A business thrives when an enterprenuer identifies a societal problem and creates solutions. With N300,000 you can solve a common problem, which is lack of access to credit (loans). Solution: Private lending by setting up a cooperative society. Legal Framework: Involves registration with the local governing agency. In Abuja, for example, you have to register with Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). However, you can minimize capital by filing an application and operating for 6 - 12 months to get properly acquainted. Office Space: Its necessary, but better to start operating with your home address to save capital (which is limited to N300,000). Client Base: Capitalize on already existing structures like cooperatives for MDAs, churches and educational institutions. Numbers: (Most interesting part ) First Month: Capital: N300,000 Debit: - Your Salary: N30,000 - Publicity: N20,000 (bulk sms, fliers) - 1 Month Tenure Loan of N10,000 * 25 individuals @ 20% Monthly Interest Rate (and 3% Admin Fee Deducted from Loan): N250,000 Total: N300,000 Credit: - Repayment of N10,000 * 25 individuals @ approximately 23% Interest rate: N307,500 Profit (Estimate) is N7,500 Business Plan: - Repeat this cycle for 6 - 12 months - Discipline yourself to survive off 30k - 50k salary so that the business can grow. - Minimize operating expenses. - Secure funds through referrals, guarantors, post dated cheques, direct debit orders etc. - Limit loan amount to N10,000 in the first year of operating. Conclusion: You will be amazed at the power of compound interest. Your N300,000 investment will turn to millions in less than a year if you can maintain financial discipline, miminize costs and use the methods outlined above to secure your disbursed funds. Be sure to complete registration (pay fees), get a business account and employ cheap labour (corps member or IT Student) after 6-12 months. Best of luck. 11 Likes |

Put the money in a fixed deposit account for a while then make a research on what skill/ business venture you want to invest on. Learn the ups and downs of the business/ skill ( at least for 6months) while the money is still cooling off in the bank and when you eventually decide to invest, start with 50% of that money. Keep reinvesting the little generated profits back into the business so as to maintain a small but steady growth of the business. After 6 months of steady growth, you can now add the remnant 50% unused funds in your fixed deposit into your business so as double your profit margins. Keep reinvesting 70% of your profits back into the business which is one of your sure routes to being successful in your business endeavors. Best of luck! 7 Likes 1 Share |

this may seem odd but if you dont have any idea of what to do with the money look for someone around with skill or potential and invest at least half of the money in them be partners and find ways to grow. There are so many young genius out there in different fields who just need little amount of money to blow you can be the persons manager. Just my opinion 4 Likes |

fecosequence:If you can't as little as think and come up with an idea, how do you expect to see that the idea thrives given all the accustomed challenges unique to different ideas? It has to come from within. It's important you decide on an idea on your own, and then seek help on how to push and nurture the idea to reality. The world needs solution providers and visionaries. Look around you, they're so many problems, start there! 1 Like |

Foodstuff biz is a very good idea, just look for a good and busy location to get a store(not too expensive, so you dont spend all the money in renting a shop).Invest about 200k of that money in buying food items and you will make good profit. You can also invest in wholesale consumables, though the capital is much but you can think of anyone that your money can cover for a start. Mini importation is also a good idea, thats if you can be patient for the profit to come in. 4 Likes 1 Share |
