Nigeria Stock Market Among The Top 5 Global Performers In 2017: CNN U.S. stocks were on a first-class ride into record territory in 2017. But they weren't alone. The value of public companies on global stock markets grew by $12.4 trillion in 2017, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices, which included dividends in its calculation. A number of markets even outperformed the U.S. Here's a look at the biggest stock market winners of 2017: 1. Argentina 2. Turkey 3. Nigeria 4. Hong kong 5. U.S The Nigerian All-Share index is still miles below record highs set in early 2008, but a 43% rally in 2017 has helped to close the gap. The index suffered mightily in 2015 and 2016 as low oil prices, militant attacks, currency troubles, elections and Ebola hit investor sentiment. But oil prices have moved higher, the central bank has made it easier to swap currencies and the economy has snapped out of recession, explained Zin Bekkali, founder and CEO of Silk Invest. Many analysts are optimistic that stocks could keep rising in 2018. "If you look at where we stand today, the [Nigerian] market is still one of the cheapest markets on the planet," said Bekkali. http://money.cnn.com/2017/12/27/investing/best-stock-markets-2017-world/index.html |

Bianco1: i posted ALERT on this NASCON few week ago when it was selling at 20.40, that the stock has enter premium price. still a bit high based on their latest report. although i am expecting Q4 to be good result which will push the price high or to justify the premium if it continue to ride high before result comes out. fair value is around 16 region in my own opinion |

Current price, what is your take on CI leasing? The PE looks very attractive. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by DeRuggedProf: 3:01pm On Dec 28, 2017 |
Momoney54: The pending share reconstruction is less attractive.... DISCL: Reconstruction is known for capital erosion on NSE. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by currentprice: 3:16pm On Dec 28, 2017 |
^^ Momoney54: I agree with my boss above, if not the reconstruction issues, cileasing could have used opportunity of that bull period to reach N4 and range above N3 plus till Audited report which will still be at dicount based on their latest Q3. cc NoMoney cc Mr Anthony |

No stock in the NSE is currently as underpriced as WAPCO... we saying it from day one. 2018 is our year. First stop N100 then N180 then N200. Same thing I saw when I called fidelity here. Pls don't cry to me about how I want to push up price, cos we started saying it long ago when it was on offer. Thank you. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Coolcash1: 4:27pm On Dec 28, 2017 |
stcool: I don't doubt the fact that it its currently under priced. but like it as being pointed out here severally, upward price movement of the stock is largely dependent on numbers. Investors want to see how the rights recently raised will be used to create value in the long run. Thus, making it a long term stock for investors with long term horizon. However, in the short term, the Q4 financials will either make or mar the stock. If the performance is negative (loss), then the price will further go down south and vice versa.... Dis: hold some units in my portfolio |

stcool: You don't need to do this, this is more like monkey hunting. All man to himself. You don't invite people to come and make money, if you do it more like a Ponzi scheme or monkey hhunting. And it not also proper to invite people to come and lose money, I think that will be callous. 1 Like |

stcool: Current Price won't like this but let him keep fighting the gods till he get incapacitated. For some us that is STRONGLY against the stock market to invest our TREASURY BILL fund in LAFARGE/WAPCO simply tells that it's a WEALTHY PLACE. Already sitting on a decent position. *ThE OcToPuS*

emmanuelewumi:Pls explain this statement of yours...how is the right going to be listed again, I thought it has ended... On Wapco, if the right were successful, then price appreciation is next... My portfolio going into 2018 is Wapco, transcorp, fidelity bank, and Dangote sugar(my favourite of them all)...do your due diligence... |
