Leon Balogun: Who Is Lionel Messi? Reveals Super Eagles Secret Weapon Ahead Of World Cup Mainz 05's Leon Balogun says the objective of the Super Eagles is qualify for the last sixteen of the 2018 World Cup despite the presence of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and Argentina in their group. The central defender, who was in contention to play for Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup until injury ruled him out, pointed out that Nigeria easily overcame Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia during the qualifiers. ''Who's Lionel Messi? Nigeria, Super Eagles deserve this chance, it could have been different teams playing against us in our group but it is Argentina again,'' Balogun told German Television DW. ''Without Messi, some people say we might have been scared. Nigeria is strong, we were the first team to qualify from Africa, so we proved our quality especially as a team. ''I hope that we can bring this on stage in Russia and I think we have chances of reaching the next round.'' Without mentioning names, Balogun revealed that Gernot Rohr has a secret weapon that will work for him at the World Cup. ''We will be a big surprise, we have some attackers, some quality in our offense that most of the teams might not be aware of, so I hope they are not getting to get a wake up call before. ''We are going to wake them up in the game but it's going to be too late for them,'' Balogun added. German-born Leon Balogun played five matches during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and captained the Super Eagles against Algeria in November 2017. **Ifeanyi Emmanuel. Naaah... I can't Reveal most details here. It is a public forum and this is a sports thread and I can only say so much. Information is everywhere mister. You can only see as far as you can gaze.... And the kind of special classified scholarships I have is with an independent institution/institute officially attached to a US university. I do both online and on-campus phases in this special scholarship program. It is kinda classified in some sense but again I can tell you that it requires me to travel too as part of the whole package. That is what the "On-campus" phase/part is about. And yes, one can study online without going to America, it depends on the courses... I have relatives who did such. For your other questions as regards scholarships and more you may have, why not go to my education thread and continue rhe discussion there? You will find it among my 20 topics on NL. It is one of them... Thanks. Emmanueulj: |

Nigeria's conservative strategy paid off, says Salisu Yusuf By KweséESPN Reporter Nigeria coach Salisu Yusuf believes that his conservative tactical approach against Libya was a key reason behind the Super Eagles' African Nations Championship victory on Friday. Sunday Faleye scored the only goal of the game as the home-based Nigeria side beat the North Africans 1-0, winning their first game of the tournament after being held by Rwanda in their opener. Libya were rampant as they swatted away Equatorial Guinea 3-0 in their first match of the campaign, but looked a shadow of themselves against a Nigeria side that limited their time on the ball and blocked off the channels effectively. "Our strategy to close down their space worked," Yusuf told journalists after the match. "We watched their games and they're a good possession team, good with the ball. "Closing down the space gave us the advantage." It was a cagey contest which Yusuf readily admitted could have gone either way, but while Nigeria lacked creativity themselves, the Eagles coach will be delighted that his stopper Ikechukwu Ezenwa barely had a save to make. "We played different tactics for the two games," Yusuf added. "In the other game we played 4-3-3, here we played 4-2-3-1 so that we were always compact centrally. "This helped us deny Libya getting central penetration," he added. "Our play [out wide] worked well too." Nigeria now travel to Agadir where they face Equatorial Guinea in their final match, knowing that anything other than defeat would guarantee progression. "We look forward to the next game with humility and discipline," Yusuf concluded. " We have to work hard - very hard - to beat Equatorial Guinea. "It won't be easy." eazyjakes: England's case is laughable. They treat the world cup like a family vacation. The world cup is once in 4 years. This is the era of Skype and other apps. Hope we don't tow the England line. We have to be serious, our players and their WAGS should see this as a necessary sacrifice. If we are soldiers going to war do we take our wives and girlfriends along? 2 Likes |

The Plateau team is a clubside that plays together every week and how many of their best players were missing? CHAN eagles were hurridly assembled with little or no chemistry as at the time they even played the NPFL clubs, for them not to have lost says alot about their quality against clubsides that has the chemistry lacking in the CHAN eagles. I hope you understand where I'm coming from? This was why I made mention of the Japanese league all starts that lost 7:3 to an unknown 4-5th division side from Australia. Humility017: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: Emeka Ogbugh has been our best player going forward, he gets past his marker at will and his crosses are dangerous. Okpotu will be more dangerous if he played along side Mustapha Ibrahim. Also Dayo Ojo changed the match with his introduction, he brought in urgency. |

Oh but I was not bragging. I was only setting the records straight. I am not ashamed of who I am and I am not afraid to talk a little about it when the occasion calls for it. After all you were also here on this thread when someone tried to rubbish my profile last year calling me Maastricht, saying he hates me and calling me a fake ass. You were here weren't you? After all, bragging is not saying you don't have a medical licence just yet. That is just being factual. But thanks for the message. Of course I get what you mean. It is indeed a small world but it is also a world where one can attract the people and circumstances he want to attract into his life. Positive only attracts positive. Negative attracts negative. Mere success attracts mere success. Vanity attracts Vanity. And Excellence attracts Excellence. The cosmos is like a big magnet pulling to one what or who he is on the inside of his mind. This is why I know the kinds of people I can meet in the future. It's all in the mind too. You always have my respects Sir Tbaba1234. So take good care. And let us return to football. Thank you. tbaba1234: |

Okpotu to play alongside Mustapha Ibrahim? Will Salisu employ such tactics? I think that is proposing a 4-4-2 right or a 3-5-2? And yeah, Ogbugh's crosses are almost always well placed. Dude is trying too. There are still flashes of certain brilliance in the team despite all the team still lacks. I think our defence is also one reason this team can shock the bookmakers but let's see shaa. Please any update on Faleye? Hope dude is okay. BascoVanVeli: |
