I'm what you'll consider as a pretty decent kid. Been always studious and devote. I felt those stuff were distractions and a waste of time. so I was always buried in books and church activities.

I thought being uptight and serious would make me "successful" . Unfortunately.... It appears I might have been wrong. I see my friends who practically live in orgies and revelries enjoy life and still have things work fine for them. So I guess screw seriousness!

Recently I've been having a strange feeling of emptiness. I read up some books and most suggested that lack of love/companionship can be a major reason for feelings of emptiness.

It then dawned on me that I've never asked a girl out in my entire life. I've never dated. I never thought it was a big deal and I pretty enjoy my company alone. I assumed I'll get a girl when am ready for marriage. But hey... I don't even know if I'll be alive that long (tomorrow isn't guaranteed).

I've recently been feeling very lonely .. do you think it's a problem I've never experienced relationship with a girl at my age? I'll be 23 next year.

I don't care about intimacy cus you can easily get that without dating no body.

Constructive suggestions please

I got my first real girlfriend just dis yr and am 25 yrs old...I ve always felt dat real relationship should be more than wat is available this days so despite pressure from my friends I held my ground and today I am glad DAT I did...I ve d most beautiful girl in d world..not just facial beauty alone but beauty of d soul... just wait for d TANGIBLE and leave all dis SUPERFICIAL relationships DAT won't stand d test of time!!!

am 22, never had a gf still, i am like u when it comes to study and religion, thought i was alone. nothing like more relationship with pipo around u. if u have girls as friends u will not feel dis way

Youngman you need to finish your education first before entering " women" educational institution. Secondly, you will not die , you are too young to die.You have much to accomplish in this life.

I wouldn't advise you to get into a relationship now except if you have solid stable income or you've achieved most of your major Goals in Life.
As per your "feeling of emptiness" it can be due to a variety of reasons.

Here's are some tips to cure the emptiness
1. Get out of your Comfort Zone, try everything you can every day to shift your comfort zone.
2. Go Jogging Every Morning
3. Work on your Ideas - write that book, apply for that job/scholarship, read fiction and non fiction.
4. Flirt with girls, yes i mean it, go to random beautiful girls and say stuff like "Hey, I noticed you look really beautiful and i thought i should come tell you in person and also introduce myself, am Jeffery". be creative!
5. Stop watching porn/MasturbXxxxx. Porn Masturbation have dangerous side effects on the brain such as mood swings, brain fog etc.
6. Chase your Dreams!

I've attempted the gf stuff and it's not so could, I wish I could create a thread and write some sort of detailed stuff concerning this 'not having gf' in early 20s but it won't get a lot of replies but I might drop the thread.
There's this empty I felt couple of years back and it comes periodically at times.

You are good to go dear...Do not major in the minor. Focus on other things you won't feel empty . Do you have a complete degree? Do you have investments? . Trust me at 23 you don't want female headaches . You would wish for this moment.

From personal experience I think you should be worried. I would be 29 in some months and trust me I have never been in a relationship. I was serious with studies, I finished with good grades, got a job and a fairly decent apartment. I think I have what I "need" but I wish I could be with someone. I feel so lonely. I didn't see it as an issue at 22. Don't take life too seriously, nothing is more fulfilling in life than good relationship with people.

Some of us are late bloomers. I didn't have my first girlfriend till I was 25, but once I did I more than made up for lost time. You are at an age where you are best able to lay a foundation for your future success. Focus on being a success and the girls will come flocking later.
