This isn't true because there has ALWAYS been fuel scarcity and it's not caused by the government but deliberately by fuel marketers and distributors to make fuel scarce and cause people to buy at higher rates.

Where I do fault the government is by closing Enugu Airport at this time knowing fully well it is Christmas time. It's to force large numbers of people to take other routes specifically Lagos which enriches it's economy and unnecessarily burdens travellers to the East for Christmas.

It was the same when the Nigerian government or aviation minister of the time forced people flying in to Abuja to go through Lagos by not allowing direct routes and making all flights from London for example land in Lagos at night after any opportunity to get a connecting flight to Abuja. You had NO CHOICE but to stay overnight in Lagos and you had to spend money either in food, drink, accommodation or transport.

It's very unfortunate how shallow and selfish minded the leaders we have today can be. The fuel scarcity is affecting everyone and not just my tribe (ndi Igbo). Must we go the same route that has always failed us? Any right thinking person should condemn the situation as it affects all Nigerians. Its not only Igbos that travel or convey goods to different locations. And by my little investigation, I have come to realise that it is the common man that brought this hardship on the fellow common man. A situation where marketers and filling stations will be hoarding fuel to hike the price, then DPR personnel sent to monitor the situation and enforce compliance to normal pricing will turn around to collect bribe and allow the bad situation to go on.
