Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by acekid109(m): 2:18pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
lilmonarch:i mean how's battery life before u did the update? I had ba3 drain issue but a factory reset resolved mine. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by acekid109(m): 2:24pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
lilmonarch:you can try the manual update or do fastboot update. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by lilmonarch(m): 2:25pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
acekid109:i didn't use the miu 8 at all cos I updated immediately to miui 9 after Unboxing. The battery hasn't really impressed me at all. Even my previous phone (gionee m5) lasts longer than this. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by gogeekish(m): 2:27pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
I told ya all. Miui 9 is brutal in terms of battery. That's why I made reference to the optimised custom rom found on xda. Just search for MIUI 9.1 7.11.9 mido |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by lilmonarch(m): 2:29pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
acekid109:I've updated Through ota and did manual update too. Na that Fastboot I never do. I'm tired sef cos i lost my files after reseting the phone yesterday. I could only restore 6apps out of 30 I did |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by acekid109(m): 2:30pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
gogeekish:miui 8 may have better battery back up miui 9 but its not bad. I'm on developer rom miui 9. 7.12.21 and ba3 is just awesome. Bt the way his phone is mi max 2 not mido, mido na sd redmi note 4 |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by acekid109(m): 2:33pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
lilmonarch:i did the fastboot update on an unlocked bootloader, i don't know if it can be done on a locked one. But since moving to developer rom on mido, d ba3 backup has been great. |

Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 2:48pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
lilmonarch:Flash the rom again or any other recent rom and repeat the factory reset, you might need to do it more than once to flush the bug, have seen a MI Max with such bug earlier this year. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by lilmonarch(m): 2:48pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
acekid109:mi max 2? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by acekid109(m): 2:48pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
lilmonarch:no o, redmi note 4. But the procedures for flashing update, recovery update n co are almost the same for miui devices |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by lilmonarch(m): 2:49pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
Gptech:bro, I'm on the latest rom. And I have flashed it more than 5times. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by acekid109(m): 2:51pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
lilmonarch:. That's y u may have to wait for another update or move to Another rom version like developer rom, but u have to unlock bootloader first to move to developer |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by lilmonarch(m): 2:53pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
acekid109:Chai.. I think i'll wait for the update. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by acekid109(m): 2:54pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
lilmonarch:n if u can find a way to unlock ur bootloader, u can try developer rom which is updated weekly |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 2:57pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
lilmonarch:I said factory reset, might do it more than once. The case of the Mi Max I was talking about, system apps kept increasing by the day until it was taking almost 80% of battery juice, don't be tired now. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 3:04pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
humblesteve:The only option available after updating via OTA should be 'Reboot now', as others have suspected, you likely have a custom recovery like TWRP flashed. Did you buy the phone new or used? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by acekid109(m): 3:08pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
Gptech:seems the guy is hiding something self. I don't think there is away of booting into bootloader without root access or some form of customization of the reboot option which can only be done as a root user. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by lilmonarch(m): 3:12pm On Dec 24, 2017 |
Gptech:so i should keep reseting the phone till receives sense, right? meanwhile, the android system is now back to 40+% after I removed my memory card |
