Army, Navy and Airforce have the same salary structure and the same promotion time frame. They are all under one body called Ministry of defence.
The difference is their allowances and some packages.

I don't know anytin abot Custom or Immigration

Do you think its possible for a person to pass out as a Captain in the army?
I've read somewhere in this forum where a guy said his brother got connection blah blah blah and he pass out as a captain( which I think is nearly impossible)
but what are your thoughts?

I advise anyone wanting to join the military to read and understand the Harmonized Terms And Conditions Of Service before thinking of joining the military to avoid regrets and frustration. Military is a different world entirely. It's more like a cult group. Once u entered, very hard to come out. Many soldiers join the military without knowing what it entails. So many are regretting. One met me this morning and was telling me about resigning. I asked him how many years he has spent in the system he said just 5years. I laughed and handed him the HTACOS to read about resignation from service. After reading, he was crying. There are so many things in the military that some officers and soldiers don't know about. Recently, 3 soldiers are facing a death sentence while 22 others have life sentence. If these soldiers read HTACOS I don't think they would have landed in this mess they found themself. There are some offences that look so minor in the civil sector when committed but when such offences are committed in the military, may lead to either death sentence, life in prison, degradation or dismissal of personnel as the case may be. Three of such offences are: AWOL, sleeping on duty and cowardice. The 2007 HTACOS stated that a soldier who sleeps on duty shall face life sentence while cowardice was death sentence. Please read the 2012 Harmonized Terms And Conditions Of Service governing the area in which u want to be commission. E.g. DSSC Terms and Conditions is slightly different from RC specially in the area of promotion and appointment.

Can one apply with MSC please?

Yes, but you won't have any seniority over someone with B.Sc. You'll start with the rank of Lieutenant if you apply through DSSC and 2nd Lieutenant if you applied through SSC.

It has no point. The army (and other branches of the military) do not recognize a Masters degree. Even PhD holders are only given three months seniority, which is as good as nothing.

Both have their advantages/disadvantages
SSC: You compete with regulars for position, you can hold the position of a COAS. You can command combat troops. And SSC officers are usually posted to combat arms like infantry, artillery etc
Note: You sit for courses for promotion
For dssc you practice your profession. you cannot command troops, except you convert Promotion is automatic every 4years without exams, they usually retire at the rank of colonel or brigadier general cos age is not always on their side.

So for a guy like me I think dssc is better but why do they retire at brigadier?
Is it compolsory to retire at that rank or you can still keep going?
Thanks

The key thing is age and also availability of space at that rank. In the military they operate using the triangular promotion approach i.e the higher you go the more competitive the promotion. Normally you will be promoted as at when due up to the rank of Colonel. After that na "pressing button" things or prayers because promotion from then is by slot and note age is not on your side.
But wait first why do you want to join the military? hope is not because of lack of employment, because the reality is the possibility of death is high, nowadays both dssc and SSC are deployed in hot zones, even medical doctors, na make you no come join begin cry later, because no going back when you already in.

How to build a career for yourself may be somehow tasking and will take a while to do but in the end, it is always worth it for those who really put in the work.

On knowing what career line to build on, you have to consider your strengths and weaknesses. Look deep within and understand the things that interest you as well as the things that distract you. Knowing these things will greatly help in choosing where to grow from.

It could range from getting a job as an intern to learn certain skills and build on them, as well as making out a job for yourself and building a career out of it.
Your choice career path should be something that excites you and can be counted as an hobby rather than work.
