I really appreciate this guy's effort in the team, but I see see this tweet as an Attention seeking tweet. Studying them is his duty, announcing them is really unnessarily begging for an Attention for doing What is expected of him.

Not even his job to study.

These German and France based Goalkeepers should be selected by Gernot Rohr

2017-05-06 | Don Osaheni

With Carl Ikeme unable to continue the beautiful game for sometime, The chances of the Super Eagles maintaining discipline at the back in future games have taken a jeopardized nature. A piece of this was seen against South Africa where the stand - in goalie was totally woeful in goal.

Now, the Enyeama fans are out viciously. You can't blame them, Vincent is no doubt a great keeper but Nigeria is a great footballing nation. It should be able to do without any player if mangement had focus.

Sunday Oliseh arguably did some wrongs when he made Ahmed Musa the captain of the Super Eagles, a decision which understandably forced Vincent Enyeama into retirement.

Vincent Enyeama on the other hand drew criticisms by retiring, as fans wondered if he would retire from club football if similar treatment occurred. Marcelo Bielsa sacked Enyeama at Lille, why did he not retire from club football?

Players that feel larger than the national teams must be taught a lesson. Enyeama must not return to the Eagles unless he apologizes.

As Nigeria faces a bleak future with no reliable goal keeper and leader at the rear, Carl Ikeme appeared and calm our nerves. There is no argument that Enyeama himself would felt no inner joy each time he watched Carl in goal.

Surely, as Enyeama retired, he knew we had no good local replacements and wanted to bring the nation to its knees begging him to return. Wishes are not Horses, Nigerian football has since improved under Amaju Pinnick led NFF who found a very good coach in Gernot Rohr to handle the team.

The super eagles look set to fly to Russia 2018 as the first African nation to qualify but tragedy has struck with Carl Ikeme unfortunate Leukaemia. With Enyeama smelling a chance to return to the team, and the Nff not sure of how to replace Carl; Pro Enyeama writers have begun to remind on the need to recall Enyeama, even quoting the prodigal son and forgiveness story in the bible.

Well, no doubt that Enyeama is our son but we must do everything not to allow the progress we enjoy under Amaju Pinnick and Gernot Rohr to become retrogressive.

We have moved on from Enyeama and so be it.

Going Forward, here are two goal keepers in Europe the Nff can work fast on.

#1. Jonathan Ligali - born on 28th May, 1991 in Benin Republic to Nigerian parents, he moved to France at a very young age of 4. He is the second choice goalie of FC Montpelier of France, a club that is just three points off behind Enyeama's FC Lille.

He is eligible for Nigeria, Benin Republic and France. He represented France at all youth levels. This season, he distinguished himself against PSG in the cup game. Click the link below to watch his video and see his saves

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnTM9XXrg48&t=3s

#2. Robin Udegbe - born in Germany on 20th March 1991, Robin Udegbe has got himself a reputation for saving penalties. He has stopped 6 penalties this season.

He currently plays for German divison 2 side, FC Oberhausen. He kept for 33 games and had 6 clean sheets as well. he is known for great reflexes and saves.

One reason is negative emotive prejudice against Nigerian origin players in the UK.

I really don't know why

The largest pool of Nigerian origin players outside of Nigeria is in the UK.

There is no football academy without Nigerian origin players in it. If the esteemed NFF scouting team is doing its job. It should be getting these boys before England.

Ethan Ampadu was playing for Exeter City Fc in League 2 he was 15 that was last year 2016. He us now playing for Chelsea first team.

If you are outstanding in your team and league you are possibly better than a player who is standing still and forgotten to and struggling to sit on the bench in a higher level club and tier of the English football league system.

Many people here believe English players are overhype but I challenge any one here to give me top 2 Nigerian players ever that can stand side by side with the top 5 English players ever.

I don't think anyone would dare it.

Yesterday, I saw Kane and Ali played and I thought, are these the players some people wanna compare with what we have in the Eagles? I just smh.

In that list I would disqualify Tosin he is a youth player who is in a big team who is untested. Until he goes on loan and or starts playing regular for City for me non starter.

Efe Ambrose is playing in moi moi league but is now clearly one of the most outstanding Central defenders in the entire Scottish premier league. Furthermore his team held Celtic which is a good quality team in that league to a draw with Hibernian and he scored. The same Celtic that beat Anderlecht with Onyekuru at home 3 zero is not an easy feat.

Kenny Otigba leaving the Eredivisie to go to Hungary is not a player on the upward trajectory. I have my doubts.

My final view is that we need more quality in defence unfortunately the best of what we have, is not really top class. Particularly in comparison to the midfield and forward players.

This is a World cup the teams that will progress to the quarter finals will have top quality players from top clubs and leagues.

Of course there will be surprises but in the end the big boys will be running tings towards the knock out stages.

Tosin has played in the UEFA Champions league and the Carling cup.

From what I saw he is very very good.

Success indeed has many fathers grin grin

Now that we have qualified for the world cup, almost every foreigner with a link to Nigeria that plays football wanna join d plane to Russia...

Though I feel its a bad idea for the NFF and Rohr to be focusing more on foreign born players at the expense of the home groomed players, but let's give them a trail.. They should just not try and give us a KP Boateng treatment later...

But seriously,I'm sure Rohr won't include more than 2-3 new players from the ones he has been calling up since he took charge...No good coach changes a squad that he has worked so hard to assembly..

I think Ojokojo had a bad experience with the National team. I have seen a few statements by him that were not complimentary as far back as 1994. He talked about tribal separation in the team, talked about how National team players are reviled when they fail. etc

I am sure, these are the kinds of things, he is telling his child. The report is not surprising

Horror news for Everton striker Henry Onyekuru

Back in the summer Henry Onyekuru joined Everton from Belgian side KAS Eupen.

The striker was on blistering form last season as he scored 22 goals in Belgium’s top flight.

Everton paid £6.8 million for the striker, while Onyekuru has been loaned to Anderlecht for the season.

Earlier in the season, as Everton were struggling in the wrong end of the table, some wondered whether Onyekuru should be recalled to Goodison Park.

But after this weekend’s action in Belgium, Onyekuru is unlikely to be playing football in the next few months.

Anderlecht 1 – Eupen 0

In a meeting between Henry Onyekuru’s former and current employers on Friday, Anderlecht beat Eupen 1-0.

Anderlecht full-back Francis Amuzu was the surprise match winner for RSCA.

But towards the end of the match the hosts suffered a major blow as Onyekuru was forced out the game on a stretcher.

Onyekuru’s bad news

On Saturday night the bad news had been confirmed.

Everton striker Onyekuru will need surgery on his knee injury for a torn medial ligament.

That could well rule the striker out for the rest of the season.

Onyekuru has scored nine goals for Anderlecht on loan from the Toffees.

While I was typing I knew you'll be the one to counter this and you've done it aggressively-lo you didn't disappoint me. But the truth needs to be told. I know my stance on Kayode will hurt you.

Kay WAS outstanding last season. But WHERE? In the Austrian League. Fine. Why has he not been able to replicate such form in For Girona. Should I remind you? He hasn't hit the target yet. So sad for an Exceptional player of his calibre. I hope he gets his scoring boots soon.

You dragged in KI despite that I didn't mention him in my post... Oh I now see. The boy might be experiencing some tough times in his club. But everyone including an urborn Child knows that He is PRESENTLY our most CLINICAL Forward- the numbers speaks for him. He is invited base on his records for the National side.

Oh! before I forget, Nwakali is presently Ahead of those boys you listed over there. Do you wanna know why? If there is need for emergency, Nwakali will be the First guy Rohr will run things on. He has been invited why those names up there are still intensifying in their prayers. I pray Baba Rohr picks up their call. But as of now, he is ahead of them in the pecking order.

I was surprised when I saw your accusation. Well if saying the obvious makes me Sentimental then I'm glad to be. I don't understand how an uninvited player will be ahead of invited ones in the Pecking order.

It will be good If you can remove the log of wood in your eyes before pointing out the speck in your neighbours.

THANKS and Merry Xmas.

Aggressive? I don't think so but if you think otherwise, my apologise.

However, if you claim Iheanacho is going through hard times but you can't say the same for Kayode then I know the big log of wood in your eyes can't make you see things in a more reasonable and critical way. Sentiments and lopsidedness are the keynotes of your points.

Why? Kelechi has flopped big time in the past seasons and it is the past glory of three seasons ago that is his saving grace for a look into the National team else he should not be called in the first place.

About being the most clinical forward, that is a big fallacy if you meant CF because he has failed severally in that position hence the need for Rohr to find him a suitable postion. That was why he was played as a RW and SS in our last games.

Now, talking about Kayode. Did you watch him played this season? If no, I understand you relied on hearsay or statistics to make your points because if you saw him played you would had known he was played in various positions and he was brought on to play when he either had to defend or faced a defensive team.

Overall, his performance will be the deciding factor at the end of the season.

Moreover, Mane who came from the lowly Austrian league has gone ahead to be nominated for APOTY award ahead of Kelechi whom you think is from EPL.

Don't forget it took Griezman three good seasons before he became an house hold name in the la liga. What does that means?

You can decode a player with prospect even if his situation are not tantalizing but a player without a prospect during the course of a season or two is as good as flop. That is how you scout a player. No bi by name or tribal mark.

I want to assume the thought in the SE is not same as what we have on this thread
Rather than limit our vision to this WC we should have a long term plan to build a formidable senior national team that can compete with any other team.
Our SE has been unstable over years in terms of development. The WC should be seen as a stage to expose our players and build on experience gained but as our usual way of running our football an early ouster from the WC will be greeted with sack without plan to develop our football.
England is a very good example to learn from instead of begging players to play for us few months to the WC.

Swiss-born Nigerian: Super Eagles need a goalkeeper like me
.com Dec 24, 2017 10:27 AM

SC kriens star, Sebastian Ogenna Osigwe has expressed his desire to help the Super Eagles in the goalkeeping department ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The 23-year-old, who was born to a Nigerian father and a Swiss mother is currently enjoying a fine season in the 1. Liga Promotion in Switzerland, having kept six clean sheets in 17 appearances.

Interestingly, Sebastian's dad, Vitalis Osigwe represented Nigeria in the past as he was part of the 1985 Golden Eaglets squad but only missed out on the U17 World Cup following an injury against Poland in a preparatory game.

The Super Eagles were the first African team to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup but the biggest dilemma facing the Gaffer, Gernot Rohr is identifying a reliable first choice
goalkeeper after the retirement of Vincent Enyeama and absence of Carl Ikeme, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

The number one spot have been rotated between Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi while Deportivo La Courna's Francis Uzoho made an impressive debut against Argentina in a recent friendly but Sebastian feels he has a lot to offer the Three-time African Champions.
Speaking exclusively to SportingLife, he said: "If I get a call-up to the Super Eagles, it will be a dream come true.

"The team really needs a goalkeeper like me and I'll love to help. Perhaps follow
in the footsteps of my dad who also represented this great nation, Nigeria.

"I followed the qualifiers closely and appreciate the work done by the likes of Ezenwa, Akpeyi and recently Uzoho. Goalkeepers need experience and consistency and I believe it's something I can bring to the team."

Sebastian has played for the Switzerland U15,16 and 18's but narrowly missed out on representing Nigeria at U20 level after initially making the 30-man provisional squad for the 2013 World Cup in Turkey.

SC Kriens sit top of the league table with 39points from 17 matches before the winter break.

TOP 10: Outstanding Stars Of NPFL Invitational Tournament

Gold Usenekong. 6 days ago

Completesportsnigeria.com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU, who covered the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League invitational tournament in Kano, names the 10 outstanding performers in the competition…

OKIEMUTE ODAH (PLATEAU UNITED)
The Plateau United new signing was unarguably the most outstanding goalkeeper at the NPFL invitational tournament in Kano. Okiemute was outstanding in the league champions’ opening fixture against Enyimba, making a number of breathtaking saves.
He also proved his class in the second game against the Home Eagles though his side lost 1-0.

KALU ORJI (HOME EAGLES)
Cool, calm and collected, Orji came in for the injured Adeleye Olamilekan in the home-based Super Eagles first game against Plateau United and showed his exceptional qualities in the game and his side’s two other fixtures against Enyimba and MFM FC.
The Enugu Rangers central defender controls the defence with ease and is also a good passer of the ball. He will no doubt be one of the key men for the Eagles in Rwanda.

SUNDAY FALEYE (HOME EAGLES)
It took Sunday Faleye few minutes to show why he is the subject of a transfer tussle between Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan and Nationwide League outfit Freestan FC. The young forward was offered the chance to show his worth in the Home Eagles’ second group game against Enyimba and he grabbed it with both hands with his mesmerizing display.
Faleye also scored his team’s winning goal in the encounter.

ADEBOYEGA ADEKUNLE (MFM FC)
The MFM FC forward shone in the absence of Sikiru Olatunbosun and Victor Mbaoma who both featured for the Home Eagles in the competition. He was joint top scorer in the competition with Anthony Okpotu. They both registered two goals each.

TOSIN OMOYELE (PLATEAU UNITED)
Tosin Omoyele scored 15 goals for Osun United in the Nigeria National League last season. He proved his performance for the Omoluabi Boys was no fluke with a fine showing here in Kano and was rewarded with an invitation to the home-based Super Eagles ahead of the African Nations Championship.

ANTHONY OKPOTU (HOME EAGLES)
The Panther as he is fondly called by his admirers was almost unplayable in the final against MFM FC where he netted twice. He will no doubt be one of the key men for Home Eagles in Morocco.

JONATHAN ZIKIYE (MFM FC)
The marauding left-back was a top performer for MFM FC at the NPFL invitational tournament. The former Wikki Tourists defender started the first game against Akwa United on the bench but later came off the bench and started the next two games against Kano Pillars and the Home Eagles.
He was lively in all the games he played, mesmerizing fans with timely overlapping runs.

AUSTIN OLADAPO (HOME EAGLES)
The gifted midfielder started the Home Eagles’ second group game against Enyimba and showed he could be relied upon with a superlative showing. He ran the show in the middle of the pack alongside Dayo Ojo in the game.
He is certainly a good back-up option for the duo of Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and Rabiu Ali in midfield.

EMEKA OGBUCHI (HOME EAGLES)
The winger has already impressed Home Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf who praised him for his excellent showing in the competition. It will be a surprise if the Rivers United player fails to make it to the African Nations Championship in Morocco.

CHINEDU UDEAGHA (ENYIMBA)
The new acquisition from Enugu Rangers was impressive in the two games he featured for the Peoples Elephant even though his side failed to make it to the final. He scored in the opening game against Plateau United and also won a penalty missed by Chinonso Okonkwo.

I totally understand what you mean....I have a similar attachment to Greek mythology.
haaaaa!greek mythology. had a book when i was in primary school about greek legends and myths and arabian nights. how i loved that book. elder sister hid it once. i cried like i was bereaved until i found the book. prosepina, pandora's box, the legend of icarus, pygmalion, the story about king midas, zeus, bacchus, the seven journeys of sinbad, aladdin, the wonderful lamp and ali baba and the forty thieves.

while writing i tried to find a national mythological theme that could perhaps resonate with our players but i couldnt recall any. Queen amina of zaria came to mind but i doubt if it would connect with the team. she was a fearless warrior.

i think the reason for the strength of the Iceland team is their MENTALITY. these guys are the descendants of the great warriors VIKINGS and they are very much conscious of this fact and they carry that knowledge into every match. their viking chant is said to be very brutal:"Another tradition, which became famous at the EURO – when almost ten per cent of Iceland’s population headed to France to cheer the team on - is the ‘Thunderclap’. The war cry-like chant drew inspiration from the film ‘300’ and made for an intimidating sight and sound. As one Portuguese journalist wrote at the EURO: "Don't cross Iceland - their Viking chant is terrifying!"

so our players need to be mentally tough, tough like steel cos those icelandic guys will come charging at them with the fury of the vikings. we might not have a unifying meta-arching historical archetype from which our players can draw strength like the Icelanders do but we are a rugged people too, nigeria teaches you to be strong. they should remember that they are Eagles- the only bird that is happy when storms are raging so much so that while other birds hide and take refuge in the crevices of the rocks and crags the eagle rides upon the storms. in fact it flies straight into the eye of the storm because it knows that right inside the storm is always calm. forza Super Eagles

Well said. Nigeria teaches resilience, patience, endurance and determination

But they might need a team psychologist to bring this home. That is, if they don't have one already

Iheanacho out of match day squad
He should seek out of that club either on loan or buy. Leicester is under utilising him. He as well should sacrifice, hire a personal coach and trainer and work really hard to become ruthless

Yea. That's what great sportsmen do.

They higher personal trainers and train in almost secluded areas devoid of distraction

Ask LeBron james

who dem beg?

And what is the success rate of England that anybody should learn from them? Instead of you to mention reasonable countries like Germany and France, it is the perennial underachievers that someone should learn from?
Underachievers you called them?
1. We are busy begging their players to choose 9ja over them
2. They won U17 and U20 same year with boys of true ages unlike our boys with questionable ages
3. Be patient you will soon know these guys have plans unlike us

You are being evasive and undoubtedly moving the goal post.

I was objectively clear with verifiable fact and asked you to simply say what makes Omeruo great I asked you to be objective and if need be use comparative analysis.

Playing for a very competitive world class star studded Chelsea is not always the end game but how far you can progress in your football career.

It is clear you do not understand the structure and delivery set up for youth players in English professional football clubs. The manager has limited input on loan moves and the club operates a more long term strategy for youth development. Managers who are short term in their delivery are not overly focused on emerging young players unless they are clearly outstanding in comparison to what they have.

List of players who developed at Chelsea when Mourinho was there and have kept developing, Nathan Ake, Traore, Musonda, Solanke, Lukaku, Tega, Aina, Jeremie Boga, Isaiah Brown, Kasey Palmer, Kurt Zouma (19 year old at the time who played 58 games for Chelsea over two seasons under Mourinho) to mention a few.

Omeruo went on loan to Middlesborough for a whole season who according to you he was having the best form of his life, but was far from outstanding in the Championship there wasn't a Que of clubs waiting to sign him. He has been a journey man footballer since now settling down in the mid range clubs of the Turkish division.

So I ask again, you have rated him higher than Gary Cahill, what makes him GREAT.

Please remain objective with verifiable statistics and comparisons.

But bro, don't you think that recently, Cahill has been making too many mistakes in the heart of Chelsea's defense

And Omeruo might actually perform better given a chance?

#2. Robin Udegbe - born in Germany on 20th March 1991, Robin Udegbe has got himself a reputation for saving penalties. He has stopped 6 penalties this season.

He currently plays for German divison 2 side, FC Oberhausen. He kept for 33 games and had 6 clean sheets as well. he is known for great reflexes and saves.

by this clip i see he rarely catches the ball and even punches it back into play and that how psg scored a goal against his team
