Hahahaha this is some wickedness. Lmao. cheesy

It reminds me of my single days in the obodo oyibo some years ago, a guy out of town will be toasting a babe, and she agrees to go visit the bobo. He'll book the flight ticket and send her the itinerary. Babes will be happy and excited and start falling in love and sending pics. Travel day arrives, babe gets to the airport to board plane, the flight people will just jejely tell her the plane ticket is invalid. She calls the bros on phone, and he'll tell her he doesn't know who tha heck she is. Babe is utterly embarassed and carries her kaya home. Those were the days lol grin

Okay, My bad. Just re-read the post. Apologies to @Mcstan18 smiley .@Dazzle86 please that's misrepresentation; indicate you are married and choose spouse as unaccompanying. Try and hustle for pof for two(accompanying or not) wink
Kontagious:
The post Mummytutu quoted and said was wrong is in fact correct, you can’t be married and claim single – that was what Mcstan18 responded to saying it’s misrepresentation. Sleekchic noted this but guess you mixed the posts.

If you check his other response you’re talking about, He is very much correct. The other poster said you can claim point as a single applicant by selecting married but spouse not accompanying. Please read the post very well and then check his response. The poster however corrected the intent of that particular post in his response. Clear the words were not put rightly in the first post.

Sure Mcstan18 can defend himself though.

Hi,

Congrats on your progress thus far.

Just to have a fair idea of what constitutes a significant deposit, can you please tell the amount that got you the ADR.

Assuming you have access to a Nigerian bank's USD denominated card:

- 1040CAD = 835USD approx
- Buy dollar from aboki @364 as at today and load your card. That's about 303,940NGN.
- For buffer, you can buy 850USD from aboki, ie. 309,400NGN
-Final answer = 309,400NGN approx as at today.

Julie2018:
Please what’s the naira equivalent for 1040 CAD?

Guys please don't be angry for the long post but this are trying times for me as well as "matters of the heart" concerning me and IELTS and they said "a problem shared is a problem solved"

I keep getting 7.5 on listening and 6.5 on reading even though I read/practice/prepare as if I'm going for MBBS exam. My practice score for both listening and reading are most often within the range of 38- 40 but "I still dey gbagaun for the actual test " dunno y cry

Here is list of things I think might I be doing wrong when it comes it to the listening section:
i. I write all my ans in caps.
ii. I go back to correct the tenses and more often change from singular to plural and vice versa as the sentence required.
iii. In the last test I took; the question required you answers be written in two words and a number; the speaker called out a date of birth as "22nd the 7th 1985" and I wrote "twenty-second July 1985" was I correct? cos i'm thinking this contributed to my downfall and wouldn't want to fail such a question ever in my life.

In reading, I knew my weakness was T/F/NG; Y/N/NG and matching heading so I took out time to practice question on this alone until I started acing it consistently yet "I still enter 6.5 bus" lipsrsealed aside this I can't point a finger to what could be wrong with the reading section.

I planned on taking the next available test as "e dey hot" but on reading canadianfly's write up, I had to take a second guess cos she really made a good point; but my problem could not be practice as I invest good time in it.

Lastly, could it be BC

Im sorry about you result, I am not an expert but i can offer some advice.

- Write exactly what you hear , (the tense you hear) do not change what you wrote first time, trust your ears.
- Follow all instructions ( twenty-second 7th 1985 is wrong IMO the instruction says two words AND OR number. )
- Are you using band 8 materials? Test yourself with the hardest practice tests in Listening and Reading i.e https://ieltsonlinetests.com/

Finally RELAX, you got this

I used the link for mine and i found the test easier than my practice where i averaged 35.

Wishing you all the best cheesy

Happy Sunday guys, please how do I present previous rejection. I had been rejected a study Canadian visa before, do I attach the rejection letter in my application or just mention it in the LOE, I don't want any form of misrepresentation to occur.

Attach all letters you received from CIC for visa denials and write an LOE explaining the reason for denial also fill Schedule A upfront. I was denied Canadian study visa twice after which i appealed and won and was issued subsequently, i attached the two denial letters and the approval letter and also the visa affixed to my passport, i also filled a schedule A upfront and wrote an LOE explaining how it all went down.

Good day canny family.. Please my husband has two accounts.. He has been moving funds from one account to the other.. Like from first bank to uba.. From UBA he will then transfer the funds to my account to which I will fix as soon as the POF is complete since I am the primary applicant.. Now I am going to use his bank statement plus LOE to explain the money he sent to me.
My question is won't the transfer from first bank to UBA raise a red flag? Since they are a bit frequent and the narration says self? What better way can we explain this ?please help a sister biko
From Account A to B then to you, why not from A to you? This money laundry acts is not necessary when you can simply use Account A.

Yes you can do a FD, but be sure to include your gift deed in your POF. There's no particular period to hold the money before fixing. If you fix before printing your statement, add the FD certificate to your POF. If you fix after printing statement, you may choose not include the FD certificate in your POF.

Top of the day to everyone. I have a peculiar question that needs your answers please.

My mother in-law is a US citizen and she had previously filed a green card application for my husband and siblings under the "unmarried children of US citizens" category. While this application was awaiting approval, hubby and I got married and when they finally invited him and his siblings to make a formal application and attend an interview, he stated that he was now married on his forms. So while his siblings got invited for an interview and subsequently received immigrant visas, his own was stepped down to go back into the "pool" under the "Married children of US citizens" category.

My question now is: While filling out the Schedule A form, I indicated that hubby has a previous UK visa refusal, ticked yes under the applicable section and also gave details of the refusal however, do I need to also provide details of the green card application as i explained above? Is it necessary? It wasn't really a refusal, just stepped down to be reconsidered under a new category.

Kindly help so that they dont say I misrepresented information. Thanks.

-Whats the limit on your card for such transactions

Hmm. Your bolded though. If an applicant states that he is she is married but spouse not accompanying, CIC will award the person points as if such person is single naa. Isn't that what CIC stated on their site. That is what I was referring to. I wasn't even commenting on the mago mago nature of the initial question. Maybe I mixed up mummytutu's and sleekchic response sha. Well, what do I know?

I don't really know what to advice here but I think you shd use strategies discussed in ielts buddy and liz. The strategies there was what I used in my practice at 3rd attempt and although I never got past 37 in practice tests, I got a surprising band 9 in the actual listening test.
I also wrote in caps for the first time in reading and listening and scored higher than the first 2. Check out these websites if you have not been using them before.
On the tenses, try and pay more attention during listening. I don't think you should keep on changing the answers later, you might get it all muddled up. However the tenses you use should be appropriate for the sentence. All the best as you prepare for the next one

Don't get me wrong this is totally legal and on CIC website.
- If you are married but your spouse will not be accompanying you to canada, you score more points like a single person.

We should also talk about the implication of towing that path in relation to sponsoring such spouse in the future when they finally desire to make the move. It will help for better decision making for those who are oblivious of it.

Let's be conscious of answers we give, especially when it carries so much authority.

There was a similar case mentioned on the previous thread, poster got reference letter from his line head, but confirmation went direct to the company's HR (probably gotten from their website) with the line head in copy. Case got a bit complicated as HR was said to not likely respond, and line head too wouldn't even dare respond to that particular mail.

I can't recollect the end of that case.

cc: Clock89, please be guided.

Thank you @Kontagious for the insightful input but I think you more or less buttressed my initial response. The bolded alludes to that. They did contact the line head but perhaps needed some additional clarification from HR and I totally agree with you. Besides, I'd do the same if I were in their shoes because it's the duty of a Company's HR to determine staff JD, compensation, benefits and what have you. If I must accept a line manager's representation, then the HR has to endorse same. I do not think that invalidates the simple 'Yes' response given.

Thank you again for the case cited

@mcstan18 this your response is very wrong. It is not misrepresentation. As a married person you have an option of either adding your spouse or not.(accompanying or unaccompanying spouse). If after ITA/AOR (during processing) the PA decides to add spouse and send relevant docs to IRCC, then that's misrepresentation cos it will be deduced that the PA choose spouse as 'unaccompanying' just to claim points.

@mummytutu I think you need to read my response in relation to the question posed. I believe you're having things mixed up here. Besides, I think there are better ways to get an erring party corrected other than the bolded. We're all learning you know, whether explicitly or implicitly.

Lol.

Mcstan18 please understand the process well before dishing wrong answers to newbies. How can you advise someone to divorce their spouse all because of PR? When there's a choice to choose them as unaccompanying? Then the referefrence answer, like Kontagious pointed out, one is expected to get reference letter from the appropriate dept, I.e. HR. Anyway please folks y'all need to read for yourselves and not take every answer on here as truth, coz some people haven't really gotten a grasp of things.

All the best to everyone.

I don't seem to understand your position ma'am. I'm sure you know that that wasn't an advise, I only stated a possible scenario for legitimately applying as a 'single' person. I didn't know what was obtainable for the poster and that's why I said "if it applies". It would be rather unfair to quote me out of contest and try to make it look spiteful.
Remember sey na we-we for this Canny journey wink

Hello,

I understand how you feel and i'm sorry you had this experience.

1.For listening i wrote all my answers in CAPS too and i had 8.5 so that is not the problem
2. I did that too.
3. I just wrote 'July 1985' I think the instruction was 'one word and/or a number' some people said it was '2 words and a number' and they wrote 22nd July 1985 but to me '22nd' is also a number(dunno sha) so that would have been 2 numbers at least.

The reading was very tricky i remember feeling like i was going to fail it, I couldn't even predict my score after the test.

I don't even know what advise to give you. But i know if you take your time again, practice again and Please PRAY!!!! you will do well, cos its not an IQ test. The most intelligent doctor i know is rewriting it also, so please don't beat yourself up about it. E dey happen. All the best.[Thanks a lot for the enlightenment ]
