Yes naa... He is an Alien kid... His goals stats in the GWG and at club level suggests such too. And an hybrid forward definitely too... NFF has totally failed - Onigbinde
by Editor on January 27, 2018

Former Super Eagles coach, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has expressed dismay over Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)’s appointment of ex-Sweden female national team coach, Thomas Dennerby to handle the Super Falcons.

Onigbinde said the appointment was a clear indication that the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF has admitted failure in the area of training Nigerian coaches. There had been public outcry over NFF’s hiring of a foreign coach to replace the coach Florence Omagbemi-led technical crew that led the Falcons to win the last AFCON title in Cameroun.
Onigbinde noted that if the NFF had concentrated its efforts in exposing and impacting technical knowledge on Nigerian coaches, the body would have credible managers that would be able to compete favorably with their foreign counterparts at this point in time.

The erstwhile FIFA and CAF instructor said that overemphasis in hiring foreign coaches for Nigeria national teams would affect the development of domestic players, adding that the dearth of producing quality coaches in the country also killed the process of discovering and grooming talented footballers.

Onigbinde, who wondered why the NFF would appoint a foreign coach for the Super Falcons after emerging African champions with domestic coaches over the years, declared that the federation would have invested more on Nigeria trainers to excel at the global level.

“The appointment of a foreign coach for the Super Falcons is admission of total failure by the NFF. Instead of investing more resources to technically groom Nigeria coaches, they prefer to spend it on foreign coaches. Because of lack of assistance on the part of the NFF, Nigeria have only few coaches in CAF training while countries like Ghana has produced 5000 coaches. The country exposes more coaches to international training.

“When appointing a foreign coach for the Falcons, did the NFF know much about his credentials? Does the coach know much about developing and working with Africa players? These are things NFF should look out for. It is really a shame that some of the foreign coaches I train when I was FIFA and CAF instructor come to the country to look for job. They are even rated than our domestic coaches,” he said.

Speaking further, Onigbinde said: “NFF need to focus more on training Nigerian coaches because a country cannot produce good students if the teachers are half-baked. I have travelled round the continent and I do not think there is a country that has better players and coaches than Nigeria.

The only problem is how to put the basic infrastructure to bring out the best. This can only be achieved through the NFF. If the right step are not taking, coaches would continue to beg Nigeria-born foreign-based players to play for the country when we have abundant talents that are not well monitored. Looking inwards and impacting more knowledge to our coaches would go a long way in repositioning our football.”

Should NFF be training Nigerian coaches or should people who want to be coaches pay for themselves to get the qualifications?

I feel personal improvement should not necessarily be an NFF thing. Coaches can work on improving themselves by themselves.

Ten English-Based Nigerian Talents That Can Be Capped By The National Teams
(6-10)

Published: January 26, 2018
Allnigeriasoccer.com completes the best of the young Nigerian contingent in English football who are worthy of consideration as far as their talents go.

6. Ike Ugbo (Chelsea) : Having won almost all youth titles in the ranks of the U18, Ugbo had swiftly transitioned into a
formidable goal poacher thanks to his technique and deadly finishing ability.
And recently, he was back with a bang for the club's U23s in the Premier League 2 against Sunderland where he scored one and set up another in a 5-0 win.

7. Faustino Anjorin (Chelsea) : At just 16 years of age, Anjorin is regarded as the next big thing at Chelsea after he had continued to star with the club's youth team.
With three goals to his name from just nine starts for the table-topping Blues in the U18 league this campaign, it clearly
illustrates his knack for finding the net from his deep midfield position.

8. Tariq Uwakwe (Chelsea) : With an explosive turn of pace and long, powerful legs, Uwakwe's versatility enables his to play across the midfield or in the left side of the pitch where he focuses on trailing bodies in his wake.
His solitary goal for the U18s this campaign do not tell the whole story and if his continued improvement is anything to go by, the 18-year old would sooner rather than later be turning out alongside Victor Moses at Stamford Bridge.

9. Michael Obafemi (Southampton) : When young Obafemi replaced Manolo Gabbiadini for his Premier League debut against Tottenham last weekend, he became the first Nigerian player born in the year 2000 to feature in the division. It is a no-brainer why.
The talented striker's goal scoring exploits for the U18s is well documented, with 12 already dispatched for the season in just 15 outings, including a treble against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Youth Cup.

10. Fred Onyedinma (Millwall) : The 21-year old midfield sensation had been in fine fettle with the Championship club, contributing from deep with his scintillating performances; no doubt why Neil Harris had kept faith with the youngster in 21 of the 28 matches the club have played in the English second-tier.
Having reportedly caught the eyes with most Premier League clubs already monitoring his progress, his decent goal to help Millwall into the fourth round of the FA Cup was a good enough caveat to build on.

Ten English-Based Nigerian Talents That Can Be Capped By The National Teams (1-5)

Published: January 25, 2018
The jostle for national team slots is never an easy a task to indulge in, especially for youngsters who are oblivious of the pros and cons of the set-up and then, the age-old chestnut of agents lobbying for the inclusion of their clients equally makes it all the more difficult.
Thankfully, Gernot Rohr has so, has less of the latter to contend with his authority quite commanding in almost all of the quarters.
But why most of our prodigies remain well outside the picture of any of the national teams is anybody's guess.
Taking England as a case study were one would find most of our promising starlets littered all over — from Manchester duo of Lukas Mmecha and Tosin Kehinde, Arsenal's Xavier Amaechi, Arthur Okonkwo and Folarin Balogun to Chelsea's Ike Ugbo, Faustino Anjorin and Tariq Uwakwe, not forgetting Southampton's Michael Obafemi and Millwall's Fred Onyedimma,
allnigeriasoccer.com had chosen to detail the readers in two series, ten of the finest of our budding gems.

1. Lukas Nmecha (Manchester City) : It is telling that a certain 19-year old youngster had been fortunate enough to feature for a star-studded Manchester City this term and even helped the club into the semifinals of the EFL Cup against Leicester City, scoring a penalty in the shootout as the Citizens eased to the victory. For the U23s in the Premier League 2, eight goals in six starts and seven appearances overall stands him out as a ruthless marksman and it is little wonder Pep Guardiola and his power brokers wasted little time in tying him down until at least 2021.

2. Tosin Kehinde (Manchester United) : Regarded as the most promising player within the Red Devils youth set up, Tosin is perharps the next in line to the midfield throne at Manchester United.
For someone so young, he has great vision and a tremendous sense of positioning, which allows him to constantly recover possession and training with the senior side on a number of occasions has certainly helped. Clearly, a maiden debut for the first team is on the cards.

3. Xavier Amaechi (Arsenal) : Players with Amaechi's level of skill on the ball are worth their weight in gold and it is even more surprising given his tender age.
The enterprising winger who just turned 17 this year is primed for the upper echelons of the game . Fast, skillful and cheeky, the young trickster could well be turning out alongside his compatriots of Alex Iwobi and Chuba Akpom for the senior team in no distant time.

4. Arthur Okonkwo (Arsenal) : For a 16-year old to take up the mantle between the sticks at a club of Arsenal stature, one would undoubtedly be expecting quality. And in Okonkwo, that is precisely what you get.
The young goalkeeper who has caught the eyes of first team gaffer, Arsene Wenger is highly regarded by the Frenchman and have even trained with the senior team
on a couple of occasions.

5. Folarin Balogun (Arsenal) : Folarin Balogun completes the trio of Arsenal brightest prospects who are primed for big things, and rightly so.
A versatile pacy midfielder aged 16, Balogun is well known in the youth ranks for his goal scoring prowess from his favoured midfield position, having already scored against Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain in the ABN AMRO Future Cup.

Oh yes we said it... he is better than Mbappe in some attributes just as Mbappe beats him in some attributes also. Besides, when it came to goals we simply were emphasizimg the fact that scoring in France is a lot easier than scoring in the EPL. wink 2.0 > 1.5... sorry not my fault. It is the strength of the leagues concerned and also the UEFA index for leagues ratings.

And I have always called Nacho the Alien Kid even before this beautiful mighty thread was born wink And in calling him that and a hybrid forward, I speak of Nacho's potentials and abilities and also his defined natural role as a footballer. He is a no.10 with the feet of a no.9. Has Excellent Vision and can pick the right pass and bring others into a game but can also finish with the touch and class of a master. Plain simple.

And mehn... haven't you been reading? undecided Come on Sir Goldfish... you know what I have always said, just that you maybe finding it difficult to nail down.

Lemme put it in bold italics for you, Nacho's best position and the role he features in that will bring out his absolute best beast mode is "the SS role" followed very closely by "a roaming dynamic kind of AM role", but again with those being his best positions doesn't mean he does not excel or does good in a few other roles. It is like a science kid who rocks 100 in physics but rates mostly a 70 or 75 in chemistry and an 80 in Biology.
For instance, as a false 9, Nacho excels well too. He also does okay as a RWF if a proper 4-3-3 is employed. And as a top 9/lone striker, Nacho is not among the best but he certainly has the stats to prove he does good in that role too. He simply knows how to improvise for the most parts as a top9/lone striker.... Finito. I have been saying this for ages now. I am only repeating myself. Am I still sitting on the fence according to your understanding?
cheesy

And what areas Kelechi should still work on? Come on man... you didn't read my convo with that amiable Arsenal fan called Sir Edi287... or is it Edi87? Ahhhh.. I know say na one of them shaa. I will put some of them in italics for you... areas he should improve on that is. wink

I said Nacho still got to work even harder on his first touch despite his encouraging improvements so far from the recent games seen.

Also, Nacho got to work on his work rate levels... Mbappe is what I call the ultimate Teen athlete-footballer because of his physical abilities. He is fast, has bad-ass endurance and is so very skillful. I made reference to Mbappe because to me his work rate level is unrivalled among young strikers today. I want Nacho to step up his work rate levels but not to the level of Mbappe. I don't see both players ever having same work rate levels. Mbappe trumps there easily. Both footballers will forge different footballing philosophical paths in the end. This I know.

Mbappe will develop along the path of being physical, super fast, full of running and very skillful.
Iheanacho will develop along the path of being more brains than brawn. He will be more calculated in his movements than being all physical and full of running.

Furthermore, Iheanacho has to work on his ability to be daring sometimes and be a little more adventurous. That way he can exert much more influence on a game. He has to work on that too. There are more subtle details he can develop to improve his all-round game as footballer but he is certainly on the right path.

He has The Vision- Really excellent Vision too, he has the intelligence of positioning which unveils his "raumdeuter" qualities like A Thomas muller (he knows to exploit gaps and find spaces in opposition areas) , he has the finishing- here he is on another level entirely (no hypes), he also has the ability to read a game intelligently and bring others into play and give that killer final pass which is why he bags assists like kilode sometimes. This young lad is still growing but he got the basic ingredients that can make him great. He is far from being the finished article but right now, he is still an article worth talking about and worth looking out for as he evolves

C'est fini. smiley
