It's about sacrifice for some players, Moses attacking talent should not be in doubt to anyone following the SE, coz he's simply amazing with the GWG, but just as mikel made a sacrifice to achieve club success and trophy in detriment of his attacking talent.
That's the sacrifice he's making now to achieve success.
If you watch Chelsea you notice
1: in every game one of the two wing backs stays back more often allowing the other wing back freedom to go forward.
Moses is the strongest and fastest of the wing backs it only natural for conte to give the attacking freedom to the wing back who is less physical of a defensive presence Moses is the stronger defensive presence, so he has to sacrifice for team success.
Nice points. And the fact that he has to sacrifice his favourite roles has deprived him of individual awards and adequate involvement in goal scoring at his club. Thus, depriving him of some respects as a qualitative attacker . Its a thing of concern for me.

That is what they don't want to hear.

But if left to me there should be an age limit for players participating in CHAN.

If the major purpose is to unearth talented players who are not given the opportunity to shine because of the preponderance of foreign players in the national team, then preference should be given to the younger players. Is someone like Rabiu Ali still aspiring to make the Super Eagles Team?

This tourney, IMO, should be restricted to U21 players still playing in their local leagues. We still have a good number of players within this age bracket that have not had the opportunity to showcase themselves. Besides, scouts are typically after young talented players and not those who have passed their primes in the local leagues. Europeans also have an U21 Tourney different from the U19/20. Cant we also do same? But in this case solely for home based players. Besides this will give teams a good start in the scouting for U23 players. For Eg the next AAG is in 2019 and Olympics in 2020. Players who are U21 in 2018 would still be U23 in 2020.

I am still yet to buy into this CHAN idea.

Amaju P led NFF must hear this.
Good one there

It'd be better if CAF themselves, either turn it to an age grade competition or organize one different.

Lolz, sometimes I feel some people just criticize a player, so they can gain attention..

OK oh, attention gotten..

Zappacosta now better than moses ehn, lolz. Isorai..

Moses was injured for more than a month, and Chelsea lost about 3 games, even got a whooping for Roma...
Who was playing then?, was it Moses's ghost?..
Conte even had to start playing aspilicueta as a wing back at some point, because zappacosata was not performing up to moses's level,
and immediately Moses came back, they quickly put him back into the fray of things, and guess what?, his first start, he got an assist, and since then Chelsea has not lost a game..

Agree yesterday,, he was not at his usual best, he set the standard for himself, so we expect him to perform to that standard at all times, but he didn't yesterday, and I dare say it's because he was fatigue, it's always easy to know when moses is fatigue, it you follow him, few days rest, and he is back to his energic self..

See ehnn , we know wetin Una dey find, but truth is, moses go continue to bench zappascosta, because, moses is class, and class will always surpass form..

Btw, shey Leicester city don sign new midfielder , silva ehn, I dey wait for Una, very soon , na ndidi matter Una go dey use nose follow nyash, dey try detect any fowl smell.. We dey kampe , dey wait Una..

Touch not my players, And do my eagle no harm.. Hehehe

Bros, sometimes you should just ignore these ignorant posters. I have come to realize that most people who post here do not even watch the games they post about, believe it or not.

I watched Arsenal v Chelsea yesterday, and VicMo didn't have a great game due to fatigue but he wasn't horrible. Take for instance, the two goals Arsenal scored yesterday (were created from) came from Zappacosta's wing; yet some folks are here promoting him because they read the craps posted by some dumb folks in the media with their own individual agendas! Listen, VicMo is going to hold onto his position for a very long time if Zappacosta is his biggest threat at Chelsea. The two are simply not in the same class. You gotta be blind not to notice that and Antonio Conte is definitely not blind.

VicMo was one of Chelsea's best players last season and he has remained one of their best player this season. Check out Chelsea's results when Moses is out (either with injuries or on suspension). Trust me, Antonio Conte knows his values to the team. I advise folks to ignore the BS the English media tend to post about African players in general and Nigerian players in particular. They all have their agendas.

Kog45:
Sir with due respect you have spoken and i need to make my own contribution to your comment which did not portrayed Moses as a good player and did not acknowledges his contribution to the success of Chelsea last season and Nigeria qualification to WC.Victor Moses deserves more than this cos he was highly influential to Chelsea as a team and just poor performance in two or three matches should not have warrant this slain comment.

During APOTY nomination i came out boldly to tell anyone who care to listen that Moses is not winning APOTY and when three players were shortlisted i came out and said Salla,Aubemeyang and Mane deserved it,this is to tell you some of us believe he has not done enough to merit it.

I have read some of your comments on Moses Victor even Ekong Troost which i quite agreed and i wasn't surprised cos you always saying it that he is not a team player due to his excessive dribbling but with your post it seems you don't rate him as a player.

I watched Arsenal match and i don't believe in giving excuses for bad performance but do we say Morata is a terrible player for poor performance yesterday against Arsenal, honestly you are too harsh in evaluating Moses.

It's normal for forumites to champion Moses for APOTY cos he had a great season and Conte will always remember him as one of the players that made his formation unique or what do you want to say about his contributions to WC qualification, scoring three goals, winning MOTM and making CAF team in every WC match, he deserves little respect.

I do not understand what you mean by we don't have something better, mind you we beat Zambia without Moses in Ndola, beating Argentina without Moses but Argentina couldn't beat Nigeria twice without Messi, this is to tell you the team is solid.

Victor Moses remain one of the best Nigeria player and his positive contribution to the team outweigh his negative and remain the best Nigeria player during WC qualification and Rohr rate him highly.

I don't like it to because sincerely he's better than Willian Attacking wise, his penetration, skill creativity is something to behold in a GWG shirt. But as time goes on his goal tally will increase with more game time and confidence.

he isn't the only player to have featured consistently for chelsea within that period. Marcos Alonso has also been playing without even being substituted. Moses' poor form has been overshadowed by chelsea's good run of games. I monitor his stats when he plays. He hardly completes a dribble, 85% of his completed passes are backward, yet to score in the premier league for over 13 months, crosses so poorly. I could go on with his flaws. All I'm saying is that he needs to up his game. Zapa had a short cameo against stoke and his impact was felt. Moses failed to record a successful dribble against stoke left back, Ramadan. Niles was the better player yesterday in his flank. I fear for our world cup ambition if our players keep underperforming in their respective clubs

Bro, all you've said is true.

In fact, I have previously mentioned his crossing ability and end-product as his main weaknesses. I also opined that it wouldn't be a bad idea to start set-piece training to add to his abilities.

However, playing consistently for long stretches with very few days for rest can be very tiresome.

That not withstanding, I believe that with costa's new found form, Moses has to adapt and improve.

I believe in him; there's still time between now and June. So, it's too early to condemn him

Good point

But I've seen him surge forward a few times. Slotting in one or two quality crosses for Morata (a dominant force in the air) wouldn't be a bad idea

Anyways, I believe in him. There's always room for improvement

Typical Nigerian mentality to blame others for his/her misfortunes. It is safe to say the days of mediocrity is over.

Affections is supposed to win you awards?Or recognition of your exceptional performances.

If a player who plays in China is receiving an award,I think that is an indictment on the quality of African Female Footballers

I'm worried because most of our players arent getting enough playing time in their respective clubs. The few ones wey manage see ball play com dey f*ck up on top their performance. This is world cup year and we want our best legs in Russia. If by april/may we are still going back and forth over players being in form and players being afforded playing time, i'm afraid I may have to concede group stage elimination even before the ball is first kicked when we play croatia. Zapa is in form and if he continues in that way; his goals, assists, dribbles, lets just say with his improved overall impact, Moses will begin to see the bench more often than not.

I hope you will still be able to stand on this point when things get better with moses, we are always too quick to judge our players, even the salas, abua and mane you mentioned have had their off days. As good as mane and abua is, senegal and Gabon are yet to win the afcon, I could as well say they are not brilliant enough if I come from that angle or can you give a good excuse on why senegal and Gabon are yet to win the afcon with such kind of players? Even with a Sala, Egypt could not beat cameroon to win afcon.

We have started getting emotional again just because a Nigerian player is not doing well presently, na wa o!

There are some people that dont shift grounds becuase of their strong conviction on matters based on verifiable facts, I dont play to the gallery. Moses has never been a fantastic player even when he got loaned over and over again to different clubs ,all to no avail. I have hammered on this guy for sometime now and everything I have pointed out in him can be reckoned. Moses has finished developing , he is not an 18 years old. At Chelsea he plays with caution but whenever he plays for Nigeria he throws caution to the wind and do what ever that comes to his mind to the detriment of the team and that to me is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Dont make this look like Moses was one of the best players in EPL last season because he is not up there. Dude is just a notch up ahead Moses Simon because of goals. He has been dribbling in the EPL for years but he has not gotten anywhere with it. Some people even said he is our best player, now that set off the rage in me.

If your feelings is hurt because Moses is being dissected then suck it up like a man and come up with better argument.

That you don't think that a player is exceptional doesn't equate to hatred for that player. This ad-hominem reaction to people who hold different opinions based on their own assessment doesn't make your proposition superior, it only shifts focus from the argument.

If you think he is wrong, state the reasons why. "u hate the dude" doesn't address the points he raised

Coaches in international competitions of this magnitude are not usually comfortable with making changes to the starting line up in the defense and midfield especially if the setup worked in the immediate previous game. Remember one of the rules of coaching is 'you don't change a winning team'.

True that no two oppositions are same just also like no two midfield players could be the same. Facing an opposition with a different style of play from the previous may just involve the coach passing some vital tactical instructions on how to approach this game and also setting up the players a little differently without necessarily altering the starting line up.

A midfielder of a particular desirable quality may be brought in later in the game depending on how the game is progressing to either choke up the midfield and slow down the opponent or add more mobility to create more chances. As I said before, depending on how the game is progressing.

I just dey look all these forumites that want to die untop the guy head, over hyping the guy as if we dont know what he has to offer. Some even argued he deserve to win the APOTY...I don suffer, just because he is a danm Nigerian. Moses is not world class just a little above average!

Moses is a guy who believe he can dribble everybody on the pitch and score a breathtaking goal every single time, Conte monitored him and realize his end product is not that impressive and converted him to wing back and that experiment saved Moses's career. Now, they have a Zappaccosta, a terrific right back who can equally attack with great fluidity and his performances are beginning to expose Moses.

This same Moses becomes a hero of some sort when he plays for Nigeria. No, people make him a hero because we have nothing better but the most shocking and disturbing post I read here last year was that Moses deserve to win the APOTY....Get outa here! When Sala, Abua and Mane are there and posting terrific performances. If Moses wins the APOTY nobody will take us serious anymore. Moses is not what people try to sell here. I watch Moses when he plays for Nigeria, very careless and complacent but with few moments of brilliance we forget all his rubbish because Nigerians have poor memory just like they will vote buhari again then complain he is useless.

I am not saying Moses should sit on bench but place him where he belongs...See as they scatter the guy against Arsenal.
na Moses be una problem now maybe because of one or two matches, where u dey last season when m dey perform?
