Arugo monkey one of the best keeper in the Nigeria league, watch him when he was with heartland and enyimba, I think he had disciplinary issues.

Yes you are very right... Back then in Berger. One of his bad part...
they used to pay him well though... Very good at stopping penalty kick...

Stop saving face with all this jaguns and face the music.

Did you think I called you a babbler for nothing without having facts to prove it?

With all the substantial evidence against you, you think you can be exonerated from having a thought of being superior to that particular tribe?

I repeat if you think Kayode is my brother because he is YORUBA and you think you are superior to that particular tribe, you are an ignoramus.

I said this and I am saying itit again that your superiority mentality is concomitant to ignorance.

To save the reputation of 'your people' means what?

Who are 'your people' in this context?

Oh! You have given the answer below.

Which tribe is synonymous with eating gbegiri?

Your superiority mentality knows no bound.

So, the derogatory word against the gbegiri boys means what?

You must be clever by half with all those insubstantial jaguns to wrote up there.

Girl, use your brain before you start uttering words else ...

Oga forgiveness... I'm really shocked You are losing your temper..remember you always said you are Christian..please be patience .. Please, Biko, Ejoor... Take It easy... This is new Year o!

Success keeps away the critics. Rohr has been successful thus far. It has nothing to do with local or foreign. Rohr has faced several criticisms on this page but he is succeeding so the praises are higher.

Oliseh deserved some of the criticism.. His team selection and some of the results were poor. He failed his CHAN test and posted poor results against average sides. He fought with senior players and forced their retirement.

success is not measured on the short term. We have qualified for 6 of the last 7 WCs, even Amodu did it twice, although we did it relatively easier than we normally did, it still isn't exactly something extraordinary. Going into that last WC, Bosnia won their group without dropping a single point but Keshi's team defeated them and matched Argentina and France, that is success, considerable success

It's not where you have been but where you are going.

Going to Bristol is in my opinion as things stand a very good move.

A good Move in what Sense pls?! Like Lee Johnson is a better Manager than Claude Puel?! Or basically to earn playing Time?!

Iheanacho is a rare Talent. He's supposed to be classed along with Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Rashford, Asensio and Co.

I do not buy Nigeria Factor Issh, rather expecting him to buckle up and start competing on a bigger Stage. It won't be bad if he's rumored moving to Madrid or Barcelona in my Opinion.

bless you sir...you're very knowledgeable.
I like the way you put your words...
nancho performance for the super eagles still the edge he has over other players...
even the 3 lions don't refuse players like that....
as long as a player keep performing for the super eagles...he still merit an invitation.

players too just like teams do have rough parts...so the best to do for any outstanding player during this period is not to drop being that keeps performing whenever he is called upon is to stand by him...by letting him know you still believe in his abilities.

Tell me one England international player who has been relegated to the U23's is struggling to make the bench is having almost zero playing time that is still relevant to the England national team please

Unless you are given the opportunity to perform how will anybody know what you can do.

When Torres moved from Liverpool to Chelsea for £50 million. He was already off the boil, however Spain still kept sentimental faith with him. They took him to the World cup in 2010 and he was abysmal.

We may want to remain optimistic however, you need to be playing to keep your sharpness more so as striker. There are situations when a player is not getting on with manager, clash of personalities, disputes, etc. But that's not KC's situation.

Moving to a Championship club will.help to prove his pedigree and improve him as a player.

Look at the guys who displaced KC at City Raheem, Gabriel and Sane they all have one outstanding attribute blistering pace. KC is not slow but he us not on that level.

Then look at what these guys were doing as teenagers playing as fully fledged outstanding senior players. I remember when as short as Raheem was, he was leading the front line for Liverpool.

I think KC is an excellent player but he is not on the level of Mbappe, Dembele, Asensio. Possibly on the same level as Rashford, but not anymore.

When did EPL become popular and easily accessible by Nigerians?
When did other leagues also find their way into our system?
Before then, were Nigerians not going to stadiums to watch matches?

When you answer these questions, I will then go further with figures and if possible pictures of league matches before the easy access to foreign leagues.
OMANBALA1:

Bros, you are yet to prove that people stopped watching Nigerian league due to European league.

Fans live in the present. Rohr can only achieve the goals placed before him. He can not play the WC before it is time.

We had qualified for the second round before 2014. We have matched Argentina, Spain and Italy in the WC . A groundbreaking achievement would be a quarterfinal position.

Keshi was praised when he was succeeding. He gradually lost fans when the results became unfavorable.

Rohr is achieving success now so Fans are correct to get behind him.

Hull, ‘Roommate’ Balogun Celebrate Aina’s First Pro Goal

By James Agberebi : Championship club Hull City and Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun have congratulated Ola Aina after he scored his first ever senior goal in a 1-0 away win against League One side Blackburn Rovers in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.

Aina, who is on loan to Hull from Premier League champions Chelsea, opened his goals account for the Championship side when he scored on 58 minutes to send them into round four of the FA Cup.

It was a much needed win for Hull who have gone five straight games without a win.
Reacting to Aina’s first goal for the club, Hull wrote on their verified Twitter handle: “We think Ola rather enjoyed that! Congratulations on your first goal for the Tigers.”

Fellow Nigeria international Balogun wrote: “That’s my room mate, well done bro and congrats.”

Argentina Coach Sampaoli Has Cause To Worry As Dybala Faces Injury Setback

By Adeboye Amosu : Argentina coach, Jorge Sampaoli, faces an anxious time as he awaits news on the injury picked up by one of his key stars, Paulo Dybala while in action for Italian club Juventus in a Serie A clash with Cagliari on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

Dybala picked up the injury in the second half of Juventus’ 1-0 away win and left the field in tears clutching his hamstring, although the fact that he walked off the field without the aid of a stretcher will be encouraging to the coach.

The 24-year-old will now be sent for tests to determine the extent of the injury and how long he will be out of action.

Sampaoli, like Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, will hope the injury will not rule him out for a long time, and most importantly , will not cause him to miss the 2018 World Cup where the Albiceleste will come up against Nigeria, Croatia and Iceland in the group stage
“We don’t know how bad it is now, but he will have tests,” Juventus coach Allegri told Mediaset Premium after the game.

“Fortunately we go into a two-week break now and he’ll evidently need to rest more than the others during that time, so hopefully he will be fresh for the final weeks of the season.”

Meanwhile, the former Palermo forward is upbeat he will soon be back in action following the injury setback.

“An important triumph. Thank you all for the support messages, I will be back soon and stronger!,” Dybala wrote on his Twitter handle.

A very important win tonight! Thank you for your support and your messages, I’ll be back soon.”

The player who was also eligible to represent Poland made his debut for Argentina in September 2015 and has already had 12 caps for his country.

Though you did speak the Truth, but I still believe Kelechi has it in him! He needs to know where he's good at! Kelechi is not a Striker, he's a supporting Striker, he can also play as a No. 10.

The Kelechi I watched at the U-17 Tourney could easily be classed with Mbappe and Co. He lost it at Man City, coz Pep thought he's gonna be an outstanding Striker based on his Goal Technique.

Sir, I can compare Kelechi with Morata. Morata ain't a complete Striker, rather a supporting Striker. If you wanna see his Best, play him as a second Striker or on the Wing.

Griezmann, Dybala and Co are like Kelechi, they excel when they play deep! Play Kelechi as a second Striker, and you gonna rediscover a new Gem. He can shoot and score from outside the Box. He gets good Vision to make decisive Passes. Trust me Bro...... kelechi can still live up to his Potentials, if he could sort out his preferred Position.

One of the Reasons Ox left Arsenal is because he sees himself as a CM or AMF rather than a WB. Pogba does play superbly as an AM or LMF, but plays awfully as a DM.

I maintain my Stance on KC, he's not late for him to be running like a Coward, rather he should rediscover himself!

Do not use youth football as the basis to determine players progression. It's at best indicative and not conclusive.

The difference between youth football and senior is huge. I know so players have Olson youth cups with top EPL clubs playing non league football within a 2/3 years. Chuba Akpom is one that comes to mind a complete baller at youth level but couldn't make the transition to first team.

In football you really need to be versatile and adaptable to create opportunity and value for yourself.

Ashley young started as forward player he is now left back for Manchester United. No team will change for you you must change and adapt your game for your team.

If Mahrez leaves Leicester then there may be some room for KC. Otherwise his best option is a loan move to the championship. The reality is that KC rating has gone down, no top club will be looking at him currently.

It is on Nairaland, vanguard news comment section, etc. You would have to be a first time visitor here not to recognize that... same way 'aboki' means friend but it is often used as a derogatory term for 'Northerners.'
Beneath all the joking and smileys here (on nairaland) there is a lot of anger, hurt, bitterness, hate, etc (which is kind of understandable) so it is important for us to be careful with our words.
That being said, this is a sports thread so let's try to keep it that way. Sports can make people passionate and in the heat of the momment we may say things we do not mean or misunderstand what others say, once we calm down we should learn to iron out our differences.
