I would recommend you run from that car if it has a valve leak and transmission problem. Its not an easy fix |

Hi Engineers, i'm planning to get a 2005 or 2006 Infiniti M45 Anything wrong with this choice? - Motorways - GAZZUZZ - Costee - NgcoboP - chukel - Nissparts - Autologic Thanks for your contributions |
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by Nobody: 9:09pm On Dec 30, 2017 |
johnwell:You have my full support, ceteris paribus (lol). But the choice of years is somewhat misleading. The model series Y34 starts from July 2002 and ends December 2004. It is followed by the Y50 which starts from Dec 2004 and ends January 2010. Although the Y50 production years start from December 2004 the first model year ending mid 2006 is actually described as 2006 model. In other words there is no 2005 model. There is no 2005 model either for the Y34, ending effectively as 2004 model in December 2004. For the Y50 there is M35/M45; and only M45 for Y34. So my question is, which are you going for? You could post the pic of your prospective choice and that will be clarified. Still, you have my support for either. The Y50 of course has more luxurious features. 1 Like |

Costee, diportivo, nurey, gazzuzzI need assistance. I'm getting codes P1610 and P1612. Car cannot start. Immobilizer no longer recognises key as one registered to it. I know I need to reprogram the key. Any cheap scanner that can do this work? 2002 infiniti Qx4 |
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by nurey(m): 4:58pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
chukel: This code is usually triggered when a not registered or damaged key is used to start the engine. When the starting operation is carried out five or more times consecutively with the same unregistered key, the system will lock. If the problem occurs try disconnecting the car battery for about 30 minutes and then try starting the engine with a known registered key. If the problem persists you have to have the dealer erase the code and reprogram the keys again. If problem persists after disconnecting the car battery, try the following: ESCAPE FROM LOCK MODE 1. Turn ignition switch OFF. 2. Turn ignition switch ON with registered key. (Do not start engine.) Wait 5 seconds. 3. Return the key to OFF position. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 twice (total of three cycles). 5. Start the engine. For the p1612, faulty ecm or immu, my guess is on the immobilizer since you were able to pull codes. If all doesn't work, reprogram key and have immo and ignition checked |
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by Nobody: 5:40pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
chukel:Seems you don't have a spare. Anyway, you might need to go beyond just programming the key. The immobilizer control unit seems to be the culprit here. It's fastened to the ignition barrel. (Check to be sure it's not shifted position.) Here's the one for your QX4. A CK-100 key programmer should do just fine.

nurey:thanks. Did all that, nothing. |
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by chukel(m): 5:55pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
Costee:thanks a lot. Will check. No, I don't have a spare. I'm about getting a Nissan data scan II software and cable. From review, it can do all things consult II can do. I will still check the CK-100 key programmer. |
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by Nobody: 6:07pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
chukel:Nissan Data Scan is often limited in its range of coverage. I very much doubt if the QX4, for example, is supported. |
