My man the calibre of players we took look to 2010 WC are better than 2002,hope you remember Kanu was part of 2010 WC.

I based my performance on players and i think 2010 had proper foundation compared to 2002 team so i still see 2010 team has the greatest flop of all Nigeria team to WC,my opinion.

Kanu was to the 2010 team what Mutiu was to the 2002 team.

You cannot compare Kanu of 2002 to Kanu of 2010.

Sure you know the 2002 team had players like Yobo, Taribo and Babayaro in defense. John Utaka, Julius Aghahowa and Bath Ogbeche were the three strikers.

Such quality but he played an untested Sodje at CB, untested Justice Christopher as DM and an untested Ogbeche as a CF. That really upset the balance of the team. That is what I am talking about.

you wrote true...but we shouldn't just settle fr ezenwa...let's try others and see how good they're during this CHAN and friendlies...for uzoho....

ezenwa had such a wonderful experience obviously because of the standing defense we had in both matches....

he has never really been tested....
Hope they would allowed the best to be in goal.I watched recent clips of six invitational tournament and i can tell you Ajiboye would be my number one for CHAN but Afelokhai no go area for me cos his performance against MFM was worrisome, this must have prompted Ayeleso Suraj invitation.

better we invite all the available old men.

still scouting if there is still any...besides this two....so we can all deliberate on it...if possible rohr invites them all....

No be for this World Cup abeg.

Maybe FIFA should organize a special competition for Under 35 or Over 35 players.

abeg make ena leave the guy, he was playing for psg so he was worth the hype, my biggest annoying flop of that wc was opabunmi, youngest player my foot. the guy discover late that football was not his calling
Femi Opabunmi had a good game against England based on his age so he wasn't a flop.

On football was not his calling just pray that in our chosen careers we should not encounter challenges that would hampered our potential and progress.

that is just my fear....
you see yusuf seems to have always gotten it right with his selection....though he is not tactically too effective...
but alloy agu is worrisome....his selection is the primary reason we still having issues in the goal keeping department...I guess rohr knew this...that's why he opted for a foreign goal keeper trainer....

tell me...why was suraj sidelined all this while? everyone knows ezenwa continous invitation to the national team was a suspect especaliy when he was no where near FC IfeayiUba starting 11...he kept getting invited....

and now...he is trying to forbid better goal keepers from playing....I just hope...
these keepers are allowed to play and let's see what they can all offer.....

On Sokari i don't want to talk much cos of my experience with Nwakili invitation.

It was here some just came from nowhere to justify Nwakili invitation but just too glaring it was not a merited one now Sokari which nobody as ever mentioned here as a prospect to replace Mikel is now the ultimate solution.

Let's wait and see how things unfold cos i don't think our solution is in Tunisia league if we are really serious, meaning player like Junior Ajayi should be considered too for CF.

I thought Joel Obi, Raheem Lawal,Ajagun,Azeez and Alhassan Mazzam are available or do we want to say Sokari has a better performance than these players this season.

At least, make em get the chance first then we go know.

Enyeama is a goalie, can't be compared to an outfield player.

Mikel is younger than Martins and has not been frozen out of the team for a long period of time

My brother, to win every game in the World Cup is an Herculean task.

It is no child's play. It is for the men and not for boys.
We learnt this bitterly from the 2002 WC when Onigbingbe packed boys to the world cup. They got overwhelmed by the intensity of the competition. Players like Ogbeche, Sodje and Opabunmi were only tested in friendlies. They never really played any competitive game before we faced Argentina. Ike Shoromun was our saviour that day. Our goal keepers are always our saviors in world cups since 2002. This is also a pointer to team Uzoho.

I trust players more that have been tested in competitive matches reason why I rate Ezenwa higher than Uzoho. A goalie that didn't concede from open play against Cameroon home and away and against Zambia at home. You cannot push away that kind of performance. It is only if Enyeama shows up.

Baba you are a spot on about the WC being an herculean task but i will rather go with uzoho in the absence of Enyeama. we don't need anyone to tell us that the world cup is not for boys. that is why FIFA has age grade competitions for boys and then the WC as the peak of football for men. when we say men, I believe we mean exposure, ability to rise up manfully to the pressures of the tournament and not necessarily age because micheal owen was just 18 at France 98 and he scored a goal against argentina and was selected for penalties and scored when the match got to that stage that's how matured he was at 18 . the world cup is intense and for this particular WC the traveling schedule is going to add more stress to the competition. i trust you remember how the brazilian team were crying when they their national anthem was being sang. it wasnt out of nationalistic fervour but just a means of coping with the intensity of the moment.the pressures is the reason why drama and irrational behaviour accompanies most WC more than we see at other footballing competitions like the champions league for example. players need to be very strong and i must say that experience helps. its only natural.

Two important things
1. Ability
2. Experience

You have to have both. Rufai in 1998 had the experience but the ability was no longer there.

If Uzoho's ability is far better than Ezenwa, then experience is less of a factor.
If they have comparable ability, then we can pick the more experienced.

It is up to the coach to decide but if those are our options, we should see Uzoho in other high profile friendlies to gauge his level.
thats why i say experience is not about age and expereince is not a stand-alone criteria. between uzoho and ezenwa i will pick uzoho

That means Agu is up against these three guys while Rohr is looking for one who can replace Mikel Obi incase of any eventuality and I think Joel Obi, Abdul Ajagun, Sone Aluko and Sokari can be given the chance to prove themselves. grin

Keep in mind Ndidi and Onazi roams with the later roaming further ahead. So, Agu who can seat and screen the defence is also an asset to the team.
Oga , forget Agu. Haven't you seen enough of his terrible performances when given a chance? He's a waste of spot bro. We should be talking about replacing him with the other uninvited midfielders.
