fuckerstard: Fela was the greatest. he had choices to be in the corridors of power but he chose activism. He is from an influential family, pioneers for that matter, go and watched documentary of how he lived in kalakuta, every one was equal eating the same food and living the same life. He was threatened and dealt with yet he waxed stronger, a man at the frontier of African values, not kolo mentality! 2 Likes |

Xlyad:Chief Gani was a great man, he did a lot for nigerians, though silently. from his personel efforts he sponsored scholarships to indigent nigerians across the nation. he fought against injustice where ever he saw it. always on the side of truth & justice. i wish our past and present leaders 've half of Chief Gani's qualities, nigeria wouldn't 've been in this mess. may the Lord bless his soul. 1 Like 1 Share |

I had this discussion with a friend just yesterday. Our argument was between Fela and Gani Fawehinmi. We both later settled for Gani because you can easily make him a role model. No one prays to have a child who smokes and lives like Fela. But in all, they are the best and greatest Nigerians ever. That aside, some names should be on the list. Names like Jaja Wachukwu Aminu Kano Funmilayo Ransom-Kuti Anthony Enahoro Adegoke Adelabu And few others 3 Likes |

Skepticus: But he introduced free weed into our system. Now young people smoke their destiny into oblivion. He promoted immorality marrying 26 women in one day. He was indeed great, while busy fighting the military juntas, he was surreptitiously introducing his own rots into our system. |

Lt. Col Bukar Dimka is the greatest Nigerian. He brought the war criminal Murtala Muhammed to justice, shame he did not have enough time to add Joe Garba the traitor to the list......... |

MasViews:They are not! These men introduced tribalism, spiritism and religious sentiment in Nigeria. They didn't fight for independence alone they had ulterior motives which we are now reaping. |

Ladyhippolyta88:nnamdi azikiwe, tafawa balewa and awolowo supervised the negotiating away of our economic independence for flag or political independence. They sold Nigeria for British interest. They were never true nigerians but sick tribal champions. Armadu bello dreamt of dipping his Koran in the sea. While awolowo championed the good of his western region while our azikiwe was busy asslicking the north. Both azikiwe and tafawa were elitist in disposition and foisted problem against awolowo who was pro masses. They arrogantly broke the western region to create the Midwest in order to spite and reduce awolowo. Then they moved to install ladoke Samuel Akintola to displace awolowo, rig the election and waited for awolowo to complain. They used the military and intimidated and put him in prison. Awolowo is a better man than his corrupt contemporaries. My annoyance with the sage is that he wasted the golden opportunity for freedom of both yoruba and igbo. |

BlackDuke:king Jaja was the first to stand up to the British in shipping palm oil from Bonny to Liverpool. The British couldn't stomach it. 50 years later we sell crude oil to Britain and import pms. If jaja were to be alive today,he would setup refinery and export petroleum products. HE IS THE MAN 2 Likes |
