From the analyses from above, Raheem Lawal should be given the chance to prove himself in the team. He could be the best to deputize for Mikel Obi.

Until now, I don't understand why he was dropped despite his good performance whenever he played for Nigeria.

Sone Aluko and Abdul Ajagun are far better options than Tega Etebor but I don't know why the coach kept calling when their are better options.

We are talking about the game against Spain, not the entire group stage. Maybe you may want to dig up who created the highest number of chances in that Nig-Esp game and you won't know what to say again. Let me go and dig up the stat

https://www.soccerpunter.com/soccer-statistics/World/Confederations-Cup-2013-Brazil/match/1286869_Nigeria_vs_Spain

read this report. Like I said, the Spanish team could have won by more than 3 goals although we should have scored once but saying that we would have won even if it was Ronaldo that we had upfront is simply wrong. Also saying that Mikel dominated when we can all see that the Spanish team dominated the game is also very wrong, thanks to Mikel though the game looked slightly more balanced unlike the other games the spanish team played

Just in case you have forgotten, Mikel's highlights against spain

It may seem this way, but can this guys compete with their European counterparts? Their award was their only chance.

mikel ought to have scored in the first half instead of trying to displace a spanish player when he got a return pass, that would have changed the dynamics of that game. One of the best performances of mikel for the eagles

There is nothing in those stats that justify a 3:0 win. 6 to 4 shots on target??

Spain did not dominate, far from it

Some of the reaction of football fans after the game.

6-4, then they had a clear chance which hit the bar so make that 7. Meanwhile one of our own shots on target was a plain old strike from one midfielder like that, so much for that.

Now back to Mikel, Nigeria didnt dominate the game, then how did Mikel dominate the midfield? I mean go and watch Pirlo against England and see what 'dominating a game' truly means

There are some people that dont shift grounds becuase of their strong conviction on matters based on verifiable facts, I dont play to the gallery. Moses has never been a fantastic player even when he got loaned over and over again to different clubs ,all to no avail. I have hammered on this guy for sometime now and everything I have pointed out in him can be reckoned. Moses has finished developing , he is not an 18 years old. At Chelsea he plays with caution but whenever he plays for Nigeria he throws caution to the wind and do what ever that comes to his mind to the detriment of the team and that to me is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Dont make this look like Moses was one of the best players in EPL last season because he is not up there. Dude is just a notch up ahead Moses Simon because of goals. He has been dribbling in the EPL for years but he has not gotten anywhere with it. Some people even said he is our best player, now that set off the rage in me.

well you can have your opinions on moses, but the dude has paid his dues both for country and club. He's won trophies that he was very instrumental to. Not every great player out there has won individual awards but their quality and class are never in doubt. Sometimes we over criticized our players. Same thing we did with mikel until recently when majority started having a rethink.

As long as player produces results for the team, he is class and quality and Moses is in this category

eh that is something me I don't understand either. You know the UEFA best player is only for the best player in Europe? So why can't the CAF best player be for any player based in Africa?

No, no longer a very good side not even in Asia.

North Korea and Japan remain the 2 major forces in Asia, then south Korea before china, Thailand et.c

Coming to the world stage, they are very low down the pecking order. (Comparing the last 2-4 years). Check their stats to confirm my stands.

Their league is good but not their national team (I mean being ranked among the first 10 in the world.currently 16th and 4th in Asia

Bros forgiveness, the bitter truth is this, Aluko, Ajagun and Lawal are not in Rohrs plans at all. The players he is currently considering to give a look in terms of addition are Akpoguma (defence) and Joel Obi (attack/dfm).

Makes sense...

I think "fast and reckless" cost us the game against Spain in 2013 Confeds. The scoreline didn't do justice to our performance in that game.

an onazi in the game against spain would have been a different story in the 2013 confed as France had to injure onazi before breaking through in the 2014 world cup

I dont think midfield was our problem in that game. It was attack.

Not many are aware that the Eagles exposed the weakness of the tiki taka game of the Spaniards from that day, a nigerian sports analyst on radio predicted just before the game that the tiki taka from spain will not dominate the eagles, look like he was speaking Greek until the game started.

one new player to watch out for, coming from the NNL is Micheal Ohanu, he scored a couple of hattricks last season and he is NNL player of the season (officially, he has an award to that effect) and he was the highest goal scorer with 22 goals.
he plays for kwara united

Another player from the NNL now in the NPFL is TOSIN OMOYELE he is now with Plateau united and he came in from Osun united, he hit double digits for the omoluabi giants I think he had 15 goals all season . he is actually easy to identify as he is almost an albino, but not fully his hair is not black and not fully blonde.

I will post the pictures of the 2 players if I lay my hands on them

I disagree actually, anyone who watches Chelsea knows willian is the least productive attactking threat. Moses plays as a wing back, imo Moses can be a better attacking threat than willian if played in a attacking position.

I've seen Moses in attacking positions right from his days at wigan. And when he had few games to play under Banitez, we didn't really see goals Sam much as we'd have wanted same with all the sides he's been on loan to.

Willian may not have those crazy goal numbers but with what we've seen with Moses, the WB role fits him just fine at Chelsea.
