If Iheanacho's brain is functioning well, he would tell his agent to find him a club, anyone at all. The contract should include that they must play him for a certain period of time, he should be willing to slash his pay, but playing time must be part of his contract.....this is if his brain is functioning well, of course 6 Likes |

forgiveness: The last time I posted a data comparing 6 players that can play Mikel's role, someone rubbish the report eventhough the data was gotten from an independent source. Behold, it is what they used up there to evaluate the performance of a Player. Iwobi style of play is one two touch. He can't play like Mikel though he brings another flavour to the team. I watched him played yesterday and I can see he played the deep attacking midfield role but he could not influence the game neither did he create any chance. I think he is better a SS and somehow a big game player. However, I fear for our team if Mikel is not available for a game during the WC. Who will play his role effectively? I know people will call for my head if I suggest Raheem Lawal hence the need to look Josh Onomah's way. I think Josh Onomah should be given the chance to prove himself. 3 Likes |

krattoss: I know your intent with the bolded. You're obviously not interested in any suggestion, your question is an elaborate ambush to lure me into naming a replacement for Iwobi which will cause an unnecessary player comparison. I won't bite that bait, sorry to disappoint you. One thing should be very clear though, a country of 200 million mad soccer fanatics should be producing world class players frequently. The talents coming through the production lines should be so much that non performing players will be replaced without so much drop in quality. If we can't boast of at least 15 performing world class players with our population, we should bury our heads in shame. I hope you're in the clear now? 1 Like |

ChrisKels: My brother, image small Guinea of 10 million people producing a $70M player while a country of 200 million mad soccer fans have yet to produce someone half that price. We are not doing something right obviously. This Naby Keita guy got his football education in Guinea oh (!). He was not produced in diaspora. Anyway, I don't think this is the real valuation of Ndidi but it is a big positive. 4 Likes |

People banging on about club form lose sight of the fact that the status of the club a player plays for and/or his stats in a season do not correlate with his national team form. For instance, Miroslav Klose was an absolute beast for Germany at 5 or 6 major tournaments. He even ended up being the record World Cup goal scorer of all time. However, I don’t think he ever scored up to 20 goals in a season. He never even showed up amongst the nominees for the Balon D’Or, or Bundesliga player of the season, let alone FIFA World Player of the Year. Moreover, Julius Aghahowa is another example. The highest rated club this guy ever played for was Shakhtar Donetsk! But he he kept on scoring crucial goals for the Super Eagles. So, other factors clearly come into play (coach’s tactics etc) when judging whether a player is suitable for the national team. 2 Likes |

goldfish80: Population alone doesn't guarantee production of world class players if not china or India would be ruling the soccer world. Yes we have talented players everywhere in the country a dime a dozen but like every sector in Nigeria we don't yet have the necessary structure, personnel and expertise to harness such talent and if we are waiting for oyinbo to selflessly develop your players for you then sorry you are on a long tin. 4 Likes |

goldfish80: Ndidi is also a home grown youth exponent of our U17s program. Is population really a determinant factor for talent production? I avnt come across a thesis that "ceteris Paribas, the population of a geographical location is directly proportional to the quality and number of football talents churned out by that particular place, with constant mad soccer fans though BTW why do you doubt that, that's Ndidi's right worth? 2 Likes |

chrisooblog: Netherlands had solid structures on ground and they unsurprisingly produced worldies. Your country have barely anything on ground. George weah was a one-off. Liberia were too busy killing themselves in the bush when Weah emerged. It is wrong to bring him up in the Nigerian context. |

Bia, ChrisKels listen to me very well because I am NOT gonna say this again. You think that everyone has the time to literally live on this forum like yourself? News flash, some of us actually have gainful employments and don't have the time to come on here following every single post. Got it?? One glance at your posts and it is crystal clear that as human beings evolved some apes and some members of our species have yet to make a complete transition. You're the epitome of ignorance, the embodiment of idiocy, and allergic to logic. I think you're suffering from an Alarming Inability to Dialogue Sensibly (AIDS), and lacks the intellectual capacity to engage in a rational debate. Your presence here do nothing but drag this site down. One look at his threads and it fuels the racist notion that Africans are dumb, Aids-infested baboons who have just climbed down from tree tops and lack the capacity to dialogue intelligently. My friend, you're a complete embarrassment to the Black race and we really need to find a way to get rid of you. Even when I was four years old, my written English was more coherent than your incoherent ranting. Your presence tarnishes this site, pollutes what is a meeting of mature minds and obtusely destroys any constructive dialogue taking place. You resort to destructive negativity just because you do not have the intellectual capacity to follow the debate and foul the atmosphere with your intrusive, disgusting, fetid, gross, loathsome, noisome, offensive, putrid and repellant incoherent rants. Your disoriented, irrational, disordered, muddled and inchoate mind runs riot on this site polluting, corrupting, debasing, defiling and soiling any sensible debate we are trying to have. Please leave us alone, you are a total liability. If the quality of discussion here is above your IQ level, which I doubt to be above 55, please go elsewhere. There are a lot of websites for the intellectually challenged where I am sure you will feel more at home. O pari ChrisKels: |

goldfish80: If a player is improving on the pitch for his club that improvement will all things being equal be transferred to the national team. In that regard it is beneficial to the national team for players to improve. If a player is losing competitive edge in his club it is not beneficial to the national team. When players realise that thier club performance can impact negatively on thier national team selection. They will not take call up for granted. The pool of talent that Nigeria is looking at is too small. Most team's with realistic World cup ambitions will test and select from at least 50 players. I am suprised at your statement considering your indepth knowledge, that you have dismissed objective performance data as being biased. Then you further bring nationality into it Arsenal has always been a multi national team and I am certain nationality has nothing to do with it. We should all be worried and not dismissive of objective based performance data or we will all be in for a rude awakening. One thing we lack competition for places some players have no competition in the SE for thier position it seems. And feel come rain come shine they are going to Russia. |
