Fulani Colonization Vs Igbo Colonization by ashjay001(m): 10:44am On Jan 21, 2018
I was on Facebook just now, arguing with some friends on this very topic, and thought to(try get intelligent views)tongue on nl.

As much as I have taken different stances, I'm a patriot. Igbo's, Fulani's, Hausas, Tiv's, Ijaw's etc, live n let live.

But, with the uproar, concerning the recent fg move, to create colonies, for herdsmen in states, I state my personal views.

1.The Igbo's, have been more colonialists, than anything d herdsmen can come up with.

2. They, igbos, take up or try to take up the entire political climate, biz investments(engine parts, supermarkets, commercial constructions) of regions they colonize, yet no one has created any uproar, maybe just d oba of Lagos sha(with his lagoon comment).

vs

1. The Fulani herdsmen, since after d Dan Fodio wars, have generally lived on d outskirts of even rural communities. With no access to education, healthcare, clean water(forget pipeborne), govt services(security{police}) etc.

2. Majority of the skirmishes, BTW d herdsmen n farmers, has to do with bringing cattle to feed on farmlands. Not, actually, trying to takeover d farm n its surrounding lands, its political structures, the entire biz investments, unlike my Igbo brothers.

The govt owes it to the herdsmen, to provide basic amenities n infrastructures(land, rails, road networks etc), the same way states n fg, have been providing for local n foriegn big businesses, thinking of making huge investments, in or nation.
Cattle rearing is big business!

Pls, I believe, any tribe has a right to locate himself n his biz, in any location, within our sovereignty n this shouldn't be seen as a Igbo bashing thread(though, my Igbo brothers, can be obnoxious).

I dare anyone, to mention any state in Nigeria, where d Igbo's, don't have a strong presence, in the biz climate? So, much so, they are one of the only tribe to be rewarded, with political posts, outside its own region(Kaduna, Lagos etc)

This op (ashjay001) is so daft. So you can't see a difference between the two? someone who came to your place, acquired or rented a property and engaged in legitimate business and when he started making gains, he acquires a land and builds a home for himself and his family all these duly paid for and legitimately acquired, he does not kill anybody and forcefully take possession of anything. This is the person you're comparing with people who will come to your place and brazenly take over or destroy your land and properties and if you dare complain, you are killed, maimed and raped in your own land!!
Can u for once make use of the brain God gave you and stop making stupid posts on nairaland?

You're just being an ignoramus. All this things u said the igbos got or are rewarded with, did they get them legally or did they come in and forcefully take it with impunity?
If you truthfully answer this questions, then you will know that there is absolutely no similarity between what the Igbo's are doing and that of the Fulani. The Igbo's go and invest in a place and become part of the community, living and doing their businesses according to the law, the Fulani come into a place and destroy their host community killing as many as they lay hands on and occupy the place. Has the Igbo ever attacked any of their host communities, killing and destroying their properties and forcefully take over their land? They don't!!!! They live in peace with you and join in the development of the community

There is nothing like igbo colony. Igbos like every other business position their business in one particular location like every other company. Their business does not succeed on the destruction of another man's business like the fulanis.

For the fulani business to succeed, they have to destroy someone's farm business, and that is wrong.

There is nothing special about cattle business and I see no reason government should give them special attention. Once in a while government will ban the importation of an item, the igbos that import that item are left to adjust without government intervention.

If people ban open grazing in a state, it is left for the fulani to move to where it is acceptable or find a way to adjust or go into another business.

U n coluka, are probably d daft ones here! The Fulani take, temporary residence. They actually take permission from d village head, for temporary lodgings.

What brings abt d killings are reprisal attacks for farm invasions, carried out by cattle. Fulani doesn't take over any land!

A lot of u, are quite ignorant, about d relationship btw d farmers n d herdsmen. U'll just sprout uninformed opinions!

The kind of biz d herdsmen are involved in, requires a large landmass, certainly unaffordable to d average herder. It behoves govt to provide it.

Nomads have been a part of d fabric of this nation n can't be wished away.

There were grazing reserves n cattle paths n as some have said, rural n urban dwellers, have been encroaching upon these. That, there, is d cause of d conflicts!

Dairy n beef, are billion dollar investments. Nothing works in our country, so, why are pple angry, d herdsmen haven't branched into ranching!

Will the govt also provide free land for those that produce pigs, chicken, turkey, yam, cassava, cocoa, catfish, rice, beans, goats, sheep, guinea fowl, etc etc etc.

Your level of non-reasoning will lead you to the Libyan slave market, in chains.

Re: Fulani Colonization Vs Igbo Colonization by Nobody: 12:51pm On Jan 21, 2018
Op, your arguments is just another manipulative means by some morons to justify the senseless killings by your Fulani brothers. Igbo people pay rents to their host communities. Igbo business men and women bring to their hosts' door steps their needs in exchange for money.
The same can not be said of your Fulani people, who go about brandishing various brands of dangerious weapons. Their main aim is to take over their host lands and to enthrone Islam and caliphates.
No matter the amount of wealth made by an igbo man in your lands, igbo land remains HOME to him. We bring to you your various needs in exchange for money.
