Hello my dear friends. Im glad, we have crossed over not only into a new year but also a different loci as our galaxy swims through the infinite universe away from the BIG BANG. Its been a quite revolutionary year for me. I pray we would be together much much longer and continue our search for meaning and our ultimate reality. May the Universe bring forth new wonders and hopefully a New God who would displace Allah . Hahaha. 2 Likes |

Re: Ducking Out Of Church by ScienceWatch: 12:17pm On Jan 01, 2018 |
Sarassin:I agree. Religion is only the school where one goes to learn the knowledge that can change ones core being. Until one have brought the mind under control through concentrative meditation and purified the heart of all those prejudices and desires which affect its balance, we can never see the truth, you can never find the the creator. It is so subtle that one must approach it with an undivided mind. If anything is pulling the mind this way or that, Like envy, jealousy, revenge, hate, lust etc, one cannot find the truth. To refine the Self or to be born again means to train the mind so that it can enter the pure heart into this highly concentrated and balanced state which moves directly towards the goal of finding truth, the Light. To refine the Self means to free ones self from illusions, to eliminate the false ideas. Mental illusions are the greatest ones. When one have got rid of them, then one can perceive more clearly. Illusion and ignorance dwell in every mind and education alone cannot bring freedom and must go. This is the reason why a teacher says that the ascetic who merely practices self-mortification and does not free the mind from illusion, does not find the truth/Light/God. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world." 1 Like |

ScienceWatch: Happy New Year to you sir! Very well put, I think also that self-mortification, be it self-flagellation as practised by Opus-Dei adherents or even self-infliction by Nuns has always been considered a method of transcendence, that is to say the ecstasy of pain. |
Re: Ducking Out Of Church by ScienceWatch: 3:51pm On Jan 01, 2018 |
Sarassin:Thanks Sarassin, and the same to you and your family. I agree, the sincere truth seekers are willing to pay a heavy price to enter the deeper esoteric/metaphysical/spiritual paths that lead to the Light. The mind functions from this borrowed life, taken directly from the divine Light in the heart, otherwise the brain could not work and there would be neither memory nor knowledge. Ultimately, the mental process obtains its functioning power from the divine life. Why are all these scriptures written? Primarily not to build churches and mosques, but to guide us to the entrance to the higher path of living. Those great revelations contain an esoteric content also. They were written, in many instances, by the light of the Overself/God. The secret science is the esoteric wisdom, that which distinguishes illusion from reality. The knowledge of metaphysics may be open to all to learn, but the secret path has been kept for a few. Had it been given to everyone, it woud have unsettled their minds. It has been given only to those who have been ready, and till today has remained a secret. Humanity has changed mentally, All religions have a very important roll to play. Corrupt scientists or Misplaced Faith in science has left humanity weak and unable to climb the high mountains of esoteric/spiritual experience. |
Re: Ducking Out Of Church by ScienceWatch: 4:30pm On Jan 01, 2018 |
Sarassin:Awesome, yes no amount education helps one to accurately describe Gnosis. It seems the more education one has the more stupid one sound when attempting what is impossible. Many people has landed in a mental Asylum , messing with esoteric/spiritual. These people want what ever their eyes see. Filled with insatiable desires, full of hypocrisy, pride, and arrogance, holding unwholesome views through delusion, they work with unholy resolve for what they desire. This expresses the natural outlook of the materialists. They are deluded, for what they imagine to be real is nothing but a vanishing dream. Bewildered by many fancies, entangled in the snare of delusion and Bling Bling, addicted to the gratification of lust, they fall into a foul hell and take other innocent people with them. |

Re: Ducking Out Of Church by ScienceWatch: 4:54pm On Jan 01, 2018 |
Sarassin:The problems in many religions are the result of fake pastors with no esoteric/spiritual experience. Their students/congregations can never progress higher than their teacher. Fortunately Sages are not able to fake their way, like most pastors. Their students have a high success rate of entering higher spiritual dimensions. It may be useful to add here that renunciation is an inner invisible giving-up. It is the only real renunciation and the only one that matters. Practice of worship, gift, and austerity should not be given up ; it is very necessary ; they are the purifiers of the wise. Religion has its place. It is necessary, for it purifies the masses and lifts them from a gross materialism to something a much finer. One need not abandon it in order to find the truth. It acts as a purifier, provided that one perform their religious practices without seeking for any rewards. Don't ask God to give you anything in return for your worship. Do it out of reverence to a higher Power. Do not, for instance, give your local church a large amount of money, simply because you want God to give you a son for a child. Or you want a promotion etc. Fake pastor encourage this behavior that keeps keeps the giver from entering the kingdom. |
Re: Ducking Out Of Church by Nobody: 7:56pm On Jan 01, 2018 |
ScienceWatch: I am not entirely sure that the problem with religion is fake pastors, there are other religions too, rather I see the issue of fake pastors as a symptom of the malaise of a particular religion, specifically the dumbing down that has presently infected Charismatic Christianity in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator. As you allude, pure spirituality is not mass disseminated and nor should it be, modern lifestyles does not encourage introspection and personal self-development. When you say that religion purifies and lifts the masses from gross materialism to a higher purpose, I disagree, In theory it should but in practice I see no higher proponent of crass materialism and consumptive greed than religion. ScienceWatch: As someone I know would say, this is just so on point! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Sarassin:You make excellent points here Sarassin, when we examine the reason for the growing "Crass materialism and consumptive greed" we find that most so-called spiritual leaders are deeply entrenched in materialism as opposed to the superiority of spiritualism. They have been defrauded by misleading science and have lost sight of the far superior power of spirituality. We have witnessed the intellectual degradation of modern mankind as it irritably denounces the truth of spiritualism as illusory and impulsively and stubbornly upholds the errors of materialism as truth! I am hesitant to add the following for a general viewing, as it is mostly misunderstood, but knowing that you have entered yourself into the spirit realm, I address it to you. Materialism succeeds in solving its numerous minor problems only by shutting its eyes to its single major problem—itself. For nobody has ever seen matter, nobody has ever handled it and nobody has ever known where to detect its presence. Its existence is a bluff. MATTER thus becomes a merely illegitimate entity in our explanation of the world, it is a fiction which works quite well for the purposes of practical life but becomes meaningless for the purposes of spiritual truth. When such an erroneous notion is seen for what it is it will simply vanish from one's understanding and be seen for what it really is. Material matter is not what we think it is. It is an illusion. Spirit is the underlying true reality. So the problems in religion can only be corrected by competent spiritual leaders that can teach and also demonstrate the spiritual manifestations of practical power to its students. |
Re: Ducking Out Of Church by ScienceWatch: 10:06pm On Jan 02, 2018 |
Sarassin:Yes, those adherents knew that to transcend the imprisonment of materialistic thought the body must be checked. It is well know that for many people, pain or sorrow helps them transcend their crass materialism. Jesus instructed that one must die to oneself, the so-called material body with its senses. Belief in matter, in short, is belief in a gross but mesmerizing illusion. This is the emphatic message of the true spiritual teaching to a materialistic age, a message that also yields a warning against the useless pursuit of mere material phantoms. We destroy the power of a terrifying nightmare or unpleasant dream when we awaken and discover its true spiritual nature. Similarly we destroy the power of illusive matter—this material idol with feet of clay who many blind worshipers have wrongly revered—over the spirit when we awaken into Truth. Yet the incredible difficulty of this educational task of spirituality may be understood by comparing it with the task of convincing a dreamer whilst he is still dreaming that his dream environment of houses, persons and conversations is an imagined mental one. But, We who are in the waking state also live in the same imagined mental world. This statement sounds as incredible to us while we are awake, as it would to the hypothetical dreamer in this example. The foundations of all true religions are spiritual, it is not primarily a secular activity. That is why the best educated speakers/preachers make the worst spiritual leaders. A spiritual leader/pastor etc that cannot demonstrate practical manifestations of spiritual power to match the doctrines it is birthed from, is a fake. He is not a leader, he may be a useful teachers aid to the leader.. |
