This is the time to probably increase your position size in UBA and Access Bank. It is going to be a bang very soon. Ensure you do your DD too. There is actually a strong interest by investors in Access Bank. It has done more volume than FBNH and UBA and has equally received more cash inflow than both banks in the last 6 trading days. The sell pressure has just been huge. Profit taking might start tomorrow. Traders are likely not going to be patient until Friday. |

emmanuelewumi: This reminds me of a true life story told to me by a stockbroker with Midas Stockbrokers about the not- too-educated father of a secondary school classmate of his. According to him, this father of his friend worked for 35 years with Nigeria Railway Corporation, and while in service NRC had this policy of automatically deducting some percentage of her employees' salaries to buy them shares as a supportive retirement plan. At the point of retirement they were all handed their share certificates. His friend's father laminated his, relocated to his village, hanged them on the walls of the the sitting room of the half completed house he managed to build in his village from his savings, and told whoever visited him that those were the national awards of honour given him by NRC for diligent service and unblemished record throughout his 35 years in service. The total number of share certificates exceeded 20 and included some of the current bluest chips. The news of his "achievement" saturated the village so much that he ( the Midas Stockbroker) had to schedule a journey home to see what these awards really were and then congratulate his friend's dad accordingly. But on arrival home he discovered that they were all share certificates whose total valuation at the prevailing market price ran into several millions yet the man was living in an uncompleted house. He had to explain to the man that what he laminated and hanged in his sitting room were not national awards but millions of Naira. Then he asked the old man to remove all of them and follow him to Lagos where he helped him dematerialize some, sold them and handed him the proceeds to go and complete his house and enjoy the fruits of the sacrifice he made unawares. The man was dumbfounded. 4 Likes |

Crypto investors beware: the government is starting to crack down on fraudulent Bitcoin schemes. On January 6, USI-Tech issued a letter to its North American affiliates terminating all distribution agreements. The company also ceased all sales and marketing operations as a result. USI-Tech blamed the move on its affiliates and did not address the allegations made by the Texas securities board. “We were utterly dismayed to learn that a large number of our sales partners extensively advertise our services on their own websites as well as on social media in a manner which is a breach of contract as well as illegal,” the letter stated. “Consequently, we have decided to immediately discontinue our business activities as well as our sales in the US and Canada.” The decision comes as a result of USI-Tech’s failure to register its securities and provide evidence of its mining and investment operations with the State Securities Board. https://medium.com/@michaelx777/usi-tech-to-shutdown-distribution-marketing-operations-amidst-scam-allegations-65c7d0deba92 We've seen the end of another PONZI SCHEME called USITECH.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQu35TwDJLE The quest for quick riches and greediness will keep some folks in perpetually penury- Pete Richy 3 Likes 2 Shares |

To those who feel buying and holding stocks for long like our fathers did need to have a rethink. This is because most of the stocks were bought at very cheap prices, management of those companies were committed to the growth of the organisation and not people after pecuniary gains, macro economic stability was there at the time i.e exchange rate was strong, government created the right policies and environment for businesses to thrive, friendly socio-political climate and so on. Due to these favourable factors and also sound corporate governance, most of them were at ease committing their hard earned resources into the future of these companies. Now things have changed! Most of those variables that encouraged them to hold are now almost if not totally gone. The country risk is now higher. For instance, a threat from the niger delta Avengers now is enough to scuttle the ongoing bull in the market. Also, we see a lot of financial shenanigans being played now by corporate executives such that when the bubble bursts it can send the company to the undertaker and investors money is wiped off. I can go on and on... Therefore, it is unwise now a days to believe you can buy and hold forever or very long time. Constant monitoring of one's investment is germane now. It's best to do periodic portfolio review so as not to be caught in the web of our papas medieval investment style.. My take. 5 Likes |

Coolcash1: The thing about Emma is that he keeps quoting NESTLE and NB whenever he preaches about long term being far better. CADBURY was once as good as nestle (in terms of fundamentals) before they went under (down below). The man that invested in NESTLE could have also invested in CADBURY. As far as NSE is concerned, I don't believe in long term. Maximum for me is 1 year (depending on the season) sometimes 24 hours. I once made serious dough trading FCMB almost daily (buying and selling same day) and this went on for over 2 weeks (Thanks to FCMB market markers though). Prices will always reverse. 3 Likes |

veecovee: May I not be found to be one derailing this insightful thread, but let me leave you with the words of Jesus Christ, because you fit perfectly to it: "Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying: 2 “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the seat of Moses. 4 They bind up heavy loads and put them on the shoulders of men,+ but they themselves are not willing to budge them with their finger. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you shut up the Kingdom of the heavens before men; for you yourselves do not go in, neither do you permit those on their way in to go in." Matthew Chapter 23: 1, 2, 4 & 13 I am visibly shocked and bewildered by the depth of your ignorance of the Scriptures even as a so-called pastor If you are interested to know the Truth about the God who says he created ".... wine that makes man’s heart rejoice." Psalm 104:15, let us move to Religion thread. The worst thing for a man is to LIE in the name of God or misrepresent his inspired word. 3 Likes |
