No such tin as starting salary for a chartered accountant. In big fours like pwc, kpmg nd others you get 120k-150k, in banks dey are treated as same with oda entry levels, some chartered accountants are contract staff in banks earning 50k-80k, some are full staff earning 120k-240k. In small audit firms 40-50k. For other industries if you have zero experience u get paid same as other entry level staff. NB- been chartered for 8 years

There is no standard starting salary for chartered accountants, it all depends on the pay structure of the company you are working with and also the industry it operates. I know chartered accountants that earn as low as 40k and I also have friends that are chartered accountant who started with as much as 300k.

If you start from a medium audit firm, you can't compare yourself with another chartered accountant that starts say from an investment bank or say an oil company.

So if you are expecting an industry standard salary rate for new chartered accountants you won't get it anywhere, what you will earn depends on where you work, the industry it operates and what role you will handle.

Personally as a chartered accountant myself, I won't go below 50k threshold if I was just starting.

It depends on the industry you want to start with and the role. Is it audit, general accountant, cost accountant, financial controller, account payable, account receivables, etc. These roles will shape the salary scale.

But if you are young, you can try the big 4, you won't regret it later on. I think the big 4s pay over 100k for ACAs.

Any other company should be able to pay over 100k as well except you don't have any experience.

I don't really think the chattered has anything to do with your starting salary. It should have effect after probation period.

Even without experience, big companies starting salary should be over 100k anything less, then such company is not big except if the workforce is big and the turnover is low.

It really depends on the organisation, there is no standard. Audit firms apart from the big 4( delloite, KPMG, Ernst & young, PWC) tends to pay low most especially if you don't have prior experience cos they believe they are training you and you can always get away easily when you get the experience.
But other organizations like banks, insurance coys, oil coys, trading coys etc tends to pay higher.
