You will be stupid to argue with facts.
Ist more cars does not translate to more riders. The number of cars has nothing to do with people who are using Uber.
If the total monies spent by riders in a week is 100 million and you have x or 1000 drivers the average drivers can make is 100k. so if some make 150k others will definitely make less than 100k. if all of them make 150k then the monies they make is from runs not from riders.

Abi you are into Uberplusplus?
OK sir

This is a hypothesis

Uber and Taxify business may become less lucrative in many months to come especially in Lagos.

LASG is investing heavily in transportation
By the time Danfos are taken out of the road demand for Uber will reduce.

2hrs 30mins alone on Uber is 150minXN11=N1650. after 25% your get N1237.50 on time taken alone. so your N1300 is a lie

Sir, the reason for posting is to ask for recommendations not for you to be doing FBI. With a 2007 Camry Muscle, how much would you have used on fueling?

The market is big enough now. Not everybody knowns about Uber. Uber has a target market. Uber is meant for people that can afford it. It's a form of transport luxury. I don't really see Uber to be less lucrative anytime soon.
Do you known the amount of money lagos state government spend on transport today. What happen to all buses five years ago. The problem we have is that we don't have good maintance culture . It's is reason why does transportation structure never fully developed in order to ease transportation in lagos.
A common railroad that was supposed to ease the moving of goods and services. What happened to it now, wasted money and resources. And the lagos state wants to ease transport in lagos when ordinary train services can't not be easily implement ed .

Uber right now is the cheapest and convenient form of taxi, way cheaper than yellow and black taxis.

Do you known the millions or billions lagos has wasted on buses. What happen to those buses. Was lagos state making enough money from it. Who was in charge at the time to run it well. There was no proper structure put in place. So it is now that they want implement structure to ease transportation.
Once lagos can run a successful train system. You can than give me a buzz. Till than its Uber and it's targeted audience. Uber is not everyone, even though it's cheap. Or u think it's everybody that knowns how to use smart phone

Just because it's the cheapest doesn't mean everyone can afford it. A lot of people spend at least half of their salary on transportation . By the time you spend 500 naira and 300 here on uber . Trust me this small cheap rides adds up .

This is not the first time lagos has spend billions on transportation . Money wasted with no heads or tail. What happen to those buses that fashola commission?during his time has a lagos governor . They couldn't maintain them and some of those buses were scrap and. Lagos was not making enough money to pay the workers. It was terrible

lol.

Wrong hypothesis.

If you remove danfo from the roads, there will be crisis. Unless you are removing 1000 danfo buses, and replacing them with 1000 buses of the same capacity, and even at that, you only maintained status quo. Nothing new.

Your hypothesis may be logical if you are removing the total danfo buses in lagos and replacing them with double or almost double of what they used to be.... until that happens, no shaking.

Hello guys,

I am a newbie on this uber business, I find the rates very bad, like Victoria Island to Ejigbo for N1,300 after being in traffic for like 45 minutes with the Air conditioning on throughout the journey on top of that uber takes like NGN300 from the trip, don't forget you have spent like 2hrs 30 minutes for this ride.
How are you guys able to make money? Trips from Ikeja to Ojodu Berger is NGN600 and uber still takes like NGN200.
I am not understanding this business, can someone break it down for me?
You asked a valid question which I had in mind before I found this thread on nairaland, follow the thread you will learn more than you anticipated, check previous pages for the answers you seek. I personally visit this thread to learn because wise information are shared here daily, I also learn from the arguments. Thanks guys and keep up the good work.

It's still on paper... a thought.. An idea .. A process. We just trying to re-create a process that already exists.

Currently I am testing 'Driver maintenance group' on my own fleet... and truly it has reduced issues of sudden expenses.

We will wear the idea first before we give it to u. wink

drivers are trained on the Basics of how a car works, trained to diagnose simple car problems, driver gives exact feedback of the exact problems facing car, and is able to prevent extended damage by applying knowledge aquired.

E.g
before a gasket burns, a car overheats.

Before an engine knocks, it starts by rattling

Before a ball joint pulls out, there is uneven tyre wear, and excessive sway.

Before brakes fail, there is loss in fluid pressure to brake calipers.

Lets cthange the narrative.

Lets reduce vehicle down time.

Professional drivers are not just drivers that can drive.

After the first batch of containers where moved to the north from apapa, that train never came back again. As a biz man, never be scared of change, mek do of now...the future is now

Never leave out the FUTURE. The govt didn't get it in the past doesn't mean they will not get it now. They just might. And even if they dont, there is a concept called "equilibrium" in economics. The more cars being registered on uber, the closer we are getting to the point of "equilibrium".

Every present Government always want to out-do immediate past Government, whether same or opposition party (at least in Naija).
LASG has invested and is still investing in transport business, but You and I know very well that they've not take 20% of the business.
So why the panic about the future when the next administration will go the opposite direction of his predecessor just to make name?
"The more cars being registered on uber"? and who tells you Uber will not have been overtaken by another e-hailing app company? At that time, more Lagos Lagoon and further part of the Atlantic Ocean will have been sandfilled to accommodate plenty more people that will troop into Lagos Mega City (Land of opportunities). That means more riders, more money, more business, Not the other way round, because many more person will come to Lagos.
Bottom-line anything tagged government project or property only works when the brain behind the project is still in power, but dumped once another brain enters the seat.

This was the reason ur account with Uber was deactivated.

you thought Uber a lesson by frustrating riders, but Uber remain number one.

You frustrate owners by using their cars and dumping without paying couple of weeks payment and you are still justifying ur actions by claiming u taught them lesson.

Drivers are important, but that shouldn't justify drivers cheats and greed.
Wow, just seeing this, very unfortunate, I am still learning on here sad shocked

Uber Nigeria doesn't have a building of their own, the office is rented stop comparing UBER NIGERIA with uber global... U are the greatest fool for doing that...ask any driver, partner and rider what uber Nigeria faced last year when they reduced fare, a lot of partners pulled out, they sold their beautiful cars, a lot of riders deleted their apps, most drivers moved to taxify... Its not that our leaders are short-sighted, they are just blinded by greed and reason why we live in a failed state.
LASG investing into transport business isn't going to be a new thing, the new thing will be accomplishing it to the fullest and not just short term but long term and that brings us about the future but my first paragraph will always prove otherwise. It is very easy for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle than for our govt to get it right.
Talking about the future, the future belongs to those who are creative, think outside the box and are willing to make things work. Uber on the other hand is here to stay and trust me it is one of the best things that have happened to this country.
My advice is : be innovative and invest wisely.

Meanwhile, all these e-wars ain't necessary, everyone gat their opinion and should your opinion be different from others then respectfully argue about it but with proof.
