Since he is not the owner of the property and just renting, it can't be building insurance, it will be contents insurance. Having contents insurance is not a bad idea. Had it when I was living in an apartment about 18 years go. It's usually a small fee anyway. So if you have valuables, it's a good idea. Ralphlauren: |

Falzdbadtguy: Yes. It is. There is the state pension - based on your NI contributions. Now it’s compulsory legal requirement for all employers to enrol their employees in a workplace pension. So this means a certain percentage is deducted from your salary by a pension administrator (your employer also pays in a percentage into your pension pot). You can choose to increase your monthly pension contribution and you can also use to have your own private pension arrangement with a pension administrator. If you are on PAYE, you should be paying into a pension scheme. Abi did you sign a waiver for that too? you should check with that your agency! They might have stylishly made you sign a waiver which means they pay nothing towards pension contributions. |

Bossman: I agree it’s not a bad idea for a home with valuables. I actually thought my Mrs had home contents insurance when the damage on the carpet occurred but it turned out that she also assumed I had it |

Gd evening everyone, ukmigrant, falzdbadguy, imconfused and every other contributor, u guyz have really enlightened us, Thank you. well I hope to travel to Canada in one or two years time ( from arguments and counter arguments here, I am staying away from UK lol). I am currently learning motion graphics and hope to start front end development(web design) in a months time, please are this skills lucrative abroad? let me screenshot this msg so in two or three years time if I eventually make it, I will look back and tell other upcoming nairalanders that Rome was not built in a day. 1 Like |

6sco:i heard coding is very lucrative. My brother in Germany just moans about the time he wasted as a lad not learning it. with the way artificial intelligence is going, you should look into that, i think Also, Germany offers tuitionfree post grad school. You might be able to get some real higher skills there before going to Canada, where perhaps web design or motion design is like aka selling recharge card...I dunno, it just feels 1990s stuff to me |

Ralphlauren: Lol!! Some UK people are stingy just like some others living in most western countries...imconfused and her husband might be the exemption and maybe it's because they have excess money to cater for extended families. Now some people who are based in UK/US can decide to be stingy, it's not a crime. I want to believe that most people living abroad should know that cost of living in Nigeria is still very cheap unlike compared to the UK/US. Most people in Nigeria have their own houses that they have no need to be paying compulsory monthly rent or mortgage and for those that are renting they only get to pay the rent once a year. Even other expenses like water, electricity and so forth are still cheaper in Nigeria...and some are not even compulsory to have or pay for. |

I dunno sha, as someone here even budgetting money for a haircut You now send money home and they use it to do tithe or do chairman in harvest bazaar or take boys to the club and drink henessy etc... Basically, things you don't do....What will be the justification. Maybe too extreme examples What about send money and they use it to buy iphones or other luxuries, when they can get basic stuff. I'm just saying generally sha, am not referring to imconfused 2 Likes |

6sco: UK sef doesn’t want or need you. They are looking for highly skilled individuals not people like you with a basic skill like “web designing”. You want an honest advice ? Consider a career in IT security, Information security and cloud computing. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

where there's a will, there's a way. My Uncle never went to University and dropped out of secondary school when we were younger, he tried going to USA thru the Ecowas migration route That failed, so he came back, married, did many menial jos relying on his siblings for help I dunno how this old man without any skill, besides street skills moved all his family to Baltimore Once the laughing stock of his familia....he's now rocking USA Even me, na just God, forget being a doctor....i went to FGC Ogbomoso Many reading this and thinking it's just our silver spoon. Think outside the box and rub minds with bigger minds, stand on the shoulders of great men. Get off instagram and facebook All the best 20 Likes 1 Share |

Don't know much about motion graphics. However, combining it with Front-end web development can certainly help. Since you plan on going to Canada, you need to search the job boards there to see if your skillset currently matches what's trending there. IT is a changing field anyway, so a particular technology it may be trending now, but not 2 years from now. You just need to be able to adapt. and learn new skills. 6sco: 1 Like |

Falzdbadtguy: She got what she deserved. She had an insane amount of the drugs in her luggage. Tramadol we all know is one of the number one commonly abused prescription only drugs in nigeria. Do GPs even prescribe it in UK? My question is where did she buy the drugs from ? Certainly online !! How come they weren’t detected by royal mail (if it was posted to her within the country) or by the customs people if it was posted to her from overseas? |
