All those who failed medicals should have been allowed to continue because of God's grace. Then when they die in training we will all blame the devil or village people.

Sir u are wrong on this one, the officer that checked our credentials in camp told me dat i have an edge over others because I am an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, it's even on their site....dunno abt having Masters tho.

Oga Pijay is correct on that. You don't have any "edge" over others holding bachelors if you hold a masters as Nigerian Navy enlistment is concerned. Good you have a professional membership but don't count on that.

Can't they keep going till they reach major Gen or lt Gen?
Also is their promotion automatic after each 4 years?

In the Army DRC Officers can reach the rank of a Major General if there is vacant in his or her corp. Some DRC officers in the army retired as Major General. In corps like Finance, ordnance, Education, supply and transport and medical. Note that even some regular officers in the army retired at the rank of colonel and Brig gen too due to one reason or the other.

As for their promotion being Automatic, YES, DRC officers have automatic promotion in the Army till date.

I wonder why qualification needed for Architecture was reduced to Bsc in course 25 other than the normal Msc as it was past years

hmmm, Google search for the DSSC25 advert look at departments that are available and the required course of study.

I don't think attending a private school is the issue here, unless you know it's a sham school, if not you should be bothered about if there is any department a sociology graduate will fit in the Nigerian Navy.

Please what is the difference between Short Service Commission and Direct Short Service Commission? What advantage/disadvantage does one have over the other? Are you both placed on the same rank?
Hope those employed via SSC won't be required to go to the battle front or Sambisa forest?

From what I have read I have not seen a dept with degree requirement in sociology, the closest is personnel mgt, pub admin and hrm for the dssc.
You might want to consider taking recognised professional certifications in the stated fields.

I equally have no issues with you attending a private school, just do well in the aptitude test, submit legit docs, pass the medical test and face the selection board to convince them you are the right fit candidate.
