While Benue, Taraba,Enugu,Abia, Ondo and many states are paying salaries he was busy developing the state infrastructural wise while those states can't point to any meaningful projects now

Aregbe is not owing salaries now and can point to projects

I know paying salaries is crucial and important

I rather borrow to take care of my family, children education and investing than spending it on one slay queen please people in Romance section slay queen they call it bah ?

That's why we need people that think in the helms of affairs

We don't need leaders that we the citizens will be thinking for

Not doing it same way and expects result

He's not owing salaries now

Apc and propaganda!

Just cos the people protested yesterday over none payment, they decided to silence their voices with propaganda.

My friend was a doctor is osun and recently relocated over none payment...

It's shame these things are happening and we choose to turn a blind eye.

I have journeyed thru osun and am yet to see the "massive infrastructure".

Say no to propaganda...the people are suffering

You were probably just a passerby. Don't just JOURNEY THROUGH, but LIVE there and you will appreciate the infrastructural backwardness of your state of origin.

If you see the TRUTH, say it. This is not about APC vs PDP, it is about YOUR STATE vs OSUN STATE in terms of infrastructural development.

All over the world, governments embark on infrastructures and capital projects to provide employment and stimulate economic growth and common sense should tell you that the massive projects the government set in motion across the state did not build themselves, they were built buy hire labor/manpower, human beings who collect paychecks to pay for school fees, rent, mortgages, food, entertainment and so on, even food vendors selling to construction workers initiates collateral economic benefits.

What about building materials dealers and suppliers and their workers do they no get paid to feed their families

What about painter, plumber, electricians, accountants, lawyers, bricklayer, ironworkers, roofers, landscapers and so on? Do they not get paid to feed their families?

What about the school feeding programs serving thousands of meals per day? You ever wonder where the food/Agric produce comes from? From farmers getting paid to supply produce and meats daily and consistently to feed thousands of school children every day.

With all the people employed to keep this massive construction projects going getting paid, are they not spending their paychecks on goods and services to keep the economy going?

Lastly, should common sense also tell you that the funds the state is pumping on the projects across the state are retained and cycling within the state economic atmosphere?

It is very sad that we have to lecture ignorant and unintelligent people on NL, but it's more like community service these days..

Osun has moved forward under your watch -Nigeria Guild Of Editors tells Aregbesola

Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was on Saturday described as a visionary governor who has not only opened Osun to the entire world but has also set the state on the right pedestal of development. President, Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mrs Funke Egbemode, stated this in Osogbo, when she led the NGE Standing Committee members to an inspection of state projects across some parts of the state. This was as the Governor attributed the nation’s economic problem and the poverty ravaging millions of people to lack of productivity. Some of the gigantic projects visited by the NGE team include the 18 kilometre Oba Adesoji Aderemi East By-Pass; 3,000 students capacity Ataoja Government High School, Osogbo Government High School, Nelson Mandela Freedom Park and Atewogbeja Fountain, rehabilitated Nigeria Railway Terminus and park.

Aregbesola has really tried for Osun in terms of infrastructural development just that he needs to replicate this achievement in salary payment.

Kudos to him and for someone up there saying their region is far develop to Wasteland, weldone oo! I recently ply your region and aside onitsha ( very dirty), Awka ( okay), owerri ( okay), enugu(okay), Nnewi(quite okay), others are village settlement to me. Nkpor, Umuoji, etc in Anambra are rural settlement. The roads are in terrible conditions. Umuahia doesn't look like a state capital at all. It would have been preferable to choose Aba which is just 45mins drive If the road is good to PH but then again Aba is not looking good either. Looking forward to visit Ebonyi cool

yeah some people are still poor.. you dont expect everyone to be upper class or middle class.

there are less poor people in osun unlike pig republic of south east where pigs bundled themselves in any available bus to osun and south west generally to avoid poverty.

.A governor is a like a manager who is saddled with the decision of managing scarce resources and at the same time meeting its objectives.A governor who focuses on only infrastructure and workers salary is the height of mismanagement and bad leadership..A governor has to balance this two important objectives by using proper managerial principles.
So its the likes of you that encourage and sing the praises of the never do wells who call themselves apc governors by making excuses for them in an obvious fact of gross mismanagement has been an A.P.C ACHIEVEMENT...There party manifesto is to impoverish the people from imo to edo, benue, and osun everywhere you go the story is the same...........between for the fact that igbos are in lagos does not make your South West better than igbo land both in infrastructure or otherwise, dont scream lagos cos lagos is never AND WILL NEVER BE A YORUBA ACHIEVEMENT.

I know. Even London, USA, Canada and all the world are Igbos achievement?

I also know the east is better than the sw and that is why the Igbos prefer the sw in order to preserve the infrastructure in the east. I hope you are now satisfied.

Now, bye.
