You just want to burst this my bubble sha. When you made your payment, was it only at one point before submission that it asked you to pay for both? Cos I thought that since we have the option to pay RPRF later, then the payments can be collected at 2 different times before submission. I intend to pay for both fees before i submit but this card ish is my concern.
Sorry at the bolded, lol. While filling out the forms, it shows you a place where you select if you will pay only the application fees or both fees. So I opted for both fees. After all the uploads, payment is the very last thing, so it shows you how much you are to pay based on your previous selection.
If you selected only application fees, it shows you the amount. You pay and your application has been submitted..
I heard access bank has increased the dollar limit to $5,000. I don't know how true that is. Or look for a dollar card you can fund and use.

Dear Nairaland family,
Silent reader in the house, I just thought to share my story as I have been so inspired by the posts on this forum. My Canadian journey started in 2015 when I wanted to further my education, 3 times my study permit was declined because of the most ridiculous reasons. I started pursing express entry actively in 2016, wrote IELTS 4 times, has great scores but my writing kept reading 6.5. After my 4th attempt, I requested for a remark in which my writing score was reviewed to a 7, with that, I was able to secure ITA.
Below is my timeline
ITA 7th August
AOR 24th August
Medicals passed 3rd September
IP 1 3rd September
Na2. 9th September
Adr 6th December
Ip2 6th December
Adr submitted 14th December
PPR 12th January.
Family of 4.

My application was not perfect but God covered it, I used a fixed deposit and I applied as a business owner (partnership to be precise). I had to show proof of business with proof of work done, receipts, pictures and written notes from clients, I turned in our company account bank statement as well. The Adr was for me to provide tax clearance certificates for the companies. This is just to say, self employed have no issues with express entry as long as you can prove the legitimacy of your business.
It's been a long and excruciating journey but God gave me the grace to sail through with losing my elements, I am extremely grateful to the Almighty God.
Never give up on your dreams, with God all things are possible and he makes all things beautiful in his time. Thank you all for the information freely shared on this forum, may God reward you all with your hearts desire.
congrats!!!!

(Hello Boldinic, thanks for this information. I need a little clarification on this. I am the PA, but plan to use a letter from hubby's cooperative as part of our POF. Is this allowed)

Hi DadR... The letter was very plain and simple. It just stated that she was a member of the society and also the exact amount of money she had... That's all.

Only the letter was submitted along side her personal statement of account which did not have much... no statement of deposit to cooperative was submitted.

They were not contacted by IRCC to the best of knowledge...

Hope this helps.

Hello guys. My speaking test is on Monday. I would be going to work after the test and I will have to go to the test centre with my properties which consists of a laptop and personal stuffs in a bag after which I will proceed to my office after the exams.

I am trying to know if British Council makes provisions for keeping a property like a laptop bag ?

Please advise all.

Some banks now allow $2000 within a month, I think the like of Access, Stanbic and fcmb you can try them out also

Are there other senior staff besides your mum? e.g... a HR or Personnel officer or Manager? If there is then any one of these could sign off on your work reference letter.

Thanks for your response. I'm faced with E the same problem cos I work in my family company managed by my uncle. It's not such a big business with HR dept and all. It's us the family members(same surnames) that are the main staff of the business.

It shouldn't be an issue. I don't think there is any law that says it is a crime to work in a family company and the person who issues you reference must not be related to you. What is most important is that the company exists and your role there can be verified.

What if your father is Dangote and the HR manager is your elder brother who is Dangote's first son, will it make your work experience in the company invalid? After all you have a degree, passed IELTS. If you ask me, I don't see any problem but let's wait on seniors in the house to put mouth on it.

What is his highest level of education? And can he retake IELTS? If no, then you guys might have to consider the PNP route. Cos that score even with a PHD might not give you guys much in terms of CRS score. Try using the CRS tool to simulate what scores you both have individually based on your profiles. That should give you an idea on who the PA should be.

thanks for your reply,i am 28 yrs old and he is 30 however he scored lrws 6.5,7,7,6.5, he has more work experience

You should be happy that WES decided to waive verification in your case. Perhaps your transcript hit them as authentic enough to quell all doubt. I think its a positive development. Nothing to be afraid of in my opinion. I wish you further good luck.
