Nevertheless he's still far better than Agu. Agu might not even make the WC... its 50/50 for him.

On ROHR[ pronounce RAWWW,not ROWER]. This interview is quite revealing because at some point they all started laughing when Rohr said Nigerians are following the interview. Here are what i got ,not word to word...by the way,the program was a NO or YES answer session.

Was Nigeria s qualification your happiest moment? NO, but the match between Bordeaux and AC Milan in EUFA Cup Final. He was coach of Bordeaux then.
Are you happy you are going to your first world cup..Yes
Are the match bonuses and allowances settled this time? Yes
Reaching the quarter final,is that your target? Yes
But the federation has set semi-final target for you? Yes
Can you make it? No. At this point they all started laughing and Rohr quickly said its possible, that obviously Nigeria are following the program,he seemed uneasy and not self confident when he said this.
Is your group the group of death? No
Is France favourite to win the world cup? Yes
Among the African teams, which team is the best? Nigeria? No. Egypt? Yes
Can you come back one day to the French League? No,but Its difficult to say..who knows tomorrow
Is Bordeaux well managed today? No
What was your most painful match or part of your life? My injury
Who is the best player you have coached? Zizou[Zidane]
Which is harder to coach, club or country? Country
If you were the coach of Neymar, would you be harder on him? Yes
Have you lied on any of these questions you have answered? No

As i said it is not verbatim of the interview. What do you think. Please around of applause for me...i love french language...elle est geniale

Great job brother. Gernot Rohr is a master of mind games sha, it would have cost him nothing to rank Niggeria as top in Africa but he is guarding against complacency. I love the fact that he doesn't care his target and the NFF are not the same.

Rohr should take a second look at Cyriel Dessers and Ryan Sanusi these guys especially Cyriel Dessers scores in week in week out. Plus Leon Balogun has been missing for while in mainz. Tony Ujah isn't doing badly too.

Stories for Ahmadioha...

Of what use is Mikel Agu to that team?

We have seen enough of him, Ogu with his snail speed plays better and stood his ground against better teams. He can shoot and score as well from his defensive duties.

Agu is as Slow as Ogu

Agu can't defend, can't dribble, can't drive attack and can't score, but Ogu can do all these...

So what exactly is Agu needed for? undecided

JOHN OBI MIKEL - NIGERIA SKIPPER SET FOR FENERBAHCE MOVE?

Monday Jan 22, 2018. 10:00
Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel could be set for a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce before the close of this January transfer window.

The 30-year-old Super Eagles skipper has been linked with the Istanbul side in the past, and Sporx reports that the player’s management team has been looking into securing a move to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

Mikel is currently on the books of Chinese side Tianjin TEDA, having completed his first Chinese Super League (CSL) season a couple of months back.

This could be a fine career move for the Nigerian midfielder, who will want to have competitive football before leading the Super Eagles in their World Cup campaign in Russia.

Fenerbahce are currently in a tight race for the Super Lig title in Turkey, three points behind behind log leaders Istanbul Basaksehir, with Galatasaray also in contention.

The ‘Yellow Canaries’ currently have Africans Nabil Dirar, Aatif Chahechouhe and Carlos Kameni in their first-team squad.

Do you mean his goals in turkey are not goals?

Agu was brought in for Mikel Obi which is not a like for like sub.We are yet to see Agu in the DMF position.

If Agu was not injured, he would have started against Algeria.

Probably, we will get to see him in one of the friendlies.

Agu on his day is what you call a typical destroyer. With Joel Obi knocking on the door, I fear for Ogu rather than Agu.

Malaga Reach Agreement To Sign Brown Ideye On Loan From Chinese Side Tianjin Teda

Nigeria international forward Brown Ideye has formally left Chinese side Tianjin Teda for Spanish LaLiga side Malaga on a six months loan deal, which will expire at the end of the season in Spain.

Ideye left China for Spain yesterday per a post on his instagram account, and a medical with Malaga is scheduled to take place today before the potential official announcement of his signing.

29 year old Ideye lost his first team spot at Tianjin Teda and he was demoted to the B team of the club, following the signing of Ghanaian winger Frank Acheampong.

The 12 million Euros signing from Olympiakos in Greece ‎was close to joining Alaves, but the move broke down on transfer deadline day during the summer transfer window due to issues bothering on the terms of his transfer.

A move to Malaga will help him regain his spot in the Nigeria national team ahead of the start of preparations for the World Cup in Russia later in the year.

He will no doubt be a postive addition to the front line of Malaga as he boast of wealth of experience following stints in France, Switzerland, Ukraine, England and Greece before his move to China.

Everton Confirms Onyekuru Won’t Be Needing Surgery, Set To Return Before End Of Season

On loan Everton forward Henry Onyekuru who is back at the club receiving treatment after injuring his knee while in action for his loan side Anderlecht, won’t be needing surgery according to a statement by Everton.

There have been confusion on if the 20 year old would undergo surgery with Anderlecht insisting he has to , while the forward said there won’t be any need for him to go under the knife.

Back at Everton where he is undergoing treatment, the club confirmed in an interview on their website on his progress that he won’t be needing surgery, and he is on track to play once again this season.

The news means he is still in with a chance of representing Nigeria at the World Cup, as opposed to when news had it that he could miss the global showpiece event as he is due out for the season.

Speaking on his recovery, Onyekuru who has nine goals in 14 league starts for Anderlecht thanked Everton for the love and care he has received since he commenced his treatment, saying it has played a role in speeding up his recovery.

“It is amazing here,” Onyekuru told evertonfc.com. “The people are good people, always friendly and showing care. I feel love and with that love I will recover even more quickly.

“When I first got injured the whole picture was quite bad, but fortunately it was not as severe as we first feared… so, hopefully, I will be back and ready to play before the end of the season.

“The first aim is to get back and finish the season in Belgium. There will be a few weeks of the league season remaining, so it makes sense for me to end the season there and prepare for the World Cup.

“When I got knocked by the goalkeeper I felt so bad and was worried.

“But since I came here and started having my treatment I have been happy. I am smiling every day.”

Agu is not slow and his attacking instinct is greater than that of all the defensive midfielders we currently have except for Oghenekaro when they play him there. Agu is the youngest defensive MF we have with a lot of rooms to grow and the presence of top players in the team is not helping him.

FAI face competition from Nigeria for underage Ireland star after Premier League debut at just 17

THE FAI are facing competition from Nigeria for the international allegiances of Michael Obafemi, who made his Premier League debut for Southampton yesterday.
Still only 17, the striker’s exploits in the Saints youth team earned him a place on the bench against Tottenham and he almost scored the winner during the 10 minutes he got on the pitch.
With the game deadlocked at 1-1, Mauricio Pellegrino threw the rookie on and he came within inches of turning a cross home but for once his prolific finishing touch deserted him.

Obafemi was born in Ireland to Nigerian parents before relocating to England at a young age. He spent his formative years at Leyton Orient before being snapped up by the Saints.
Having been spotted by the FAI’s London-based scout Mark O’Toole, he declared for Ireland last year and was called into the U-18 squad for the Slovakia Cup. His debut, though, didn’t come until September when he played twice for the Under-19s in their first phase UEFA qualifiers in Waterford.

The next phase of the qualifiers take place in Portugal during March but, should his ascent continue, Obafemi may be fast-tracked into the U-21 squad for their Euro qualifier against Azerbaijan in the same week or even the senior training camp in Turkey.
Nigeria will have other ideas. In contrast to Ireland, they have qualified for the World Cup and will be eager to pitch themselves to a Premier League newcomer.

Another player eligible for both nations, Limerick’s in-demand striker Chiedozie Ogbene, has indicated he will declare for the Golden Eagles.
"It’s a special feeling as I have dreamed of this since I was a kid," said Obafemi following yesterday’s bow, which made him the second youngest player after Luke Shaw to make his top-flight debut for the Saints.

"I’m just thankful to the club and all the staff that made it happen.
"I came into training on Saturday believing I would be playing for the under-18s. The manager stopped me and said that I would be training instead and would maybe be in the first-team squad.

"When the chance came, I should have used my left foot but I hope I will get another opportunity to prove I can make it at this level.
"I was nervous but the welcome from the supporters was brilliant and the senior guys told me to just relax and prove myself. I want to move on from here and keep working hard.

"I can’t stop here, this is just the beginning
