Like I stated earlier, I'm enthusiastic of anything related to medicine(the art and science of healing). I don't think there's any other profession better than that. And when I say medicine, I don't mean mbbs only .. Right from my secondary school days, , I've always had a flair for chemistry, physics but biology? I knew nothing in biology because it was kind of boring to me. I never read it, I left class whenever the subject teacher came in.. But now, it's history. I still don't think I know anything in that subject though, do I? Lool... But I wrote it in Jamb na.. 11 Likes |

Fast forward to 2017(I finished sec sch in 2016), when the UTME form was released.. I and my friends rushed to the reg centre the first day but couldn't register until Friday when the link from jamb headquarters(Abuja) was made available.. Successfully, we registered but before then, I had already told people(friends and relatives) that I'll be picking lag(mbbs).. Guys, you need to hear the words of discouragement.. Darn! They made me so scared like it was one herculean task... Wait! Did I say herculean? They made it seem like it was impossible to achieve This is where I'll say; guys, believe in yourself. There's no limit to what you can achieve. Yeah.. Thank God I didn't listen to them. That was one of the things that made me register early - to start preparations early in order to prove them wrong So guys, we were given a novel 'in dependence'... Boring as hell.. I didn't read it scored 56 in English... Thank God o.. I think the same novel will be used by these current aspirants. So guys, try reading it for at least three times before your exams. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Registering early made me have it in mind that I had to start preparing.. Bio + Phy + Chem is the combo. I focused more on biology but I didn't forget about the rest. Past questions were also of great help too even though they didn't repeat any of the questions. Past questions give you insight on how the questions are being set and how you need to answer them. Jambites can get the Lamlad texts(including the recommended texts, you'll find them at the bottom page of the syllabus) ... They were helpful to me. I tried to read wide everyday but I didn't.. It's possible but it isn't that easy. Chores, distractions and other things na.. And I love playing games, Fifa, pes etc. If you're just beginning with preparations, make sure you create a timetable.. Discipline yourself to stick with it, Avoid distractions, Try to source information from more than a text, Practise with questions and work on your speed, And again, most of those pqs are filled with errors so, make sure you carry out proper findings on an answer before deciding.. 3 Likes |

Yeah.. On the day of my exam.. Guy man woke up early, nervous as hell. But then I thought, shey dem dey kill person for jamb centre ni? Ogbeni calm down jhor! Like seriously that really helped... A friend of mine who wrote the previous day had already scared the hell outta me that the questions were very different from the one we had been practicing.. But still I was calm. So, we thumbprinted and dang! Exams started. I attempted the subject I knew best, Chemistry~>Biology(this one followed cos it doesn't take much time) ~> Physics and English. Chemistry(40 questions) was sooo cheap, made 81 Biology was okay(40), 75 Physics was nice(40), 86. But English(60 questions)? questions from the novel seemed like mandarin to me.. Like I said earlier, 56 5 Likes 1 Share |

I was very sad when I saw my UTME result. Especially after seeing intimidating scores of some of my friends.. 300+ I even contemplated on doing COC to pharmacy but I didn't! I was fervently praying for post UTME to be reintroduced because I knew I didn't stand a chance of gaining admission with that score via the point system. Point system was useless(my o level grades are okay).. I think it's cheating sef. Then, news came in that the ban on post UTME had been lifted. I was overjoyed.. Then I knew that the only thing that could stop me from gaining admission was my myself if I did not take advantage(prepare!) of the situation... Schools have different ways they set their post UTME.. The subject combos differ.. After blasting jamb, endeavor to know how the post UTME of the school you're aspiring for is being set. So, I learned mine would be Math(yaay!), English(no novels here, so I felt good) and general paper!(wth? Where do I start from?) 3 Likes |

Preparations for post UTME began.. It wasn't easy guys cos I had to source information from a lot of places esp for the general paper. This is kinda similar for other schools... Okay, you'll be writing the same subjects you wrote in Jamb in your post UTME.. Will you just sitdown and start looking?Kolewerk. So I read like my life depended on it. It got to a stage that I felt like stopping. Then this thought came to me 'Mr if you don't make it, it's all your fault'. So I just had to encourage myself to keep up with the preparation. Guys, it doesn't matter what you do but you should just have it in mind that tough times never last, only tough men do. Just keep reading . ... Another problem with some people is that, after reading a bit they'll think they know all... it shouldn't be that way.. Should it? If there's one thing I learned while preparing/reading.. It's that you never know the level of your ignorance until you start sourcing out information. You'll be seeing yourself as an Einstein when in reality you know nothing! No man is an island of knowledge. So guys, after the the sleepless nights exam came.. While in the exam all, you know na the normal exam fever but as usual I shake am off 50 questions in 30 minutes(that thing no even reach 30 minutes sef ) Saw some questions that almost made my brain burst and eyes pop out of their sockets.. Skipped em. Aspirants, if you see a question you are not sure of or do not know, please skip. Don't waste your time! So I skipped all those eye popping questions, went through the rest like lightning and back, to attempt them. Calculators weren't allowed(never had problems with math). English was simple. General paper was probably brought from mars I knew most of them though... Thanks to God who gave me the strength to read a government text and three different current affairs booklets . And again, the questions were scattered! Those examiners sha Did some tubu tubu though.. But with sense o I call it the elimination method. You delete the options which you know are not close to the answers(look well, they're always there.. When no be 70s we dey) ... Came out of the hall sweating like kilode.. Went home. Guys, have you ever gotten home, put down some questions you could remember and check for the answers? I checked and realised that I failed two(I probably failed more)... O boy, come see sweat..I was scared and couldn't sleep... But I let it go sha 5 Likes |
