Hello Fellow Nairalanders,

please hear my story.
I'm a 300l student of a public university here in the north, 21years of age and Yoruba by tribe. Both my parent alive, am the first born with three siblings.
now here is my problem
my mother hates me so much that sometimes we don't talk to each other even though she is the one who pays my school fees, she abuses and rain insult at me for any slight mistake. There are sometimes that my mother will threaten me that she won't pay my school fees and that she would curse and disown me. Even today she was talking to me and I was not listening to what she said and before I realized it she start insulting me and she has snubbed me since morning. my mother is so wicked and a snob, sometimes I will greet her but she won't respond.
At times when I watch movies or see other people of my age interacting and chatting happily with their parents, I do question why God has decided to give me such an aggressive and hot tempered woman as a mother.

Prayer is the key if you are chrsitian , and be wise enof to submit ur self under her authority becos a mothers curse is always powerful. One day you will be free.

This should be the more reason why you should double ur hustle, become independent and still be respectful towards her. Walahi, she will just change.

Just endure it for one more year till school is over. Looks like she is a single mother and carrying all the responsibilities alone. Where is your father? Can’t he help with school fees or upkeep? Anyway, just endure till you finish school and start thinking of handwork or legal business to do so that you can move out of the house when school is over. Don’t worry, you will be fine. Once you are out of the house and able to help with your siblings your relationship might improve with your mother. If it doesn’t improve, just resolve in your heart that you will be a better parent to your own kids than she was with you.

If she curses you or insults you, she is cursing herself. None of her curses can ever come to pass in your life. Don’t let it get to you. She is showing signs of frustration and anger at possibly your father but pouring it on you as the first child and son. You probably remind her of your father too.

I believe u are a christian, remember that men ought always to pray and not to faint, again you may want to see a counsellor.

Maybe you should just talk to her and be interested in the things that make her happy... also use this opportunity to tell her how she makes you feel and find out (from her) what you can do to improve the relationship between you both.

with what you have written so far, she is still best you can have. do you know what it takes to pay for school fees and feeding. bro celebrate her. there is an adage that it is the child that a parent love, that get scold

She may utter doz words out of annoyance ND dat doz not mean she meant wot she said.since u know she z hot tempered just try as much as possible to avoid all doz tins u do dat makes her say a bad word to u.sometimes mothers do carry out der frustration on der child(ren) wen it becomes unbearable for dem to handle. To be a mother z nt an easy job xo just be a little nicer nd drop some of d bad habits dat makes her to curse u, all mothers meant well for der children..............whether ADOPTED or NOT she is still ur mother.

Listen. Bring your shoulders down. Show some respect. Smile...then maintain eye contacts while interacting with her. She's your mom. She pays your school fees. You're a fool. Is this the reward that innocent poor woman gets for giving birth and training you?
Do you know how many times she's gone hungry, thirsty, denied herself of important things her age grades and age mates are acquiring because of you imp?
Do you know how many times she's fallen I'll cos of you?
How many times she's prolly begged someone who's not worth her pleas just cos of you cow?
How many times she's had to clean your shyyte, saliva, catarrh and vomit and stained herself in the process cos of you ungrateful dog?

@op you well so? Something must be really wrong with you to come out to tell the whole world that you have the worst mother in the world . You even have the audacity to call your mother wicked and a snob; unbelievable; I ask again you well so? As if that was not enough, you’ve even gone to the extent of calling her an aggressive and hot tempered mother; you sure have a way with the use of terrible words. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE SORT OF WORDS THAT YOU USE TO DESCRIBE PEOPLE.

She not only pays your school fees but also provides a roof over your head, feeds you, cloths you and gives you money for spending and this is how you say thank you to her? You are really pathetic and ungrateful (no offense and hope none taken).

Look at the example you give that today your mum was talking to you and you were not listening to what she was saying; very disrespectful of you if you ask me for someone to be talking to you and not paying attention to what they were saying. Whether it is your mum or anybody else, you need to learn some etiquette, and pay attention when people talk to you; as you won't like it either if when you are talking to someone and the person isn't paying attention to you.

Listen mate; you need to retract your steps as to why your mum is angry with you (maybe she is not your real mum, a question you can ask her directly) as I see you as a very disrespectful somebody and no wonder your mum behaves in that manner towards you. When you start showing respect to your mum, you will see changes occur.

What you need to do now is to have a close door one to one session with your mum and let her know that you will like this unfriendly situation happening between both of you to be resolved. You will like to be close to her, you will like to be able to gist with her and laugh out lough together without this drama that currently exists between both of you. Try that and see if things wouldn’t improve after this method .

Lastly, never ever come out again to bring down your mother in this manner; even if you are that angry with her. ENOUGH SAID.
