It doesn't matter. Infact she doesnt have to come to germany to get it, she can easily get the letter from German Embassy in the US.

I really appreciate everyone's comment on this thread, I can even become a consultant now after reading through & following for few months.

Pls I have a question. I applied for 2018 winter session and discussed with the person I want to write sponsorship letter for me this Christmas period. She is German citizen but was posted by her company to a branch in US & will be relocating this January. She tried to get it done b4 travelling to US on the 6th but was told it can only be done 6 months to the time of my visa at the earliest otherwise it becomes invalid.

Will her status be a problem when she decides to do it sometime later this year, since she promised to get it done once she has a business trip or something else that brings her to Germany b4 my visa interview?
NB: She is still a German citizen, but will now be working in the US.

1. As attached by @Immafrank.

2. The prepaid courier envelope for visa interview should be addressed as follows :
From: The Visa Section,
German Embassy,
15 Walter Carrington Crescent,
Victoria Island, Lagos.

To: Your name and address plus your phone number.

Cost depends on location. For FedEx, within Lagos is around 1800. East of the Niger is around 3600 - 4500. North Central around 5500.
BlackDeutsche:
In the Visa Requirements list they mentioned passport pictures according to biometric specifications and prepaid courier envelope.

1. What is the biometric specification?
2. What are the details of the courier envelope? Should it be addressed (to whom)? And about how much should it cost @DHL/FedEx?

.

And I've always thought it must be gotten from Germany only. Thanks for the reply, it's comforting. I'll let her know when the time comes so she doesn't stress herself travelling.

I think it can only be gotten from Germany cuz the criteria is that the person must be a resident in Germany and he/she must be working in Germany and earning a certain amount.

Please guys,
I made a mistake while registering online for one of the schools i applied to and the school my first choice.
The school is FAU, I mistakenly entered my suname in place of my middle name.

I entered;

IGWE JUDE IGWE instead of
IGWE JUDE ONYEKA. IGWE is my surname.

Will this pose any issues for me?
I have sent the technical support team an email for the error but they are yet to reply. Should i send another mail directly to the school?

I need to know if am overacting or not please.
Thanks.
FAU-Erlangen is also my first choice. I intend to put in for a place for this year winter semester. I’m looking at MSc Material Physics, the application for WS 2018 starts January 18. Hopefully we get in....Please I’ll be seeking your guide on the FAU application process. Thank you

They should simply pay it on your behalf. You should then sort out, how to pay them back later

I know everyone's dream here is to succeed in Germany after studying. Often times, it's been mentioned here, that people who study computer related courses have better chances of getting jobs.

Also, people who studied medcine related courses, engineers and high skilled workers.

http://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/for-qualified-professionals/discover-germany

These occupations are in demand in Germany, so it makes sense why you have a higher chance of getting a job after studying. If you are in another field, then you might want to think twice, if your dream is to remain in Germany after studying. I am not trying to discourage anybody, just know how lucrative your course is. You wouldn't like to do odd jobs after studying or spend time looking for jobs.

Just be good in anything you do.

That was what I used to think too. My intending sponsor is now a Citizen (not just a resident) & the company she works for is headquartered in Germany where she had been working until her recent transfer to their branch in US. I believe she earns way above the amount needed (judging by the company's reputation, E.ON).

Well, I'll give myself no worries, I believe God will help me sort things out when the time comes. Thanks for your response

Hello All,

Please, who has an experience with canceling and rebooking an appointment? I have an existing appointment for work visa (about 3 months away) but I see dates that are closer than this (some are even 2 weeks away) from time to time. Can I cancel the existing one and rebook immediately? Like ASAP o. Has anyone here done this before with success? I'm weary because I do not wanna lose on both ends.

Thanks

Send your full name, date of birth, uni-assist application number, semester and year (SS18- For summer semester 2018 and WS18 for winter semester 2018) to the person. This information will be used as the payment details when making the payment. Check uni-assist website for their IBAN and BIC. Shalom

The Sponsor can also get it from Nigeria. e.g. Mr. A is a German citizen who works with Julius Berger in Nigeria. Mr. A got married to a Nigerian and he is willing to sponsor his wife's brother for a Masters in Germany. Mr. A mustn't travel to Germany to get the sponsorship letter, all Mr. A have to do is go to German Embassy in Nigeria and the letter will be issued.

Like i said earlier she can get it from the US. If you are still in doubt, make her call the German Embassy in the US and ask if its possible or not.

Thanks for your reply. I was just wondering if there would not be any lag/delay between the cancellation and the rebook. Wanna avoid a scenario where the booking page says passport number still in use despite cancellation.

Thanks again.

I doubt if they will recognise any other one since Goethe is a German institute in Nigeria, thus, the credibility as far as they are concerned. However, you can learn the language elsewhere and register for the test at Goethe as an external candidate. Your location will determine the centres that can be suggested to you. How far with the stuff? Shalom

Gents, are there people in the house that did their interview without getting embassy confirmation of appointment? My interview date is getting closer and embassy is yet to respond to my request for booking confirmation. Please if you are in that category kindly let me know .

Thanks they said that I should try and get the language done with here in Nigeria not a rejection though as they didnt stamp my passport. So I know that goethe normally has a tight schedule that's why I need schools here in Lagos Abuja and ogun state where I can do the lesson at least then prepare for the external exam at goethe. Pls if anyone knows place I can check out in these cities, I would gladly appreciate.

It is well. German Embassy does not stamp rejection on passport anymore as far as student visa is concerned. They will only send the original documents back with a letter in German and English stating the reason for the rejection. Moreso, since your passport will be in your custody, there is no way they will stamp it. Back then, they used to stamp D on passport immediately after the interview, but they have since stopped that too. Are you going for a language course? What is your highest qualification? PM. As for the language stuff, I think private tutor mostly done by Goethe teachers will be the fastest one in Lagos. Shalom

Never said so please I said it was a suggestion because of the way Nigerians have misused the language school in Germany opportunities.
