I started my natural hair journey a year ago, I have a thick and full hair though coarse but recently I do loose a lot of hair, I don't make my hair anymore only had my hairdo twice from start.. I do use naturals like onions, honey, egg, aloevera, name it..What do you think can stop my hair loss?. |

jaeon: I think the emboldened is the reason for your hair loss. Try doing more protective styles. It's all about balance, taking care and protecting |

Wheeeew! This thread is Absolutely Amay-zing! I'm a 'hairthusiast',lol. My sisters nd me literally make our own products which are a combo of other products, plants(lmao, yes)nd other weird stuff. I take really good care of my hair nd all buuuuut...its too much for me. I have all three types(b in front,c in the middle nd a at the back) ,its really long nd full(product of genes nd the all the products I've slathered on it)that sometimes its over the whole place and I can't get fresh air. I can literally feel my scalp sweating(if there's anything like that). I also try to not use direct heat on it so straightening isn't really an option. I dedicate a whole day to washing, combing nd styling that I literally have sore arms by the time I'm through. Do you have any idea of what I can do to tone down the bulk of my hair? I love my afro, but a girl's head gotta breath. |

Hannysmilez: Oh my God. I completely forgot to answer you, I read it and thought I'd reply back when home but it totally skipped my mind, which I'm extremely sorry for. Maybe try sectioning it into four sections while washing, deep conditioning etc. That way you'll be able to concentrate one one section at a time and it's way faster than everything being a wet mess |

Hello everyone I'm new to the naturalista world. I currently tried a wash and go using water, leave-in, curl enhancer and Eco stying gel. . . It came out well, my curls popped and all but I'm lost as to how to properly preserve the curls at night so I can rock em tomorrow and how long before I wash all the products off my hair? |

Yonce: If your hair is short, part into 3 sections and bond it like in the first picture If your hair is long, do the pineapple method like in the second picture. Then cover with a satin cap 1 Like

I have forgotten this thread oo. I saw your "small chop" pictures and found myself here. Your curls left me jealous sha. Anyways, I'm still transitioning. 6 months in and I'm trying to build a solid regimen and listen to my hair. Around the time you did your big chop, I went to get braids oo. The thing no gree me so I opted for something that will you know free me. Crazy me, I actually chop a very very small part of hair to see what it will look like. I didn't want to be shocked after the big chop. And I think I have a 4a/3c hair, but predominantly 4a I went natural because I was fed up of perms even though it was kinda long and I wanted to explore my hair in it's natural state. Nice and lovely thread. Encouraging women to embrace their natural texture. I can't wait to big chop when the time is right. @Lovelygurl |

JuneOctober: Awww lol. About the solid regime, I think you should be doing a lot of protective styles, since you're still transitioning. My transitioning regime had been Braids as a protective style. I took them off at 6-8 weeks because they got frizzy very fast (usually I leave them up to 3 months . I'm lazy like that lmao ) When I took them down, I'd always leave rhem for 4-6 weeks, deep condition, moisturise etc I know people always say protective styles are the best for those who are transitioning. Yes they are but I felt my hair grew the longest and fastest when I took the braids down and deep conditionined every week. |
Re: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by JuneOctober(f): 11:05am On Jan 07, 2018 |
lovelygurl: My hair also respond well when I deep condition and do all that stuff which is why I rocked my transitioning hair for like 5 months before getting braids. And yes, this braids will stay for 10-12 weeks on my hair. I am lazy too |
