Fani-kayode Blasts New York Times Over Trump's "Comment" About Nigerians by TheHerald: 7:05am On Dec 24, 2017
Former Nigerian Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has accused respected news medium New York Times of lying about US President Donald Trump's purported comment about Nigerians.

The New York Times on Saturday had reported that Trump said in a June 2017 meeting that Nigerians refuse to "return to their huts" after seeing America.

Other comments credited to the president at the meeting include: "immigrants from Haiti all have AIDS" and "Afghanistan is a haven of terrorists."

The New York Times had quoted two anonymous sources present at the meeting but who sought anonymity.

Trump administration officials denied the report, saying that though the meeting took place, the president never used the words "AIDS" and "huts".
In a reaction via his verified Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode described the New York Times report as a "lie" and "salacious gossip".

He said,

The @nytimes claim
@realDonaldTrump said "Nigerians refuse to return to their huts after seeing America", "immigrants from Haiti all have aids” and "Afghanistan is a haven of terrorists”. This is nothing but sallacious GOSSIP and quintessential FAKE NEWS.The

The media attacks (some justified, others not) against POTUS45 have been unprecedented.

Recall his first day in office and the news that the president had removed the bust of the great Martin Luther King Jr from the Oval. It turned out to be a damn lie.

One understands the establishment are upset with him and many of his political opponents delirious that he became president in spite of all they did in 2016, but hey, why not be objective in reporting the news and try your luck again in defeating him in 2020?

The media attack against that troublesome man is just too much. I follow NowThis and NowThis Politics, two American pages, on Facebook and I've seen hate on the man to know what a media attack is.

Trump can do no good but Hilary and Obama are good people. I don't buy that narrative. Even though I don't consider Trump a good person, I don't think Hillary and Obama are better. The media is against the man but he doesn't care.

Religion always messing up the human psyche.
As a self-appointed christian defender, Fani will always side with Trump no matter what because he and other Trump
supporters believes that Trump is the greatest gift of God to humans.

The media anti-Trump rethoric is becoming obnoxious to say the least, how can you just come up with a story without proff . Same thing with CNN where three of its journalists had to resign over reports about Trump they published which were later found to be false. And the false ABC reports that disrupted the stock market and cost loses to investors. They are all becoming no better than gossip blogs.

As a Nigerian I do not take offense in those words even if he said so.

How can I? We have crude but cannot have enough fuel at our filling stations. Our President son is an undergraduate in UK. Our Senate President all children are schooling abroad. Our daughters are running to Lybia to be raped.

Are we no ashamed. Are we not ashamed to be Nigerians?

Same man who directs hate-filled criticism at the government would still complain when the government is criticized in a 'creative' way.

Maybe he thinks in his foolish mind, "I'm the only one permitted to 'blast' the government" or "don't criticize if its not hateful enough"

And it takes an abysmal judge of character and basic human decency to say Obama is not a better person than Trump.
