emmanuelewumi: I agree with you. However the treat is still there. Most kids now are gadget freaks. Once you give a 2 to 3 year old kid a phone, they are already sliding it upwards or sideways to open it. They are already opening games. They know what looks appealing to them and they touch to click. They are wired like that nowadays. A time will come when they will not want to carry books. They will just want to read e-copies of every book. The time is drawing nearer. |

RabbiDoracle: I'd like to think that scenerio no 1 is the most probable reason especially because the price increment of the said stock was a one off situation and so might not be enough to draw up a clear inference. Scenerio no 2 will only likely be the case if the said stock rises more in price over the next few trading days following from a complimentary increase in supply. In all I'd like to believe that the supply chain would usually determine the behaviour of price movements, and would also precede it. |

sky2891:...bulls are in charge of daily, weekly and monthly chart. Yesterday, bears dominated and if allowed, could possibly drop the price down to test previous support at around 1.63. Or could create a new support above 1.63

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 4:58pm On Jan 06, 2018 |
currentprice: Based on the numbers, UPL is a better bargain than Cutix. However Cutix will give a surprise in this YE. Highly surpassing their 2017 YE |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 5:02pm On Jan 06, 2018 |
currentprice: Yes I love CUTIX, but I love UPL even more. ...If they were both women and I had the option to choose, i'll marry UPL and make CUTIX my 1st concubine. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by wanaj0: 5:08pm On Jan 06, 2018 |
RabbiDoracle: They are suppliers to government. The money is in school textbooks. Guaranteed income stream. UPL is recovering from some bad performance. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 5:10pm On Jan 06, 2018 |
onegentleguy: I agree with you and CP. Reason is this. Based on Ben Graham net of net: Get the value of (Current assets - Total liabilities)/ outstanding shares Assume it is X. Then let your buying price be Y= 2X/3 If you do this, you will get N2.05 or so. So those who bought at this price and also what pa Emma bought did so at a bargain. Why? Because your calculation was based on current assets and total liabilities. How about the fixed assets. They are just free! You are buying based on that price while You excluded the fixed assets. 3 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 5:20pm On Jan 06, 2018 |
RabbiDoracle: The truth is that CUTIX is great. ...but for anything they operate in a segment with huge prospect. Except for the competition from accrued product import, this coy is doing great. My only worry is with the level of cooperate governance. ...Yes we don't get to see a lot of it especially in this investment clime, but I'll be concerned a bit more with cutix. ...I prefer to be cautiously optimistic when a Nigeria coy is tended towards a 'one man show'. From what I know, cutix is more or less a family biz. ...and I have less trust for those Nnewi guys. Btw, this does not mean that one might not reap gains from it. ...we all can, but caution should be our watchword. |

@Emma Are you planning to hold for just 6 months or for long term. I'm going for my rights as well, although didn't explore buying additional rights before now. emmanuelewumi: |

onegentleguy: I will advise you just put small money there. Same with UPL. They are illiquid. Selling is always a problem. |

selade: If the facility flies, I will buy about 330000 units of rights on the floor. Sell about 200000 units between 4 to 6 months time to liquidate my debts. I will keep about 120000 units plus my initial holdings prior to the right offer. |

RabbiDoracle: Some bad quarters led to poor results hence poor dividends. They had to do some restructuring. Need to check Dr Lekan Are's shareholding. Quite an illiquid stock. Learn Africa is also not doing badly. |

I am beginning to doubt if dow jones will survive this year without a crash |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Cadillac15(m): 9:33pm On Jan 06, 2018 |
Agbalowomeri: The first guy that predicted the 2008 crash has said that the danger is around the corner again. Back then, he made millions of usd betting that the American market was about to crash. He stated that BTOs will be the cause of the crash this time. Back then, the cause was CDOs. I'm afraid he might be right again when you factor in the speculation in BTC and cryptos + the creation of BTC futures trading. |
