goldfish80: That is different than trying to sell Puel as a man who Puel's reign like Mancini in Inter Milan. I abhor his negative style and I celebrate his offensive approach and clever build up play yesterday. The coaches made it seem as if Leicester City lacked the quality to attack. My assessment was proven right yesterday that Leicester City can do it with the talents they have. Even if your trying to twist the real point and notion. |

darkelf: Some people count results with negative approach as excellence. Not me. I praise bravery and offensive approach especially when you have the players to achieve it. I do not and will not praise a system that relies on a negative system when they have the materials to play in a more offensive fashion. That is why I did not hesitate to praise Puel yesterday because he showed that the Leicester City team can attack even a formidable opponent. On that index, I can not tag Puel as excellent for Leicester City so far. However he has done well steering them from relegation. |

goldfish80: I do not claim. I make my points and I also encourage positively. That is the big difference. When Mikel Agu came in and had a poor first half, some criticised his poor performance but I pointed out that Mikel Agu's mistake was committing instead of shielding the defence line. In the second half he shielded the defence and committed less. Had a far better second half. So to you, you can write Ndidi has poor pass completion rate. Me, I will look at the system and suggest a way to improve the pass completion rate. That is why watching Ndidi, I could see he could do more while you could only see poor pass completion. Gerrit? |

TheGoodJoe: I am not twisting anything. Your submissions earlier about Puel on this thread at least is well documented. You tagged his style negative, even when they have played some good games the few times I've watched them. A highly skilled and technical player like Mahrez is thriving in a negative system. What a paradox 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: In other words, Ndidi have been playing in a negative system all his career. Genk, Leicester City and Super Eagles play negative football. Have it ever occurred to you that Ndidi could have been poor at ball handling because he started out as a Centre back? Going by history, it will take a lot of of hard work and consistency to see him polish his ball handling. This is exactly Puel's submission in the recent interview. |

ChrisKels: Thanks It will be great news if both boys commit to Nigeria. Uduokhai sounded non-commital in his interview but it is possible, he was being diplomatic. Rohr did say in one interview that a german youth international had committed to Nigeria. I remember, we had a discussion on who it could possibly be. Uduokhai will be a massive catch. If Balogun is not back to his best by WC time, i would not mind drafting him in. He can also play left back. |

goldfish80: Puel was sacked by the board of Southampton for being negative. He has been negative. Yesterday he played in a more brave fashion and I commended him. So what is your problem? |

goldfish80: I made my statement in September last year, you are talking four days ago. It shows that I was correct pointing out that in a more offensive system, Ndidi could perform. I wonder why it is biting you? Calling Super Eagles, Genk, etc is long story. The point is, Ndidi can perform in an offensive system. Finito. |

away from puel shenanigans. . iwobi starts for arsenal against bouremouth today... Am gonna focus on iwobi extensively today.. But permit me to digreess...looking at arsenals line-up and sub today, has Wenger improved arsenal or has he turned arsenal to average team.. all I see in today's line up 're bunch of averages with a couple of amateurs in the team's match day squad. . why is it hard for this man to bring out money and buy players..he keeps claiming an economist but look at arsenal that was once a force to reckon, is now a team full of small children.. the thing is paining me because I love arsenal with my heart.. not that the money isn't there, but this old self acclaimed economist has made arsenal a stagnant team after the days of Henry's cum vierra. . and the funniest of it all is the he got the safest job in the planet.. I don't know whether it is his turnovers profits that is keeping him at arsenal or he is using some kind of juju. just take a look at kids in today's line up and tell me what y'all thinks... 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by goldfish80(m): 2:35pm On Jan 14, 2018 |
TheGoodJoe:Southampton made a weird decision to sack him. A decision that could see them pay with relegation. Your description of Puel's tactics as negative doesn't hold water because Leicester city have seen an upward trajectory of their team, going from Premiership strugglers toa comfortable 8th on the table in just 3 months. Technical players like Gray and Mahrez have improved while dependable players like Ndidi and Harry Macquire have become better. What else do you ask for a managse if not to steady the ship like he's done? |
