The Mormons, Scientologists, and similar groups also practice this same wickedness, breaking up families and destroying well established bonds of love.

1. The pastor and church will determine your actions and outlook on life
2. You will do certain things that will encroach on the space of your other family members and they will resist
3. You will look upon them no more as beloved siblings but sinners who need to repent and join your church
4. You will see sin in everything and become a judge of others and they will reject you and your doctrine
5. Your parents will lose control over you as your authority no longer comes from them but from the church which is actually very UNBIBLICAL

As far as your parents do not ask you to do evil, you must obey them and honor them more than the church and their pastor.

What would you say by comparison about the following scriptures?

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”

If one curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in utter darkness.

Proverbs 23:22

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Jesus when he used the word HATE meant choices BY COMPARISON. in other words, if your parents want you to do something contrary to what Gods word has said then like Peter asked, "who should we obey"?
