Morning to the bosses in the house, please i need clarification on this. In Nigeria Education system, 2 semesters makes a section. On my i20 I have '' estimated average costs for 9 months'', which means I have 9 months to complete the first year. Does that mean 3 semesters (spring, summer, fall) makes a section? I asked a current student the question, he never gave me a satisfactory answer. Twoods Lagosismyhome Bigfrancis21 And others 2 Likes |

princekuli: Depending on the number of courses that make up the graduating unit . In most programs spring and fall make one year and summer is holiday . In some programs due to the total unit needed to graduate then 3 semesters make 1 year So while most degree might be 2 semesters some are 3 so the program coordinator is the best person to advice |

Please I really need you guys assistance here especially the VOs and people with experience. I want to study abroad, precisely USA (New Jersey) because I have a sister over there although she has not gotten her paper. I want to study nursing and I have two kids, planning to travel with them including my house help because she is like my own daughter and I promised to take care of her till her university ( she is writing weac this year). Please I want to know how possible is going to be1. considering my kids and house help2. If any idea how much is involve for admission into school of nursing and their requirements ( I prefer local/public colleges)3. The best way to achieve my aims this year.I have gotten my int'l passport, my two kids, house help and hubby's own although hubby is not traveling with us due to his commitment (biz) here in Nigeria. In other hand my sister advised me to use visitors visa to come over first from there I can look for admission and change my visitors visa to student visa because it is more cheaper to gain admission over there than from Nigeria. Please help a sister, even your suggestions on how to go about it will be appreciated. Hello everyone, i'm new here so i apologize if i have not posted rightly or something. I gained admission for my masters program to study in the us but my i20 came really late, like 5days ago. I'm supposed to be in the US by latest 24th. filled my DS-160 form and paid my visa interview fee but i didn't get any date before the 24th and while i was waiting for this to change i didnt see 24th anymore but 25th which i picked. The problem now is i dont know what to do? is there any possibility that i will be given visa if i go for the interview on the 25th? I tried rescheduling but the site wrote in bold letters that if i try again i will lose my visa fee? Please guys i really need help. I'm sorry if my write up isn't well put together, m really nervous. |

Derazira: I hope this sister of yours really loves you. Her advice is not going to help you. Your intent seems that of potential immigrants. Getting visa with this story might be difficult. You can go alone if you really want to study. 1 Like 1 Share |

Derazira: Your sister advice is not a good one...if your intention is to school then why will she advice you to go on visitor visa . BEST to go as an F1..how is it cheaper to gain admission from the Us ....stories ... Also there no category if you go as a student to cover your househelp. She doesn't quality as a dependant 2 Likes |

Derazira: You're actually talking about tourism visa with the intention to overstay. With all these, any VO that sees you will gloriously show you the other way out of the embassy. Derazira: As much as she's right that what you're looking for is tourism visa and to overstay, saying you can switch visa like that is blatant lies. If you want to change visa, you're still required to go out of U.S to apply for a student visa in Nigeria. And with your maid, the story don't just sound right. 2 Likes |

Derazira: Even your sister giving you advice is an illegal immigrant, hiding from the police. 1. Your househelp isn’t going anywhere. 2. You likely will be refused a visa, save your money. 6 Likes |

Fwesh101: That is not the way to go. You should first understand what the exam entails, then figure out what materials you really need. You may be fine with the little already available for free online. |

fromree: I think there is an opportunity to get an emergency date for people like you. Perhaps someone here can help you out? If you go for your interview on the 25th, you will be refused, no question. |

gurus don't you guys feel their is a nexus between the derogatory comments of president Trump and the high spate of delays at the embassy and consulate of late .... I know oga twood will defer but as a student of politics I can sense a major shake up in United States immigration policies vis-a- visa visa policies |

Well, he campaigned vigorously on that! To build the wall and tighten immigration rules. I'm not surprised as he is only fulfilling his campaign promise. jamoyakz: |

Nwabu007:yes he did but some of his comments aren't presidential... well its a new Era in visa regime my only concern is if it doesn't affect genuine applicants seeking visas most expecially F and J classes cause the interviews are very subjective |

jamoyakz:nothing has changed in US immigration law, the reason why there are so many delays is due to the fact that the number of persons attempting to abuse the F1 visa has increased probably due to harsh economic conditions in Nigeria 4 Likes 1 Share |
